My partner and I are long time travelers who have been hosting international travelers in downtown Savannah for years and love being a part of a global community. We renovate classic Victorian mansions and turn them into quirky hostels with a bent towards budget travelers. We are looking for someone to come and help us with maintaining these beautiful homes as well as host guests from all over the world who are visiting downtown Savannah, one of the most beautiful, historic, and international cities in the United States. Our house is a sprawling and quirky old Victorian from 1898 that is constantly hopping with the activity of our guests and we would love to add more good energy to the mix. :)
In the past, if we have found somebody who is a real asset, we have offered paid compensation.
We will happily pick you up from the Airport, bus station or train station and if you drive into town we will provide parking! We start people on a trial basis and always go from there. Things generally work out well but if things are not working out mutually, we generally try our best to help folks move on their next stop.
We have met amazing people from around the world and truly treasure the workaway experience!

Host and interact with guests from all over the world while living in a beautiful Victorian mansion in historic Savannah, Georgia! Stay connected with the world at large while staying in a laid back town and working on your own art projects or work as well as ours. Myself and my partner are both artists and avid motorcycle travelers who love to be surrounded by people with similar interests but different backgrounds. The number of connections that our friends have made while staying here are many and varied as we've created a huge network of artists and writers across the United States and beyond. We would love to add more people to that network!
We love to host workawayers for just about any kind of help they can contribute. Mostly at the moment we need help renovating and decorating a classic 1890s Savannah Victorian in preparation to use it as a hostel in historic downtown Savannah but we also always need help with painting, wood work, gardening, running errands, just about anything else you can imagine! We are also currently renovating a 1960s Tag A Long camper and a tri-maran sail boat.
We're hosts who welcome guests from all over the world so being multi-lingual is a huge benefit too. Guest contact will depend on the travelers but can be very casual or intimate. International travelers especially are very eager to see what a sleepy southern US town has to offer and we frequently take them on boat tours as well as nature hikes. We're also looking to have someone who is personable and friendly to help show guests around or just help out with some work. Carpenters and artists preferred as our guests tend to be of the same sort!
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Free lodging with a private room with a stocked refrigerator and wonderful food preparation area. Live surrounded by locals and artists within the Savannah College of Art & Design campus and near the Starland Arts District.
This gig is very casual and flexible as far as hours and we are very laid back hosts. Mostly we do this so we can go travel ourselves! Savannah is a beautiful and lively place with everything within easy walking or bicycling distance.
