Description
This is an agritourism destination in the south of Albania near Corfu and the land border of Greece. We just finished our busy season with tourists and now with the weather cooling off it's time to plant trees, winter garden, tackle some building projects for the animals and other landscaping. Farm work is physical and dirty. Yes, we agree it is silly we have to say that, but we do. lol. We also need help in the IT world so if you are good with computers, websites and social media there is fun to be had for you too!
We ask our volunteers to stay for a minimum of three weeks to get a feeling of a good team and the pride of seeing projects finished, for you to leave with a good feeling of accomplishment. Leaving early is breaking your commitment and not only impacts us but is unfair to the other volunteers we turned down to give you your place at the farm.
Our land is a piece of magic and you will love to play around with our rescue animals on the farm. We are wrapped up in nature here but still very close to cultural and tourist outings for you to explore on your time off.
We provide a shared room and a staff kitchen with basic pantry items included for self-cooking. The pantry is filled once a week as a vegetarian kitchen. Depending on your appetite and tastes you may want to supplement a bit. While meat is not purchased you are welcome to use it in the kitchen. We often cook for our workaway volunteers once a week, otherwise this is something you will do with other volunteers on your own time.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We spent a combined 40 years working in Los Angeles Entertainment Industry so we can share many stories with you. We are artists and artists always learn from each other. I also ran a successful NGO in Animal Welfare in the states. We speak pretty good English and are currently learning Shqip (that's Albanian in Albanian) and can study together out in the field. As new ex-pats we have a unique view on changing and committing to a new lifestyle. Side trips can be arranged to visit unique local Albanian villages hidden away from the touritsy areas and engage directly with the traditional Albanian culture. We hope to inspire you in one way or another to follow your dreams.

I stayed a total of 2 weeks at the farm, in November/December. The work was straightforward and was not difficult (if you don't mind working hard); be ready to get dirty depending on the tasks they ask you to do! I helped with tasks around… read more

Kyle and Shawn have been very welcoming and warm to us, and this is something we did really appreciate! They were very occupied with administrative issues, but they were always available when we had questions and when we needed… read more
Shawn and Kyle picked us up at the bus stop in finiq, and we went straight to buy chickens at an albanian house/farm, after the greetings, fresh peach and raki of course. So for cultural exchange, we did a front flip into albanian culture lol.
As for the experience at the farm I really… read more

Helping to set the first steps in the land was rewarding and I enjoyed each day spent with Shawn and Kyle. The surrounding nature and views are truly beautiful, snowed mountains, ancient ruins, sheeps and goats. It provides a deep connection with the earth.
