At first, I was a little worried about having to speak English all the time, but as soon as I arrived, Scott and Laura made me feel at ease. Sometimes I didn't understand everything, but they were happy to repeat themselves so that I could understand better. During the day, we had to clean the boxes, the fields, feed the horses, sometimes repair
… read more the fences, etc. The work they asked me to do left me time to visit the surrounding area. The region is also very beautiful to see, with cliffs that really allow you to discover a new country. I really enjoyed spending time with them. The animals are all adorable there, and I think I'm going to miss their dog Suzie a lot, because she was so loving! I was able to get back on a horse, which I had missed a lot, knowing that I had to give up horse riding because of my studies. I also got to ride on the beach, which was a first for me and something I will always remember!
I recommend this experience to all horse lovers, and thanks to Scott and Laura for this unforgettable month!

From the very beginning, I felt welcome and at ease. Staying at Scott’s and Laura’s place never really felt like work, but more like being part of the family and lending a hand. Laura and Scott are kind, funny, and always up for a good conversation or laugh. I genuinely enjoyed spending time with them.
The surroundings are beautiful, and both the
… read more house and the stables are very well looked after. The horses are not only lovely to work with but also incredibly sweet, each with their own unique personality. And Susie, their dog, is full of love and always eager to join in on little adventures.
Laura and Scott also went out of their way to show me around the area. Craughwell is a peaceful place, yet still close to so many wonderful spots. I was able to fully immerse myself in the Irish culture and even made two amazing new friends along the way.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Pauline stay with us, and we can’t recommend her highly enough. She was an incredible help with our horses, shes reliable, gentle, and confident in handling them. She also took wonderful care of our dog, treating her like one of her own.
Pauline cooked delicious meals for us and always kept the house and
… read more yard spotless. Her strong work ethic and attention to detail really stood out, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
On top of all that, Pauline has a bubbly and kind personality that made her a joy to be around. She brought such a positive energy into our home and fit in with our family perfectly. We feel very lucky to have had her help and would welcome her back any time!

With their now eight horses, daily tasks such as feeding the horses, keeping the stables clean, repairing fences, and even building a whole field shelter for the new horses kept me busy. I also had the chance to take jumping lessons with one of their horses and go riding on the beach. Not to be forgotten is the loving and slightly chaotic dog Susie, who brought a smile to everyone’s face every morning with her enthusiastic greetings.
I miss the time with Laura and Scott since leaving them and would love to come back!Comentarios

Truly the best Workaway experience one could ask for. I had the privilege of spending 3 months with two of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met, Laura and Scott. … read more Susie their adorable (and amusingly rambunctious!) dog and horses; Biscuit, Toni, Blue, Queenie, Lizzie, and Kingston, will forever hold a special place in my heart. Every day spent with these animals was a new adventure and the quiet moments I shared with them in the fields or stables gave me a deeper appreciation for the care and patience that goes into maintaining a farm and working with animals. Along with helping care for the animals I was truly appreciative of the opportunity to ride Biscuit out on hacks and in the ring she really is a special girl! Beyond the time spent with animals, the moments I shared with Laura and Scott were equally enriching. From preparing meals together, exploring Galway, visiting Dublin and other parts of Ireland, movie nights, and working out together I fully felt like I was included in everything and offered an unforgettable time experiencing true Irish life. I can’t express enough how much I appreciated their kindness, generosity, and the warm atmosphere they created in their home.
This experience was everything I hoped for and more and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a special and unforgettable Workaway opportunity. Thank you again Scott and Laura for everything❤️
We had the loveliest time in Ireland with Scott, Laura, Susie and the horses. It was honestly really hard to leave their gorgeous place in Ireland’s beautiful countryside, which was the closest to a home we’ve ever experienced outside our own four walls, after our 5 weeks of staying there. Whether it was “work” outside with the horses, cooking and eating together or going on daytrips to explore Ireland, we always had the best time and there was not even a second when we really felt like working. Additionally, we got the chance to go on hacks around the area with two of their lovely horses, Biscuit and Toni, and got to ride even more in another barn nearby. In general, we can say that our time at Scott and Laura’s flew by and definitely felt way too short. We miss them, Susie, the horses and the friendly people of Ireland a lot and for sure would want to go back any time!

We never thought in knowing Ireland this way, and thanks to Scott and Tom we had the best experience abroad. They borrowed us two bicycles and we got lost in the beautiful Co. … read more we shared coffees and good times. It is not the same to travel as a tourist getting to know the most iconic places, than to get into the real family and Irish culture. They made it real.
Scott and Tom are two wonderful, charismatic and friendly people. They made us feel like a member of their family, very comfortable. You can trust them and they will help you in everything. Not everyone is lucky enough to meet people as nice as they are, so all you have to do for them is to keep the house organized, general cleaning and of course cooking (they love it and they deserve it).
