    Description

We are a small community and we grow over 40 different kinds of fruits and veggies as well as herbs for our CSA (Community supported agriculture). Everything is organic. We have some Greenhouses with tomatoes and we know a lot about vegetable cultivation. Our life here is basic but we like the idea to have a little impact as possible. There is an apple garden where everyone stays in the summer with an outdoor kitchen and a fireplace. There are a great many building projects going on this summer. So except gardening, we are looking for people who would like to help us with that.
Currently no one is living in the garden. The three gardeners are here for most of the week and some weekend days as well. From our community members in Freising and Munich people are coming around mostly on weekends to work in the fields or garden. Once a month we organize a bigger helpers day, usually the last weekend of each month. That's usually a good time to get to know us.

Our place ist 60 km in the north of Munich. Please keep in mind, that we live in the garden and there is just cold water and no heating system. So come in the summer, if you get cold easily.
In Germany there is a phrase: "Nur die harten kommen in den Garten" which means: Only the tough ones come into the garden ;)

One question that is important for us: Are you capable of self-organization? Can you spend a good time with us without daily supervision? Our gardeners are well involved in their daily tasks and we cannot ensure supervision by our club members. Write us if this is okay for you! We will of course welcome you in the beginning and show you around, but later in your stay with us, personal responsibility is important. This may mean that you plan your own days, and inform the gardeners accordingly, so that they can plan for the week with your help. However, you can also take on tasks in the apple orchard on your own responsibility, there is plenty of room for this. If you have any questions about this paragraph, just write us :)

Some more info in brief: Currently there are no washing facilities for clothes, except by hand with soap in the sink. Electricity exists only for charging (cell phone) batteries. Dogs are generally allowed in the apple orchard, but it is important to know that dogs are often only allowed in public transport with a muzzle. (Fighting dog breeds are sometimes excluded from public transport!).

    Help

You can work in a varity of tasks like gardening, repairing stuff and raising new infrastructures.
We grow vegetables and herbs for 70 people. You can help us with weeding, planting, harvesting, digging, irrigation and everything else regarding organic vegetable growing. As for woodworking, we are not that skilled in that ourselves. So if you are very good in it, we follow and you can have your own little project.

Depending on the availability, the accommodation will be a caravan, a tipi, a small cabin or your own tent if you want to bring one with you. It's quite basic and you will be living outside almost all the time.
It's good if you bring your own sleeping bag and mat, but it's not super neccessary.
    There is no washing mashine.

    Hygiene
There is cold running water in the Summer
We use a simple compost toilet.

    Fun and Games, activities
We welcome all musical instruments. We have bicycles so you can do small trips around in your free time. There are forests nearby and we find mushrooms sometimes.
