Fran, Anton and their sons Jake & Marc were fantastic hosts who all welcomed us into their homes with open arms and made our first month adjusting to Australian life incredibly easy. Fran ensured we had the best start by providing a car which was gave us the freedom to explore Melbournes beautiful surroundings. She also let us stay in her place in
… read more the Dandenong Ranges before we set out for Sorrento. All of the accommodations we stayed in were all clean, comfortable and well equipped for short or long stays and we were provided with food throughout our stay. We loved being around the dogs who were all friendly and loved being spoilt with affection and food of course! The work we took on ranged from cleaning, laundry, ironing, gardening and on one occasion some removals work. We worked for a flexible 4-5 hours most days and had 2 days off each week which we could choose ourselves and we used this time to explore the stunning Mornington Peninsula and to find jobs in the city. Fran and her family have set the bar extremely high for our first workaway experience and we can't thank them enough for the stepping stone they gave us for getting set up in Australia.

I had the best experience with Fran and her family. The work was very fair, I was given a lot of flexibility for choosing my own times and which jobs to complete on the day.
The accommodation was luxury to say the least!
The meals Fran made and supplied were delicious! You will not go hungry!

The house is not far from the beach and is a must when you stay with her!

Fran is a lovely woman, we got to know each other before our stay via video call, which was really nice.
We stayed in her house in Sorrento for 10 days and really enjoyed the quiet and nice location. We even had our on grannyflat and a little car.

We spent three wonderful weeks in Sorrento. Fran is very welcoming and she takes care of her volunteers. We directly felt like home.

… read more is a quiet little town at off-season but lovely. I did a lot of hiking along the coastal tracks, if there wasn´t to bad autumn weather. I enjoyed my stay very much and I never starved.
