WorkAways to help with guests, on-going repairs, renovation and in family home.
My children and I are looking for conscientious volunteers to join a happy team to help in our holiday accommodation business right in the heart of the English Lake District about 2 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. The house is both our home and business with B&B and self-catering accommodation.
We have about 3 acres of woodland, garden, river (with fishing rights) and vegetable garden. Two dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, guinea-pigs & geese. Jeronime a qualified and experienced EFL teacher and naturally will support your language development.
Our house is ALWAYS a very busy. Jeronime is a busy single mum busy with 4 kids living at home and a business. Our family loves walking the Fells, sailing, climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, camping, fishing & BBQs on the Lakeside....and the rain!
Basically, if you can do it outdoors... you can do it in Keswick, the Adventure Capital of the UK.

We need WorkAways who are independent, conscientious, who think for themselves and are happiest starting at 9am!
We love WorkAways who would like to stay long term, this gives you more opportunity to make real friends, and really become part of a community.
We are really happy to be flexible regarding hours/days per week and if you have the right UK work permit, we can help you find part-time work in Keswick.
Applicants need to be 21 years old or over to be included on our insurance.
If you are applying from within the EU please ensure that you have a EU health card AND that you have dental insurance as this is NOT covered by the NHS in the UK.

English, French, some German, some Japanese, Arabic
Until September you will be EITHER sleeping in a small twin room which you will share with another WorkAway.
It is above the kitchen in our house and is visually private HOWEVER you will be able to hear the noises from the room below so it would be good if you are happy getting up early.
We can accommodate you in a big tent, a really cute treehouse which we will renovate to make it a really lovely bedroom in a tree / an old caravan that is basic but which we will gradually renovate to rent on Air B&B.
I am sorry but we cannot have your friends to stay overnight - I hope you understand.
You will either be sharing with other WorkAways or in our own house and be part of our family - team players are essential. You need to be very tidy, clean and very considerate. Because its quite a small house it just wont work with people who treat it like a hotel.
We are vegetarian so all your food will be veggie. We take it in turns either cooking / clearing up.
Keswick has a large international community who are very welcoming
In addition, there are many thriving small community groups which are free to join and very welcoming to newcomers: theatre, street theatre, knitting, walking, climbing, chess, archery. We have bicycles, canoes, kayaks for you to borrow. The River Greta runs through our garden. Just 7 miles away is Scarfell, the highest mountain in England plus lots of other fantastic walks and climbs.
