  Hello from Istria! 🍂
  This autumn, we are looking for a reliable person or couple who can genuinely help us with some tasks inside our old Istrian stone house.
  My husband is no longer able to do the whitewashing and physical tasks around the house as he used to, and I also cannot manage all of the tasks on my own. That is why we are looking for someone who is happy to give us a helping hand.
  The main tasks are whitewashing selected walls and areas and helping with the cleaning afterwards. This includes removing the masking tape, cleaning floors and surfaces, and helping to put the rooms back in order. Because our house has many beautiful natural stone walls, this is not about painting entire rooms from top to bottom. The work is mainly focused on individual walls and areas that need freshening up.
  The first priority will be the room where you will stay, followed by the WC and other areas of the house. We will work together and decide what can realistically be done during your stay.
  We are not looking for someone to do a renovation on their own, but we do need someone who is genuinely willing to help with these tasks. In return, you will have your own private room, breakfast and dinner, Wi-Fi and plenty of free time to enjoy Istria.
  For us, Workaway is about a fair exchange: you help us with work that we can no longer manage on our own, and we provide a comfortable place to stay, meals and the opportunity to experience everyday life in Istria.

  We love spending time with our Workawayers and want them to feel like part of our home, not just like helpers. We enjoy eating meals together, chatting over coffee or in the garden, and sharing everyday life in Croatia.
  We can show you the beautiful Istrian region, recommend lovely beaches, walking and cycling routes, local markets and traditional food. You will have the opportunity to experience life in a small Croatian village close to the Slovenian border and the Adriatic Sea.
  Rainer speaks German only, so we are looking for German-speaking Workawayers. We enjoy sharing our life experiences, cooking together and learning about your culture, traditions and favourite recipes. We are always interested in hearing about life in other countries and exchanging ideas.
  Our goal is that both hosts and Workawayers learn from each other, have a good time together and create wonderful memories.

  We provide our Workawayers with breakfast and dinner every day.
  
  Breakfast is simple and relaxed, while dinner is usually a warm, home-cooked meal that we enjoy together.
  
  During the day, Workawayers are welcome to prepare something for themselves. They can use the kitchen and basic food supplies are available.
  
  For us, dinner is also a nice opportunity to sit together, chat about the day and enjoy some time together. 😊

  Our place is located right next to the Parenzana cycling route, making it easy to reach us by bike. It’s a scenic and popular trail that passes close to our home, so arriving by bicycle is simple and enjoyable for travelers following this route.

  Mac

  Mac is our 15-year-old Chihuahua–Terrier mix with a big personality in a small body. He is calm and observant, and he likes to take his time when meeting new people, preferring to approach situations in his own way.
  Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys gentle company and being near people he trusts, but he also values his independence and quiet moments. Because of his age, he is happiest in a peaceful environment with a relaxed daily rhythm.
