  Hi, we’re Xania and Craig and we’ve been running our ‘relaxingly active’ holidays on the idyllic Croatian Island of Vis since 2004. Our concept came to us organically, who doesn't love good food, cake, daily adventures and time to relax. Add that to being lucky enough to have found this beautiful island, which we didn't want to leave, our small business was formed. We offer a variety of guided activities for a small group of 8 guests from our renovated stone house. This is not a hotel, but a home from home; to sleep, eat, relax and be active while on summer holiday. Our main aim is to share the beauty of Vis island by kayak, bike, yoga and hiking. We also offer SUP tours and the chance to learn how to Slackline. We personally love exploring under our own steam while sharing this with guests to create holiday memories.
  
  Food is also very important to us and we prepare freshly cooked plant based, vegan and vegetarian meals.
  
  Our season starts at the end of May and finishes at the end of September.
  
  You will find yourself based close to the best beaches that Vis Island has to offer. There is plenty of time to make the most of living for the summer next to the clearest of seas and with the option to immerse yourself in Croatian Island life. We provide an apartment that's about 500m from our base, allowing you a space to relax and make your home for the summer season. We also provide use of equipment such as bikes, kayaks and paddle boards.
  
  We also have a very calm sweet Croatian Island dog, called Zora, who loves to fish, swim and relax during the day.

  We are based in a small village so you will get the chance to learn some basic Croatian language. We will also teach you to make some great vegan meals, take a group for a kayak or lead a small group on a biking trip. You will have the chance to learn how to fully maintain a mountain bike and make a great pot of coffee, sometimes at the same time. You'll get the chance gain an insight into running a small activity company. We pride ourselves on being able to multi task, while sharing an 'air' of calmness to our guests, this we can teach someone in buckets! You will also get a chance to experience Croatian Island life, 'pomalo' means slowly, slowly and it's used often on the island of Vis.

  Arbeit

  We are on the search for an extra member of our team for this summer. We are looking for someone to join us from the 25th May to the end of September. If you are a people loving and multi-talented (can go from making breakfast to fixing bikes, cleaning the balcony to loading up kayaks on the land rover!) then maybe a summer with us in Croatia would suit you. We would like help in making our guests happy, from assisting with preparing the breakfast, organising the groups to get ready for a day of kayaking, help with cleaning and hosting. We will also teach you to make some great vegan meals, take a group for a kayak or lead a small group on a biking trip. You'll get the chance to meet some of the locals, sample some island wine and gain an insight into running a small activity company. We also have really interesting guests who we often find inspiring, we hope you get the chance to meet them this summer.
  
  We are looking for someone to join our team starting on the 25th May until October as a paid position of 40 hours a week. We will provide an apartment, which is separate from the base and allows plenty of privacy and beautiful views of the bay. The wage will be in accordance to at least the minimum wage and we will pay overtime if required. We would also consider a couple for the role, but it would then be 20hrs per person.
  
  Monthly Pay: In accordance with Croatian regulations and also includes accommodation and food (when we are serving meals to the guests) and use of equipment such as bike, kayak, paddle board.
  
  
  Hosting.
  
  This role involves being a practical and diligent host. You will both work alongside Craig and myself to ensure that it is a safe, welcoming environment for our guests. Strong housekeeping and customer service skills required. We have fantastic reviews which always compliment our personalised experience. We’re not a hotel, we consider our place to be a shared house experience, we eat with the guests and we also guide them on the daily activities like kayaking, paddle boarding or biking. The role also requires some help with the cleaning, Saturday is our changeover day and we are all involved in the clean and preparation for the new guest arrival.
  
  Kitchen Help.
  
  We are very proud of the importance that the food has within the experience. Xania does most of the plant based cooking , but part of the role will be assisting occasionally in the kitchen, with breakfast preparation in the morning. Ability to sometimes bake a cake would also be a huge help!
  
  Activity Help.
  
  We will occasionally with larger groups need assistance with the kayaking and biking. During the summer season, we can help with paddle and biking skills if there is an interest in helping with activities. There will also be help needed in loading equipment onto the landrover, maintenance of equipment and providing assistance to for our guests.
  
  OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  
  Must be a friendly, open minded ‘people’ person. You will spend a lot of time with our lovely guests from all over the world. A willingness to start conversation and a love of meeting people is necessary.
  Must have prior hospitality experience
  A driving licence would be beneficial
  Must be a quick learner
  Love of the outdoors, especially the sea and a desire to encourage sustainable travel
  Good understanding of practical skills
  A passion for keeping things clean!
  English speaking
  EU Passport or A Croatian work visa
  
  We all work hard but you should see it as a lifestyle – we are not “staff” in the narrow sense of the word; it’s very much a “team” effort! We get to live in a stunning Island location, bike down the ‘road’ to pick up the bread, kayak to remote bays, meet really interesting people and eat great vegan food.

  Unterkunft

  We offer a double apartment, with Wifi, a balcony with a kitchen. Breakfast and lunch is provided with the guests. You do however have the chance to cook your own meals on the evenings you are not working.

  If you love the sea, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, biking and being immersed in nature then Vis is the island to be. Vis town also has a thriving summer island vibe, with the chance to meander on the waterfront, watch live music and share a glass of island wine in one of the small bars. The area that your accommodation is in is a quiet area that is close to the beaches. We also are happy for you to use the Landrover to explore the island on the days and evenings that it's not being used for the guests.
