Hello!

We're Andrew and Julia. We met while traveling in France in 2023 and we've been on a beautiful journey since then! We are both currently in our home countries and planning to be in the same location in September.

Andrew here
I am an artist at heart. I have a deep passion for creating. The primary medium I engage with is music. I have written and recorded two albums and I'm always working on more. I also love to create with my hands using wood. I have a lot of experience as a carpenter and I’m currently building a small house/cabin in Oklahoma as a place to stay when visiting my family. I also have an affection for growing food and living in harmony and at peace with nature as much as I am able. I prefer a slow pace of life that holds an awareness of the seasons. One more passion that is worthy of mention is my enchantment with Non-Violent Communication. It is a communication technique that focuses on speaking from the heart and maintaining consciousness of our universal needs. I find that I am more and more passionate about this as time goes on and the more training I do.
I grew up on a farm where I learned a lot of practical skills including welding, animal husbandry, carpentry, mechanics. A few years ago I started learning about Permaculture and natural building which sent me on an unexpected journey. I purchased a 100 year old dairy barn on Route 66 on a small holding in Oklahoma and I've spent the past two years restoring it to its former glory. I'd love to bring the skills and knowledge I've acquired to your project. I find that the most valuable thing in life is the people I choose to share it with.


It’s Julia
I’m a midwife, have a fascination for naturopathy and medicinal plants, love to work with my hands in the garden and being creative in the kitchen with baking, cooking and preserving food.
I grew up in the region of Berne, Switzerland in the countryside in a house our family renovated during my childhood. I loved helping and learned a lot of useful skills. Also, I worked as an electrician for several years during highschool holidays.
Today my heart belongs to midwifery and women’s/families health. Since 2021 I’m a midwife and worked for several years in a small hospital in the mountains of Switzerland before I traveled Europe and Canada last year. After traveling through America with Andrew in our selfbuilt camping trailer I’m currently I’m in Switzerland, working with an independent midwife, providing pregnancy and postpartum care and attending homebirths. I would love to start working independently the next few years and provide a family centered, empowered, safe and natural pregnancy care, childbirth, and postpartum care for becoming families.
At the moment I’m living close to nature in a wonderful little yurt and love to help in my neighbours permaculture garden in my freetime. I’m always curious to learn new things and meeting new people. It’s important to me to live in harmony with nature and all the living spirits around me.

Andrew:

I have a lot of experience with farm related tasks and construction techniques, including wood framed structures and some knowledge of/experience with natural building techniques.

I know carpentry skills are in high demand and I’m happy to help. I’ve done many remodel jobs and custom handyman work including plumbing, carpentry, and finish work. I’ll include some photos.

I owned a real estate brokerage for 3 years. And during that time I had people working underneath me. I have a lot of experience facilitating negotiations and communication between people.

I’ve owned several older vehicles that I worked on myself. I’m comfortable with a wrench in my hand.

I know some Spanish and some French. I'm not fluent in either. I find the challenge of speaking another language very enjoyable.
