  Hey Travellers! We are a Sicilian couple with a cute 2 years hold baby. After a period of travels and experiences around the world, we decided to come back to the native land and start growing an alternative and holistic way to live. We found a gorgeous place just in front the Alcantara river and to the foot of "mamma" Etna, half hectare to design and arrange, with a small apple wood, a vegetable garden and several other tree fruits. We live in a cozy house where we have an extra room for the guests but In the warmer period we use to host in a tend; the outside space is organize with all the basic needs: compost toilet, shower and kitchen.
  
  We would like to become as much sustainable in a couple years and start an eco-hosting activity which will include retreat, music, teatre, clown, outdoor education for kids, openspace art gallery, green therapy, holistic techniques…
  
  So works to do are several: farming, building, maintenance, arts....
  Our lifestyle is simple; genuine food, good vibes and respect of nature and being, humans and animals.
  
  If you would like to support us and help in this start-up phase with your skills and essense you are more than welcome!
  
  P.s. Especially welcomed experts in building with wood and other natural materials or with previous experience in farming
  
  We prefer workaway Wich would like to stay at least tree weeks, but depending of needs we are flexible ;)
  
  Ciao viaggiatori! Siamo una coppia siciliana, con una bimba meravigliosa, che dopo un periodo di viaggi ed esperienze in giro per il mondo ha deciso di tornare nella propria terra natia e iniziare a coltivare un modo di vivere alternativo e olistico.
  Abbiamo trovato un posto meraviglioso tra il fiume Alcantara e la maestosa ”mamma” Etna, mezzo ettaro di terreno da sistemare, piantumare e su cui progettare. Al momento c'è già un bosco di mele e diversi alberi da frutto, e un bell’orto da curare. Nel resto del terreno stiamo iniziando a piantare e abbiamo iniziato con la realizzazione di spazi dedicati all'ospitalità semplice.
  
  Viviamo in una casa accogliente dove abbiamo una stanza in più per gli ospiti ma nel periodo estivo preferiamo ospitare in tenda; lo spazio esterno é già organizzato con compost toilet, doccia e cucina.
  
  Vorremmo diventare il più sostenibili possibili in un paio d'anni e iniziare un'attività di eco-hosting che includerà; ritiri, musica, teatro, clown, educazione all'aperto per bambini, galleria d'arte tra gli alberi, diverse tecniche olistiche e terapia…o terrapia come ci piace definirla a noi.
  
  Qui i lavori da fare sono diversi: agricoltura, costruzioni, manutenzione, arte, musica…
  Il nostro stile di vita è semplice: cibo genuino, armonia e rispetto della natura e per tutti gli esseri viventi. Vivere qui per noi è anche l’essere guardiani di questo luogo e specialmente della valle e del fiume alcantara, del suo flusso e della sua vegetazione.
  
  Se vuoi supportarci e aiutarci in questa fase di start-up con le tue abilità e la tua essenza, sei più che benvenuto!
  
  p.s. Particolarmente graditi esperti in costruzione con legno e altri materiali naturali o con precedenti esperienze in agricoltura
  
  Preferiamo workaway che vogliono stare almeno due settimane ma dipende dal da farsi siamo flessibili!

  We are living in a gorgeous place in a country side of Sicily, between the beauty of Alcantara river and the power of Etna. Near by a unique and original town, Castiglione di Sicilia where you will discover and live the authenticity of south Italy.
  Staying with us will be an exchange, we will learn together and one from each other, we will work, play, have fun and grown…
  Especially you will learn:
  - To recognize and collect edible plants
  - To harvest seasonal fruits and vegetables
  - How to transform fruit and vegetables and do jam, creams, detergent and more natural
  cosmetics and soap
  - How to manage and design a garden
  - How to prune
  
  
  Viviamo in un posto meraviglioso in una campagna della Sicilia, tra la bellezza del fiume Alcantara e la potenza dell'Etna. Vicino ad un paesino genuinamente caratteristico ritenuto uno dei borghi più belli d’Italia, Castiglione di Sicilia, dove scoprirete e vivrete l'autenticità del sud Italia.
  Stare con noi sarà uno scambio; impareremo insieme e uno dall'altro, lavoreremo,suoneremo, ci divertiremo e cresceremo…
  Sarà come continuare a viaggiare stando a casa anche per noi :)
  In particolare quello che sappiamo e stiamo imparando saremo contenti di condividerlo con te, potrai imparare a:
  - Riconoscere e raccogliere verdura e piante commestibili
  - Raccogliere frutta e verdure di stagione
  - Trasformare frutta e verdura in marmellate, creme, dadi, ma anche a fare detersivi dagli
  scarti e diversi altri cosmetici naturali, saponi etc
  - Pianificare e creare un orto e un semenzaio
  - Potare

