the Chateau is a unique family-owned castle, that is currently functioning as a B&B and table d'hôte.
It has been in the same family for nearly 500 years and has an incredible history that we are happy to share with our guests and volunteers
With the help of family, friends and workawayers we created an association, a non-profit association and managed to restore part of it and to turn it into a friendly and elegant space for people from all around the world who enjoy art, travel, culture and history.
The purpose to restore, maintain and promote the natural, man-made and cultural heritage of Normandy, and more specifically the unique of this place.
It is a great project and a unique human adventure!
During low season (October to April) we are looking for volunteers to help us with the restoration of the property and during high season (April to October) we are usually fully booked and need a hand in the day-to-day activities and events in the Chateau.
We are looking for people who are easy going, open and reliable, someone who appreciates art, history and culture and would treat our property with respect.

You will discover a historic site in Normandy and a beautiful region of France.
You will also meet travelers from all around the world staying here.
But most of all you will see and participate to the rebirth of an old French Castle!
On spot we have yoga mats and bicycles, which the volunteers can use, also a lot of books in different languages and a huge park for walks and jogging.
We are doing our best to maintain the property - improve the rooms, organizing and reorganising storage and service rooms, cleaning, help with the general maintenance and everyday tasks in the chateau. In summer some work in garden is needed, too.
French, English, Italian, Spanish
We have several small bedrooms with a bathroom on top of the castle (3rd floor).
We can accommodate a couple or 2 single volunteers in private rooms with a shared bathroom.
We will provide food and accommodation. Volunteers are responsible for their own shopping and cooking (with a weekly budget) and we will have lunches/dinners altogether a couple of times per week when the workload of the host couple allows.
Within three hours drive from Paris lies a peaceful place in the heart of a natural regional park.
The family who owns the place was ones brothers in Arms with William the Conqueror in the 11th Century. The castle was already their home. What was once a 9th century Viking fortress, is now a 12th century castle, a 16th century Mansion and a 17th century Manor, located in the heart of the Norman countryside, close to the famous Sainte-Mère-Eglise and the D-Day beaches, an excellent base from which to explore the attractions of the region.
There are lots of beautiful animals in the surroundings of the property - cows, horses, deers and wild animals it is the perfect place for nature lovers.
We have several bicycles and a scooter that you can use to visit the region.
The nearest town is Sainte-Mère-Eglise, Mont-Saint-Michel is 1h30 from the property.
