I really enjoyed Ana's compagny and I am grateful for her hospitality and kindness. The house is very peaceful with an amazing view of the mountains very close to many attractions San Diego has to offer. I felt at home there working at my own pace on a variery of handy man and gardening projects. Thank you Ana for welcoming me !
Phillip was a joy to host. He was polite, dependable and hard working. He did a great job on all the projects he helped me with. He is welcome back any time and I can't recommend him enough.

I spent about ten days in San Diego and being with Ana was just amazing. I felt like at home, I was able to have my own autonomy while helping her set up the pathway in the backyard. Ana was so kind and nice, she got me lots of healthy meals and when it was possible she gave me rides into town!

Bonnie was truly great. She did an amazing job in my bathroom. She worked really hard and was detailed oriented and took the initiative to fix things she found while working on the tile. You will not regret having Bonnie as a guest. I miss her already.

Ronald is an awesome worker. He is also very polite and interesting person. He wirked very hard on my yard and did other small maintenance projects. You will be lucky to have him help you for any job. He is always willing to learn and to help. I fully recommend him.

We really enjoyed our stay with Ana in Spring Valley! Her home is lovely and comfortable; the blue room for us was perfect and we loved the separate entrance out to the patio with views over the hills. We felt welcomed and were able to enjoy her home using the gym, kitchen, garden & Netflix. We didn't find it too remote. You can take the mile walk
… read more down the hill in to Spring Valley, or even a little further in to Lemon Grove for more restaurants and shops. Buses are within half an hour walk and can take you to a trolley station to head in to San Diego. We quite enjoyed the walking however, so if you also enjoy a walk this will suit you fine. We found that it was close enough to the city or town when needed, but the peace and views at the house were what we wanted.
We ate good, all organic and natural foods. The oranges from the tree in the back yard are amazing, we squeezed a load for a pitcher of juice one afternoon! Ana made sure we were eating what we liked and took us to the store a couple of times during our stay. Ana was kind enough to invite us out for St Patrick's Day in downtown with her and her partner too.
The tasks weren't over-demanding. We spent most of the time painting, measuring, cutting and then installing crown molding in the hallway. Initially learning the angles & cuts was difficult as a novice but Ana allowed us that time. We also did some housekeeping, organised/cleaned the fridge, swept floors daily, bleached the sinks, cleaned out the dryer lint tray & the inside of the washing machine. Deri, as a qualified plumber, fixed the kitchen faucet & soap dispenser, and also worked towards a solution for the water treatment system.
Ana has travelled and lived everywhere and her home is full of beautiful art and ornaments that show just that. We loved her stories, her generosity and her place and would recommend to all. Thank you for hosting us Ana.You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I spent 10 days at Ana's house, helping her cleaning her front yard and with some gardening. She made sure I didn't work too much and I felt like home. She also provided me with great healthy food and even cooked a few delicious healthy meals when she was at home.

Her house is just a 20 minutes drive to downtown and 30 minutes to the main beaches (Ocean Beach and Pacific Beach). The house has amazing views from the city and the mountains and I spent a lot of time out in her backyard even during my meals to contemplate that amazing view.
