Im in my late 30s and live alone in Northeast Vermont on 15 acres in the mountains, fully dependant on myself for my snow removal, firewood, maintenance, and everything else. My property has an amazing view and is surrounded by forested mountainside. Amenities are within 30 minutes of driving and the best mountains for skiing/snowboarding on the east coast are within a 45 minute drive, as well as the canadian border. Montreal is the closest city at 2.5 hours and Quebec city sits 3.5 hours north.

I dont have any pets due to allergies. The small town where my home is can be reached within 7 minutes of driving, gas is 7 minutes in the other direction. Both towns close to me have stores and 1 is well known for quality meats, among the numerous farms that surround me. Im a handy person working as an arborist/small scale logger and vehicle mechanic and used to doing projects alone, I could teach you some stuff if you would like to learn/ lend a hand.

I need help in the winter with keeping the house heated. This involves loading/cleaning the wood boiler and wood stove and shoveling snow off the stairs and doorway especially when I leave Vermont. My children live several states away so I am looking to leave as much as possible to be around them and you would have the place to yourself during that time. I basically just need to have someone there to keep the house heated and avoid the pipes from freezing.

A furnished and clean guest room will be your accomodation, I keep everything tidy and floors swept every day/dishes done as well. Smoking weed/cigarettes is cool with me just not indoors. The house is fully wood heated with geothermal and a wood stove. Also have a 10x20 cabin with a wood stove off grid on the property. This place is what I think of as the best area of Vermont and the most culturally New England farm country town in the whole state.

Will provide accommodation and good food (I am a very good cook and have learned alot of recipes traveling the world). I am a snowboarder and like to ride the park/woods/side hits on trail mostly, spending alot of time at a friend's rope tow park.

Done a lot of traveling would be great to host fellow travelers who are reliable with chores and know how to use a wood stove.

Get to experience real winter, snowboarding/skiing access to backcountry, learn new skills, I do logging/tree climbing in the warmer months and do in depth repairs on machines and vehicles of all sorts if you would like to learn that. I have worked all over some of the best parts of Vermont and can show you around and get you a real experience of the state.

I have lived in Siberia for a year and Turkey for 14 months, speak Russian fluently as well as some Turkish. Also speak Spanish somewhat fluently due to working with alot of Spanish speakers. Alot of travel to Europe and serving alongside the Lüftwaffe has taught me some German. I love learning about other cultures having spent alot of time with people from other countries.

Enjoy outdoors activities around the property, go to the local mountains (Stowe, Jay Peak, etc ), snowshoeing, let me show you around some good spots, etc. I can drive you around and I work in Stowe in the winter usually so you are free to catch a ride with me.
