We fell in love with Laara the moment she arrived. She was cheerful, energetic, and ready to join the family. She became a part of the rhythm of our household and was constantly helping out. She saw what needed to be done and did it.

I stayed there for just short 11 days but it felt like being with family. I made new friends. Their large farm is amazing with all the animals, trees and lake right in front of the house. I became a dog lover because all their dogs are sooo loveable and friendly and let’s not forget the

Our dinners together were delicious, we had fun every day. Rich tells funny stories and has a totally great sense of humor. Therese is a great healer and I really appreciated the sessions with her. She is the perfect woman if you want to talk about spiritual things or herbalism. She has great knowledge about so many things! I am so grateful for the conversations and the time we spent together.
I helped with cleaning up the garage, organizing the pantry, laundry room, some cupboards, and I joined in a little bit with cooking.
A 4 hour kayak ride on the river was just one of the highlights of my stay there. I enjoyed sitting at the lake at night with a fire and gazing at the stars. There is no light pollution. The rides through the forest were exciting and fun, I was smiling all the time! There would be some nice hiking trails in the area too if you love the outdoors.
Therese and Rich, you were wonderful hosts - so caring and generous. Thank you very much for everything!!
My time here was absolutely amazing! Therese and Rich are both very fun to be around and laugh with. They are generous hosts and care about their workawayers and the experience they're having. The accommodations are very nice and there is plenty of privacy and space to spread out. Though you will probably find hanging with Rich and Therese to be
… read more so enjoyable you won't need to. They are both are full of gratitude and that made helping out around their place a joy. The work load was very attainable and I often gave more time than requested because I found myself wanting to contribute my energy to their projects.
We often went on evening rides through the trails on their property to watch the sunset and then we would make big dinners together and then jump in the pool. One day they even dropped us at the river for a day of kayaking. I think almost everyday there was someone visiting or something new and fun to do.
If you are considering going to their place you really couldn't ask for better hosts! For me, the experience was top notch and I've been doing work exchange off and on for almost 8 years.
Thank you Rich and Therese for an amazing time and I look forward to visiting in the future!
Andrew arrived as a stranger and left as a family member. We will be forever grateful for the month that he spent with us at the farm. He is easy going and always had a smile on his face. His energy was always so pleasant to be around.

I had the most marvelous 3 weeks staying with Therese and Rich on their beautiful farm. I don’t know where to start so I dive right in. First, Therese and Rich are wonderful people. Rich has the best sense of humor, the best sense of movies and loves his farm and especially the alpacas and dogs. They have the cutest and most lively dogs and I
… read more bonded with each one of ‘em deeply. Therese is a very caring mom and treated me like her own son. Also creates magic with her therapy bowls. Her homemade bread is to die for!! She also is in love with her Garden which leads me to the work I’ve done in the 3 weeks I was there. We fully started the vegetable and fruit garden. I weeded and tilled the ground, laid fabric to walk on, planted plants, put in a fence to keep away the bunny’s, watered the plants, saw them growing, laid straw to keep the weeds away, mulched certain areas, used the blower to clean the front porch and played, fed and took care of the dogs. Their house and property is massive so there is always something to do. Bringing food to the chickens and taking the eggs, feeding the alpacas and sheep’s, taking the 4x4’s for a drive over the land, go mushroom hunting, finding all sorts of animals and so on and on. The list is endless. I really enjoyed the time for myself that they gave me a lot of as well. Work and time Off was super balanced. I usually had the whole lower level for myself. Accept on days when they had friends or family over. Which leads me to my next point. Meeting Therese and Rich’s Family meant a lot to me. They have 4 wonderful children and especially with Dan I had a great time! Going out on Kayak trips, Going to a football game or just driving to St. Louis was super fun. Therese and Rich showed me many places in Missouri. From Caves, to trails, to Restaurants, stores and cafes. Malones was my fav.!! They have wonderful friends too who were always super welcoming and interested, especially Kerry and Sean (Wonderful people). We celebrated my birthday together, we had long nights watching movies, playing cards, having good drinks and good food (I also cooked them German dishes) and I am beyond thankful how they made me a part of their life. This is more than a Workaway stay, I became a part of the family so I decided to come back for another 3 months! I guess that shows how much this is a must stay for every Workawayer and I highly recommend Rich, Therese and all their animals to every workawayer.
