    Description

The Campsite is a small, friendly, family-run campsite on the tiny island of Bryher in the Isles of Scilly, about 30 miles off the coast of Cornwall in southwest England.

With stunning ocean views, spacious fields and a friendly relaxed atmosphere, the Campsite is the perfect base for exploring the Isles of Scilly, and we offer both regular camping and fully-equipped Bell Tent rentals.

We're a true family business, run by Jo and Tom with our new baby, Oliver, and assisted by both our extended families. We offer the chance for you to come and experience life on our little island, meeting people from all walks of life and exploring a truly unique (and little-known) part of the UK.

Bryher is a tiny island with a small but welcoming community of around 85 people, supplemented by a couple of dozen seasonal staff members each summer. A truly unique island, Bryher is rugged and beautiful and a great place to experience a true sense of the Isles of Scilly, and to explore the archipelago.

Helping around the campsite is a great experience, as you will meet guests from across the world, and a variety of different backgrounds.

We are looking for a friendly, helpful and welcoming person to act as our campsite helper for the season, starting in May through until September (Please note: we would need someone who can stay the whole season)

Your key tasks will involve meeting guests on arrival on the island, transferring their camping luggage from the boat to the campsite by tractor, and generally helping out around the site. This will include elements of gardening and general maintenance.

You will need to be fit and able, as the job is a very manual one, involving lifting a lot of heavy camping luggage. You will require a full driving license. Tractor driving experience is preferred but not essential.

Above all, you will need to be friendly, helpful, welcoming and a great people person, as you will be people's first and last impression of our campsite!

The job itself is very much part time, with daily hours varying from 2-3 hours per day outside main season to perhaps 5 - 6 hours per day in the peak period. Therefore, you will have plenty of time to explore the beautiful Isles of Scilly - an archipelago of five inhabited islands and hundreds of uninhabited islets, 30 miles off the coast of Cornwall. We have kayaks you're welcome to use to go off and explore the islands.

As a campsite helper you will stay on the campsite in a tent as we find our helpers really enjoy the social experience of this. Living on the campsite for the summer, you will become a part of people's holiday and very much a central part of our little family business.

We have an excellent shower block and will provide shower tokens to you free of charge. We can also supply cooking equipment and gass free of charge, and may be able to help provide a tent if you do not have one of your own. As we have a new baby we are unable to provide meals, but this is a paid position and we have an excellent island shop.

If you want to make extra money, there is usually plenty of casual work available around the island, from gardening to bar work, although we do ask that the campsite duties take priority as we will need you to meet specific boats each day.
