  Beschreibung

  This is a private Albergue on the Caminho de Santiago Portugues da Costa.
  We, that is Lawrence (ex-Fisherman from Cornwall & Alaska) and Vani (from Germany, but living in Portugal for 20 years) also live in this house, where we receive up to 10 pilgrims from the spring to autumn months.
  We are 1,5km from the village Vila Nova de Cerveira, on a hill in a nice rural area. 12km from ocean beaches. We have a big, wild garden, 2 horses, dogs and cats.
  We are looking for a responsible helper to assist us several hours a day with cleaning in the morning and receiving guests in the evening.
  Most of our guests are pilgrims on the St. James Way from Porto to Santiago de Compostela.

  You will meet interesting international people who are walking on a beautiful way of spiritual heritage through Portuguese country side and nature. Every one in their very own way and with their very own story. I think it can be an interesting experience to get to know so many different ways and views of life.
  And you will live in a location that is peaceful and close to nature.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for an honest and practical person, who MUST have basic conversational English, and German. A Latin language would be helpful too but not necessary.
  
  The help is making beds, cleaning, washing sheets etc in the morning and helping with check-in in the afternoon.
  Min. working hours are 25 per week.
  You have 2 days off per week as well.
  
  We will pay the local minimum wage per hour additionally to the accommodation.
  Occasionally you can make dinner for pilgrims as an additional income option.
  
  Visa, work permit and insurance are your own responsibility when you come to stay with us.

  The nearest community is Vila Nova Cerveira about a 15 min walk. It's located directly next to the river Minho. The village portrays itself as an artistic center and is generally vibrant socially through the whole spring to autumn period with festivals and events. It's a popular destination for visiting Spanish people because of our border location. The river Minho is in fact the border with Spain and there are many kilometres of riverside walking and cycle paths. We can loan you a bike. The Atlantic shore and fabulous beaches are 12 km distant where surfing is popular.
