Description
I bought a big old house a couple of years ago. You will contribute in many ways just by being here. Mind you, it is a house and garden in progress... :-)
There is a lot of things to fix around the house and garden so there is always tasks to suit most peoples interests but what I the things I need help with the most is things that need some strength, fot example cutting the hedge, cleaning the goat stable, collect and burn branches, dig in the garden, help me move furniture, cut down bushes etc.
My interests are old houses, gardening, history, life, reading, knitting and sewing. I originate from Stockholm, where I have my family and most of my friends - I am a city girl who turned into a countryside spinster... :-) I am recovering from fatigue syndrom so my energy is sometimes limited.
I live with my dog, two cats and two goats.Types of help and learning opportunities
Help with Eco Projects
Gardening
DIY and building projects
Farmstay help
Creating/ Cooking family meals

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You will learn about Swedish food and culture, a bit of diy, planting and growing a vegetable garden etc. And, if you ask me, I think this part of Sweden have some really interesting history and culture...
Help
There is a lot of different things I need help with, from heavy garden work to easy diy.
I am looking for enthusiastic, perceptive people who know how to get things done. Willingness to learn and not afraid of hard work is appreciated. You have preferably some life experience in taking care of yourself and a home and whatever that involves...
Both indoor and outdoor help is welcome. You should be prepared to share some of the household tasks as well.
Things I need help with is in general;
- Help in the garden
- Painting and minor DIY indoor/outdoor
- Help where four hands is needed
I am flexible when the help is carried out - there are no set hours/day. The chores and your plans set the schedule.
Since covid I continue to do most of my regular work from home, I might be to the office 1-2 days a week. On weekdays you will therefore be on your own during daytime when I work but we always have dinner together. Over the weekend when I am off from work, I can help out so usually the workawayers that visit me take their days off during the week so we can work together during the weekend.Languages

The guest bed rooms are in the house. Bathroom/shower is shared.
I provide supplies for meals (breakfast, lunch, fika and dinner - snacks you have to provide yourself) and sheets and towels. We always have diner together. I am a vegetarian and my cooking is based on things like eggs, diary like butter and cream, vegetables, pasta, lintels, chickpeas, oatmeal etc. Sometimes chicken and fish. Please let me know if you have any food allergies - so I know if I can provide for you...
I rarely drink alcohol but if do you can bring your own. Drugs and intoxication are absolutely forbidden. Smoking is discouraged.
Cooking and doing the dishes are shared responsibilities. What else ...
I live in the countryside so there is quiet here. Not very much is happening besides every day life. I love it but it might not be for everyone. But if you like peace and quiet, being on your own, enjoy the outdoors this is a place for you.
There is a village sauna that is fired up every Saturday - men in the afternoon, ladies in the evening and the possibility to book private sauna after that. For me, Saturday evenings with a hot sauna is one of the highlights of the week.
There are ca 12 km to public transportation but I am used to pick up and drop off people who do not have their own means of transport.
There are plenty of forest trails for walking, hiking or biking. You can rent canoes not that far away (20 km?) and go for a canoe excursion for 1-3 days. There is the lovely archipelago around Karlskrona (40 km?) with good fishing waters and the beautiful city Kalmar (55 km?) on this side of the bridge to Öland. The "kingdom" of the Swedish glass it not far away from here. Some of the factories are still up and running.A little more information
