My next destination:
Ireland - from Sep 2024 until Sep 2025 View allDescription
Update😊 :After completing part of the Camino Santiago🙏 and spending four months in Portugal I have returned to the Emerald Isle.
I am open to workaway opportunities in Ireland and abroad as my experience travelling was incredible.
Trying to engage and speak the languages with people in Spain and Portugal gave me an insight into the similarities and differences of cultures
I consistently sign up for training courses that would grow my skill set, including a certified first aid course. I undertook a supervisory management course for three months in Jan 2024 and it has opened my eyes to the world of business and managing a team and myself.
My background is in hospitality. Throughout my time working in bars, a hotel and a restaurant I developed an excellent customer service skill set. I have great ability to work in a fast paced environment. The importance of customer service is a driven factor in the hospitality industry . This has given me the confidence to provide exemplary service and creating a positive experience for each customer.
I do part time work in a local B&B. Some of my duties include cleaning, hoovering, changing beds all the while keeping high cleanliness standards. I have great attention to detail and can manage my time wisely.
I was made redundant in my position in May 2024 due to a funding crisis. A therapy support officer was my role in an organization that works with children who have been abused.
I have found my heart and mind grow and expand in ways I wasn't expecting. This role has helped me learn how to handle and resolve all sorts of enquiries and issues, but the greatest learning within this role has been through the experience of feeling humbled and in awe of these children, who despite really difficult life experiences they have found a way through. They inspire me to not be afraid to follow my own heart and dreams.
In my free time I love to hike and cycle. In Ireland we have numerous hiking trails with spectacular scenery. One that's coming to mind is the Sliabh Liag/Slieve League from Teelin on the Pilgrims Path in Donegal located in the west of Ireland. My ambition is to complete the Camino Santiago and I plan to start it in May 2024 leading me on route to Spain. I will then continue to Portugal from May 19th.Learning about cultures and integrating into different countries helps me gain an understanding and spikes my curiosity. The idea of meeting like minded people on a journey motivates and excites me.Interests

Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Spanish: Beginner
Italian: BeginnerMore details about my language interests
I am fluent in English as I am living in Ireland and this is the widely spoken language. When in school I studied Irish and still remember sentences however as I don't speak it regularly I have forgotten a lot. I am studying Italian and Spanish as I believe language is a huge aspect in connecting with others and understanding cultures. I find the sentence structures vocabulary and grammar a little difficult to grasp and love the idea of expanding my foreign tongue by visiting countries. By understanding and listening it can break down barriers between individuals and be the first interaction and the development of new friendships. I love the English language and would love to teach it to both adults and children.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn
I'm interested in:

More details about your skills
With my background in hospitality and an eagerness in customer service my communication skills are brilliant. I have met many personality types and learned how to communicate effectively to get the best results for the outcome required. I can respond to requests quickly, give instructions accurately and relay information reliably. I am computer literate in Microsoft suite. I maintain a orderly workspace and this enables me to meet deadlines input statistics and pay attention to the details. The importance of managing my time is important as it helps me conserve my energy and stay calm in a fast-paced environment. With a busy schedule in my current role I am successful in greeting clients, scheduling and updating diary appointments for the therapists and conducting administrative duties within the organization. I am in charge of neutralizing the therapy rooms after children have visited our therapy play Centre. This includes deep cleaning on occasion and a general clean up per therapy session. Using these skills both personally and professionally I believe I would be a good fit in roles like cultural exchange or help with a business or business activity and will use varies abilities to suit the requirements. If in doubt I believe it is important to ask questions, discover and learn from other people. I travelled to countries in the EU in 2023 and built a strong network and believe that having this experience will benefit in different roles. By joining the workaway project I am hoping to develop my skills and adapt to different roles.

What else ...
I love jigsaw puzzles. I am completing the tower of London which is 1000 pieces. It took a lot of strategic thinking and perseverance. I love to identify new recipes and try them out at home. I like to prepare dinner and have tried my hand a baking but the results are usually better with the dinner recipes. For example I do a great spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne, chilli con carne and chicken fajita. I am happy to share these recipes and would love to learn new recipes.
