We have an older home in the countryside on the outskirts of Caledonia Ontario that we are slowly trying to renovate and make our forever homestead. We raise chickens with our 2 children and are trying to grow as much of our own produce in our own organic raised garden beds. Caledonia is a small but vibrant town on the banks of the Grand river, famous for excellent fishing and beautiful kayaking, stunning country bike rides on our door step and only an hour from Toronto and Niagara Falls we are centrally positioned for what ever kind of exploration you’re into.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Any travellers staying with us will most certainly be exposed to a variety of different experiences. I’m originally from the Uk and have travelled extensively in my life, I’m always fascinated by other cultures and learning from them aswell as sharing my experiences from my travels. My wife is Canadian and loves to cook, we both work full time but are usually home around 5pm to cook dinner which you are more than welcome to join us with. You’re also welcome to use as many fresh eggs and any seasonal produce for you’re breakfast and lunches. We have bikes for you to use and a kayak and fishing equipment to explore the nearby grand river. The city of Toronto and Niagara Falls are all within easy reach via public transport from the nearby city of hamilton, which we can drop you at if we’re heading that direction. We also own an off grid property in northern Ontario that we may require help with from time to time if the timing works.

Arbeit
We need help with all kinds of projects in and around our small but busy 2 acre property. Everything from collecting the eggs from the chickens, feeding and watering them, organic gardening, grass cutting, swimming pool cleaning, painting and DIY projects. Dog walking and animal care. Previous experience would be an asset but most of the help we need is very basic and I can help guide and instruct. I work as a general contractor and have many years or experience and knowledge to pass onto whoever cares to learn. We’d also like our children to meet and Interact with people from other cultures and different languages although having a basic understanding of English would be beneficial.

Unterkunft
You will have the use of you’re own pool house on our property and use of the pool anytime you’re not helping out. The pool house is a tiny but gorgeous home that has a guest Kitchen and composting toilet. You will have unlimited access to the main house lower level where a full bathroom/ shower is available.
You will have full high speed internet access aswell as tv And Netflix in the pool house.

My wife and I are super easygoing fun loving people who like to live a drama free life. Anyone staying here will need to be self sufficient and comfortable taking on new challenges and opportunities to learn. We are non smokers and keep a clean and tidy home and would hope that is something you take pride in aswell.
You will be expected to work 5 hours a day 5 days a week with weekends off to explore all that our amazing part of the world has to offer, or simply lounge by the pool, relax in the gardens or sit by the campfire and enjoy the stars at night. We look forward to meeting you and sharing experiences together.
