This is a 75 acres off grid project, inspired by permaculture design, located in Portugal in South West Alentejo, between the beautiful natural park of Costa Vincentine and the Monchique Mountains.
We are at the early stages of building and revitalizing the land through soil, water and plant management.
We are aiming for food self sufficiency with natural growing practices based on vegan/vegetarian principles and we are putting together a viable economical structure.

If you want to experience off grid living,
if you enjoy "glamping" in quiet country side,
if a plant based diet suits you,
if you want to learn more about natural building,
if you like the blue Portuguese sky...
This might be your workaway destination!
All help is welcome, carpentry skills are a plus. No smokers, no drugs.
The helpers will work with us on harvesting, improving and maintaining the vegetable garden, clearing tracks, planting aquatics in natural ponds/dams, starting a forest garden, earthworks (swales, terraces...), participating in natural building projects (cob oven, plastering, completing vermicompost toilet, restoring taipa ruin, some carpentry...)

In exchange for your appreciated help, we offer food and accommodation.
You will sleep in a yurt (which has a green reciprocal roof above it that keeps it cool during the summer months) or, depending of the number of guests, in a comfy bell tent (5m diameter cotton tent with mosquito screening all around).
Some meals (vegetarian) will be prepared, but a well stocked kitchen is accessible for you to prepare your own breakfast and other "non shared" meals.
There is a satellite dish that makes Internet freely available in certain area of the land.
The closest village is Luzianes-Gare and is only a few km away. A bike is at your disposition. Once a week we are driving down to town (Odemira) and/or to one of the beautiful beaches of the Alentjo coast. You are most welcome to join us.
