We are an intentional community. It is the home of some 11 adults and 6 children who live, work and have fun together. We live together because by sharing and co-operating, we manage to live more lightly on the land and our lives are enriched in many ways.
We are privileged to live in a large manor house in rural Devon with 6 acres of land, historic walled gardens and orchards and a paddock which is used for camping. We grow as much of our own food as we can in the walled gardens, outside and indoor growing space, including two poly-tunnels and a greenhouse. We also keep chickens and bees.
Everything we do is developed with an awareness of the impact of our work and lives on the environment. We recycle as much waste as we can and strive to reduce our consumption of energy. We grow our own vegetables and fruit organically. We have compost toilets which we encourage visitors to use, and we process our sewage with a reed bed sewage treatment system.
We have a biomass boiler and wood burning stoves for heating, as well as a wind turbine and solar panels.
We regularly host volunteers to help us and to be able to share our lovely space, and to share skills and experiences and to enable people to see what living in a community is like. We love the new energy that volunteers bring and we value what they contribute and the cultural exchange.

The focus is to provide our volunteers with an experience of community living. We work hard to ensure our volunteers feel happy and at home here whilst having the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and go home with some great memories.

Caravans and camping ( tents and beds provided) in the paddock.
Communal space - bathrooms, kitchen, dining and relaxing rooms.

We are in a beautiful part of rural Devon, with plenty of opportunities for walking in the countryside and on the moors and beaches. We are close to a market town and the historic city of Exeter, which has a university and everything you would expect of a city.
Nearby in the village is a lovely pub, and at home we are able to organise film nights, music etc.
There are local trains and buses.