  Arbeit

  Works to do will change according the period of the year you will stay with us,
  Mainly the activities will be:
  
  - Removing weeds, cutting grass and prune
  - Planting and Harvesting
  - Doing maintenance to the structures (fences, windows, water tank...)
  - Watering the plants and flowers
  - Keeping the contryside (paths, stone walls, irrigation channels, lights, etc..)
  - Keeping the house (painting, masonry work, electrical circuits, hydraulic, etc.).
  -Helping to build some bio-costruction, warehouse, external kitchen, compost toilet....
  -Helping with animals,feed and care
  -Share your art: music, painting, yoga, massage…
  
  I lavori da fare cambieranno in base al periodo dell'anno in cui starai con noi,
  Principalmente le attività saranno:
  
  - Rimozione di erbacce, rovi e cardi
  - Potare
  - Aiutare nelle piantumazioni e raccolte di stagione
  - Innaffiare piante e fiori
  - Mantenimento della campagna e delle strutture (sentieri, recinzioni, muri in pietra, gebbia, luci, ecc..)
  - Manutenzione della casa (tinteggiatura, opere murarie, circuiti elettrici, idraulici, ecc.).
  -Aiutare a realizzare alcune biocostruzioni, magazzino, cucina esterna, compost toilet....
  -Aiuto con gli animali
  -Condividi la tua arte: musica, pittura, yoga, massaggi...

  Unterkunft

  In the winter period we will host you in a private/shared room inside our home. In the summer period could be possible to sleep with tend in the apple wood. Is possible also to stay in your camper, if you have one. Any case you can use shared kitchen and toilet. Meals will be shared all together.
  
  Ne periodo più freddo sarà possibile dormire a casa nostra, nella stanza privata (che in caso di più ospiti potrebbe diventare condivisa).
  Nel periodo estivo invece si potranno montare le tende nel boschetto di mele, e usufruire del bagno e cucina condivisi all’interno della casa. Se hai un camper puoi parcheggiarlo qui vicino.
  I pasti saranno in modalità condivisa

  Our place is almost 30 min walk from a closer bus stop which connects Castiglione di Sicilia with several other nearby towns, the main one most popular is Taormina. Is easily reachable by car, bike or moto, organization with local transportation can be a little bit more complicated but still possible during the day. The Closest Airport is Catania Fontanarossa and the closest train station is Taormina/Giardini Naxos or Alcantara. Once you will schedule your travel we will help you to find the best way to reach us or if it is possible we will come pick you some defined point.
  
  From our home several naturalistic hiking starts, we are super close to the Alcantara gurne, check photos to understand what i’m talking about.
  So if you like peace, silence, nature and trekking this is a great place for you.
  If you are a party and city lover, I don't think this is the right place for you.
  
  Also we love play music, create, and celebrate...especially for the full moon with fire and sings.
  
  
  
  Casa nostra è a circa 30 minuti a piedi dalla fermata dell'autobus più vicina che collega Castiglione di Sicilia con molti altri paesi vicini, il principale più popolare è Taormina. È facilmente raggiungibile in auto, bici o moto, l'organizzazione con i mezzi locali può essere un po' più complicata ma comunque sarà possibile durante la mattina. L'aeroporto più vicino è Catania Fontanarossa e la stazione ferroviaria più vicina è Taormina/Giardini Naxos o Alcantara. Una volta programmato il tuo viaggio ti aiuteremo a trovare il modo migliore per raggiungerci o se è possibile verremo a prenderti in un punto concordato.
  
  Da casa nostra partono diverse escursioni naturalistiche, siamo anche vicinissimi alle Gurne dell'Alcantara.
  Quindi, se ti piace la pace, il silenzio, la natura e il trekking, questo è un posto fantastico per te.
  Se invece sei un amante delle feste e della città, non credo che questo sia il posto giusto per te.
  
  Inoltre ci piace suonare, inventare, creare e celebrare....specialmente nei giorni di luna piena con fuoco e canti.
