Vom Workawayer (Emilia) für Host
Für alle Leute die schon mehrere Stellen bei Workaway hatten, wird schnell klar, dass dieses hier wirklich unter vergleichsweisen Luxusbedingungen stattfindet!
Ein ganzes Haus (meistens) komplett für sich, mit großem Bett, Fernseher, Sofa, eigener Kochecke…
Man blickt bis runter zum Meer und manchmal sogar über die Wolkendecke!
Außerdem ist der
… read more süße Ort Las Tricias ganz in der Nähe. Dort gibt es einen kleinen Laden, ein ausgezeichnetes Café und es ist ein super Wanderstart.
Von der Umgebung abgesehen, haben mich auch Claudia und Volker super nett willkommen geheißen! Die Arbeit war nie zu anstrengend und immer sehr gut in der Zeit schaffbar.
Trotz teilweise deutlich gegensätzlicher politischer Einstellungen war ein sehr gutes Miteinander möglich.
Bei der Hin-und Abreise hat mich Volker netterweise nach Puntagorda gefahren. Und von Claudias Backwaren konnte ich auch glücklicherweise kosten :)
Ich würde diese Stelle auf jeden Fall für eine entspannte und naturnahe Zeit auf der Insel empfehlen.

It was just the right time because the garden was in a really bad state after a severe storm with lots of rain and hail at Christmas 2024. Lottie was a great help to us for 13 days. During this time, she pruned old vines and made sure that our garden was neat and tidy again after rain and storms. Lottie carefully swept paths and seating areas and weeded every day. She fed our cats and treated them with great affection. In addition, Lottie cleaned the wooden house as well as the sash

The suroundings are so beautiful and in las Tricias there is a nice café and a little supermercado. But Volker was happy to take me to the bigger shop or to bring something with him.

… read more variety. The working hours are approximately 4 hours per day and on weekends you are free to explore the beautiful island or discover new hiking trails. You get to sleep in a great, large wooden hut with your own kitchenette, bathroom, and sleeping and living area including a TV with lots of DVDs. We had wonderful, fun conversations and it felt like we had known each other forever from the first minute. Not to forget Claudia's excellent cooking and baking skills. You will love it, I promise. I thank them both for this wonderful time, great experience, and can only recommend them wholeheartedly to everyone. Unfortunately, Jule had to leave us at short notice after 14 days due to a sad family matter.

Claudia and Volker were so kind to help me out last minute after my first workaway project on the island didn't work out. I stayed with them for 14 days, which allowed me to see a lot of the island.
I stayed in a lovely wooden cabin that I had to myself. It was spotlessly clean when I arrived and all the facilities (including a kitchen and
… read more bathroom) worked great. The house is in beautiful countryside but you can walk to the little town nearby to get the bus all over the island.
Claudia and Volker were so welcoming and helpful. They gave me lifts to town to get my groceries every week and also offered to drop me off in places if they were going that way. It is definitely possible to stay here without a car (but you will get strong legs from walking up and down the hills!)
The work they gave me was good and very manageable and they made sure i was okay and knew what to do. I worked for the expected hours or less if I got something done quicker and I never felt like they were taking advantage. Claudia is also an amazing baker and shared her delicious cakes and bread :))
I would definitely recommend staying with Claudia and Volker to anyone looking for a calm but adventurous time. I had a beautiful little wooden house with a humble kitchen and a bathroom all to myself! with beautiful views where every day I enjoyed the sunsets and said goodbye to the sun sitting next to the avocado tree.
From the moment I entered the farm I felt it like a place of refuge for my soul.
The work has been very flexible from pruning, sweeping dry leaves or planting trees (typical field work) all done without pressure or rush giving me a lot of time to enjoy and take care of myself.
I could continue writing only wonders about them and the place, without a doubt I will return.
