What else to do in and around Huanchaco:

Huanchaco offers a good surf each day. If the swell is too big and so the current too strong, best is to make an one hour trip to Chicama, world´s longest left wave!

If you want to learn Spanish and take some Spanish classes, we work together with a language school in Huanchaco.

Enjoy delicious Peruvian food in Huanchaco! Huanchaco is famous for its Ceviche, a raw fish and seafood dish!

If you prefer to cook yourself, in the market 2 blocks away from the hostal, you can get any fresh fruit you can imagine, all different kinds of fresh vegetables and of course fresh fish! There is also a big supermarket in the mall 20 minutes from Huanchaco, heading towards Trujillo, Perus 3rd biggest city. In the mall you can even find a cinema!

Enjoy a wonderful view over Huanchaco and its coastline or an amazing sunset from its church Santuario Virgen del Socorro, Peru´s second Christian church.

Get to know more about Huanchaco´s reed boats, the "Caballitos de Totora". You can even have a ride on them!

If you are interested in Peru´s culture, visit the famous archaeological sites of the pre-Columbian cultures of the Chimus and Moches:
    - Chan- Chan, capital of the Chimu culture is the biggest adobe city of the world, 15 minutes from Huanchaco by car.
    - Huaca de la Luna y del Sol are adobe temples from the Moche culture with well preserved, colorful murals, 4 km outside of Trujillo.
    - El Brujo is one of the most important archaeological complexes on the north coast of Peru from the Moche culture. The complex lies about 45 minutes north of Huanchaco by car, in between Huanchaco and Chicama.

As you see, there are quite some things to do here. If you have any other question, please contact us!
