Our hostel is located in the Southern Pacific Zone of Costa Rica is sustainable and eco-friendly. We built our treehouses, dorms, and cabinas using building materials harvested from within a 30-mile radius; we use biodegradable soaps in our washing machines and kitchen that drains into a pond filtration greywater system; we compost all organic matter; and we have chickens that fertilize the soil, eat up food scraps, and provide pest control.
This is your home while you are here. Long-term travelers and short-term vacationers alike come here and feel safe and comfortable and are able to rejuvenate while also exploring all our beautiful slice of the planet has to offer. Hammocks suspended between mango trees, indoor and outdoor lounge spaces, bar and restaurant, a well-stocked and open communal kitchen, bouldering wall, and slack line are all available on site.
The house makes a great base camp for exploring Marino Ballena National Marine Park, which is a 5-minute walk away where guests can surf, snorkel, scuba dive, or relax on the beach; the mountains and jungles of Costa Ballena; nearby waterfalls and wildlife watching; as well as activities in Uvita and Bahia such as the Farmer’s Market and local shops and restaurants.

We are seeking motivated, friendly, and open-minded individuals to participate in our work exchange program. The bulk of the work is customer service and hospitality oriented, which involves taking reservations; greeting, guiding, and assisting guests from all over the world; housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and general upkeep of common areas and guest rooms.
Because of the extensive training required, we have a 2 month minimum commitment.
Crew members receive a bed, pillow, linens, towel, and use of laundry facilities at the hostel for the duration of their exchange, and free use of the crew surfboards, bikes, and snorkel equipment. We do provide breakfast with discounts on dinner and other items sold. The crew also has full use of the communal kitchen. There is no daily or weekly fee charged to crew members.
