  With several years now benefitting from Workaway, we are used to share our space and are always looking froward to getting to know (young) people from abroad. Before, we have had live-in helpers in our 7 years in Asia and after that in Germany (Au pairs, students etc.), adding up to over 25 years of enjoyable help and companionship. Today, we live in Hofheim, right in the middle of Germany, close to Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Mainz. Since our kids are grown and only come occasionally for a visit, it is only my husband and me - plus our two lovely dogs in a beautiful big old villa. So we are happy to welcome an interested and curious workawayer.
  
  Although my husband and I are officially retired, our life is quite busy and filled with trips, events, and a variety of activities. Therefore we would very much appreciate some additional support in looking after our dogs, our garden and - to a limited degree - our home.
  
  Hofheim is a really nice, medium-sized city with shops, bars, restaurants, a cinema, a language school etc. – almost everything you might want or need. The neighborhood is very friendly and our location very convenient: 300 meters to the forest, less than a 10 minute walk to town and to the train station. Frankfurt is a 20 minute train ride.

  The language school in Hofheim offers a broad range of courses, and you have time to attend a German class. Since we have an open house, you will have the opportunity to get to know German culture and lifestyle from different aspects.
  
  Frankfurt has the impressive Goethe University with its 48.000 students where I have been very involved. There are many interesting events and readings open to the public, so you can easily go and have a look. You may even consider to enroll at the university!
  
  (Classical) Music is another big field of interest for us. In case you share that, we would love to take you to the occasional concert. In our house, we have a grand piano which you could play.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for someone who walks the dogs in the afternoon in the nearby forest and meadows and looks after them whenever we travel (i.e. feeding, playing, walking). Speaking of travelling: Sometimes we would ask you to drive to the airport, the train station in Frankfurt or just for some close-by errands. So, a driving license is a must. And last but not least, there is always some work to do in the garden, mainly cutting and weeding. We have cleaning help for the household but here and there I could use a hand, according to your skills and interest. Ideally, the workawayer would stay with us for 2 months or longer.

  Unterkunft

  You will have the privacy of a downstairs room plus connected bathroom, with direct entrance to the garden, where you can come and go as you wish. We share the kitchen and I provide food and cook lunch.

  Was noch ...

  There is lots to see and do here. Hiking and biking is great, and the Taunus hills as well as the vineyards along the Rhine river with its beautiful small towns are worth a visit. In Frankfurt you have lots of options for leisure activities and cultural life. With us being situated so centrally, you can easily travel to any place in Germany and explore the country. Any workawayer would have plenty of time to visit places in their spare time.
