Description
Welcome to our chool in Tirinyi, a village in Kibuku district eastern Uganda.
I am Stephen, a Ugandan educationist who founded the school in 2006 after witnessing a lack of educational facilities in the region to meet the demands of education in the community for the rising numbers of children. I wanted to help especially the most vulnerable children of the community, so we offer special support programs for orphans. It is important for me to prepare the children for their future. Hence, I place great value on the individual development of the children's talents and their autonomy to give them the best basis.
When you decide to visit us, you will be close the school life and my family, who lives close to the school. I have eight children. Four of them are still living in Tirinyi with my wife, me and 3 close relatives. You can experience our family live, the culture in Uganda and the everyday school life.
In this environment we can offer you to participate and join our school with your own talents and interests.
You can decide yourself, in which field you want to help. Help is needed in different activities, for example in teaching, fundraising or community work.
You can life in the middle of the school campus and interact with the children. Because we are a boarding school, the kids will be happy to play with you after the lessons. The village center of Tirinyi is close to the school. Here you can experience the local culture and community life.
We would be really happy to welcome you in our organization and school and host you for a while!Types of help and learning opportunities

You will also experience authentically the life in Uganda, including the rural villages, schools, families or the public transport.
You can also do weekend trips in the region to the Nile in Jinja, the Sipi falls, Wanale ridge or Mt. Elgon.
If you like sports, we have a lot of them in our school, like soccer, basketball, volleyball or table tennis.
If you want, you can also join church. We have praise and worship moments.Projects involving children

Help
When you visit us, you can decide on your interest, where you want to participate. We need help in the following areas:
- You can support the teachers in school and teach the children. You can bring your own ideas of how to create a lesson. Our teachers are happy to share knowledge and ideas with you.
- We have many orphans and children with challenges in our school. You can help us in the counselling and support them by just spending time with them.
- You can help us with awareness campaigns of women's and mother's/children's health, welfare and rights. If you have a special talent, you can participate on the skill training especially for women, to give them the chance to self-sustainability by creating income-generating activities.
- In the last years, we suffer from increasing numbers of AIDS/HIV and insufficient health care system. AIDS/HIV treatment is free in Uganda. Still, many people need to be informed about the disease and supported in using the available health care resources. You can participate in the guidance and counselling sessions or help regarding the health care.
- If you are skilled in craftsmanship, you can help us with the construction of our new school building. We can also teach you how to make the local bricks, our buildings are made of.
- We are always in need of funding. Currently, we need to build an additional school building to address the rising numbers of children in our school. You can help us in proposal writing to inquire the necessary resources.Languages

I spent two weeks at a community school in Uganda, teaching about three hours a day for grades 4-7. Volunteers were able to stay near the dormitories where the students lived, so I was very close to the students and teachers, which made my days very enjoyable.
