    Help

What we need is a hand around the house and sometimes with the kids

Althought Richard (the father) is french and he speaks fluently french, because he was born in Portugal he does not speak french at home. So we prefer if you dont speak any portuguese but only french or english with the kids. If your main language is Portuguese of course we are ok with speaking Portuguese with them…

i speak medium french, good english and medium spanish.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We ask for +/- 20 hours per week of help
Weekends are yours to enjoy and travel!

    - As this evolves children, specially small girls we do have a preference for female workawayers ; also we would be more comfortable with a girl since bathing our girls is something we might need help with.

    - Our experience also tells us that less than 24 years old are not the best fit for this position as we do need a person with some experience not only with kids but in time management and self initiative as we dont want to be constantly asking for obvious/not so obvious things that can be done without our constant request (ex: tidying up kids belongings (toys, clothes, make a fun activity with kids etc...).
We will not turn anyone down just for the age but we will give preference for over 24/ year old or already work experienced workawayers as mind set is diferent and we believe its the best fit for everyone (host and guest)

We would like a workawayer who loves to play with children and who comes here to know our kids and become their friend.
We ask you not just to be with the children, but to ACTIVELY INTERACT WITH THEM
We would love for you to be our trust person, helping with whatever is needed and being a support to our family.

We want a workawayer who is HONEST, PATIENT with kids and also RESPONSIBLE and RELIABLE, and who is good at time management....FLEXIBILITY is also extremely important as our lives became more unpredictable with and with kids at home we are never sure about what we may need.

We have a person that comes make deeper clean on the house 2 times a weeks and give a hand with the clothes but we do expect help with daily cleaning like vacuum the house (once a week), wash dishes/load and unload the dishwasher, leave the kitchen tidy and clean if it’s not (we will also give a hand) kids toys organized and cooperate with us for day to day activities

We love to cook and eat, so when we are home we can prepare meals for everyone (kids eat around 19h30), we usually dinner only later around21h. You will eat with the kids if you want

Sometimes we have guests (friends or family coming over for dinner and on those days some more help with the kids while we prepare dinner might be needed;)
In case we are not around we might need you to reheat food for the kids that we'll leave prepared and cook for you...basically we expect you to know the basics to survive independently if needed.

    - Help with the house and dog- max 1.5 hours per day

Pick the older kids for lunch and drop them off to school after- Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
    - 11h50- 13h45 - food will be left done. reheat our food or very basic cooking is the only thing we will need

Pick the older kids from school at 16h45- to be seen as needed acordin 24/25 school schedules - (2 times per week)

babysiting one or other night might be asked in case you are free

As we are dealing with children - staying more than 2 months stay is valued to avoid too many changes as our children will bound and miss you and also as 1st month is only for adaptation as the kids tend to have adaptation time to the new person...

1 month is acceptable and donable but not less
