  Hello,
  
  I am an easy going person, non-smoker and non-drinker. I have 3 grown-up kids, and 7 grandchildren. I currently live alone and have a stable life, without any issues or any problems.
  
  Currently, my main focus on my own life. Getting to know people, cultural exchanges, respect for others, mindful discussions as well as learning new languages, is very important for me.
  
  My former profession is Network Security and Project Management. I have always been successful in my tasks and have good experience. Few years ago I decided to change my focus, to put the focus on myself and my daily life. By this I´ve managed to stay connected to nature and do real things - i.e. to live every day in a normal way. Overall, this has turned out to be the right decision for me, and I am looking for people who are like minded - who want to to explore the world, getting to know other cultures and who see value in themselves.
  
  My hobbies include dancing Argentine tango and outdoor activities. For this I occasionally travel abroad, to be part of a bigger tango scene. I also love to travel within Iceland and going to remote quiet places. After all, it´s one of the best country in my mind.
  
  I live in the city of Reykjavik where I own a well located nice flat in area 00104, and a small studio apartment in the same house. Also, I have a summerhouse where I occasionally stay during the period of May-Oct. each year. It´s in my private 1.6 hectares forest area, which is inside a big family farm called Eyri. Overall, the area is very private, beautiful and quiet, just about 45 minutes drving to the north from the city of Reykjavik. The cabin is really cozy, warm and comfortable - all photos on this website of the cabin and it´s surroundings are from 2025.
  
  In the cabin, there is a high speed WiFi internet, based on an optical fibre connection. This is rare in summerhouses in Iceland.
  
  My main goal is cultural exchanges. I have a good knowledge of my country and it´s history. I am also speak Icelandic well and correctly. It´s a complicated language which some of the natives strive with writing and speaking correctly. I love to give people advices and teach them some Icelandic. I also love to learn and improve in other languages, especially Italian, and as well Spanish and French etc. This cabin doesn´t have a TV. Instead useful discussion are preferred during the evenings and quiet moments.
  
  Therefore I welcome anyone to stay at my summerhouse, with the win-win of langueges and cultural exchanges and meanwhile staying there helping me with the forestry garden of this property. I will supply a place to stay here and people can explore the area. Often, they can join me to the city of Reykjavik when I go there.
  
  In exchange of your help for a work up to 4-5 hours per day, I will suppy three meals per day during 5 help days/week and Saturdays and Sundays although no work these days, and a place for you to stay in the cabin. Shared breakfast, lunch and a dinner is included. Shopping list will be according to wishes of you Workawayers, but within a reasonable selection range. We cook together or we decide who cooks each time. Ingredients or a stipend is provided for Workawayers if you want to cook for yourselves.
  
  In the future, my dream is to have chickens to have daily eggs, even a goat ))
  
  Notice, this cabin is my own property, for my private use. I do not rent it out, but occasionally friends and family stay there outside the workaway periods.
  
  I will be there most of the time and interect with you directly. If needed, I will contact you via phone, What´sApp etc.
  
  For the people helping me, I am open to host them for some days, before and after, in my property in the city.
  
  I am looking forward to start this journey of a small and vibrant community.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  Cultural exchange is important for me and to learn each other´s languages and history of our counties. I have a good knowledge of Iceland, our history and culture where to go, what to see etc, and can give recomendations from my own experience. I can teach you some Icelandic, and for me it would be nice to learn some Italian, Spanish, French or eventually Ukrainian. However, this is not an requriement from my side.
  
  In between, I will take you to nearby places, the city, the countryside swimming pools etc.

  Arbeit

  The trees grow fast and I need to groom the trees by cutting down many of the Aspen and Pine trees. Currently the trees are far from fully grown and the average trees diameter is around 5-20 cm. The work consist of collecting smaller branches and logs, to pile them up so they can be removed later. It´s a relatively easy and safe work. I myself will do the treecutting with a chainsaw, cut off the branches, so they can be stacked in a pile.I will also carry the heavies log myself, or we join forces together to pile them up.
  
  The forestry help is not related to any businesses and is not meant to replace paid work. It´s a part of living on this property with thriving surroundings, such as make the grounds for planting Icelandic species like Birch (in Icelandic Björk), growing vegatables, flowers, etc.
  
  Included is also common household tasks, to work and thrive together as a small community.
  
  This is a great way to learn and do simple tasks. Expected help is max 20 hours per week and weekend are off.

  Unterkunft

  A timber cabin, warm and well isolated. Fiber optic very fast internet connection, steady grid based electricity, outdoor shower. Surrounded be a foresty area of 1.65 hectares. This is not in an organized summerhouse are, but private property inside a the farm property and has therefore connection to farming activities.
  
  Notice, the shower is outdoor in the back of the house. In my mind the best shower in Iceland with pure very warm water and the private forest, and the mountain up from the hills, in front of you!

  Was noch ...

  There is a beautiful water fall nearby, and an evening walk to there is perfect. Also, possibilites to walk upp to the mountain hills above the land. My family owns the farm, so there are more possibilites open than for outsiders.
  
  Apart from walking around the area, if you have a car, this is a perfect base to travel around south and west part of Iceland. To see places like Snæfellsnes, Þingvellir, Húsafell, beatiful nearby valley of Skorradalur, towns such as Borgarnes and Akranes etc.
