Hi guys,
We are Remon and Freya. We run an eco lodge 40 mins east of Kandy with a strong focus on community and nature.
Are you interested in helping our local team develop a new menu? We are looking for a chef to develop a new menu can use all the locally grown fruits, spices and ingredients to develop a unique and healthy experience for our guests.
Together with our partner business, Eko Land Produce, we are able to provide fresh spices such as turmeric, chilli powder, curry powder, cinnamon, etc. We also produce our eggs, peanut butter and mushrooms. Our area is home to a variety of fruits such as jackfruit, mango, bananas, pineapple, watermelon, avocado and plants such as moringa, mint leaves, gotukola, spinach which we grow on our organic vegetable farm. The amount of ingredients at our disposable is truly a dream for any vegetarian and we are looking for a chef to work with our local team to bring this our guests.
What we are looking for
- A chef that specializes in vegetarian meals using ingredients mentioned above. Some examples include a fried mushroom burger with wedges, jackfruit wrap, smoothie bowl, pumpkin & sweet potato soup, aubergine pizza, chickpea sundal, smoothie drinks,
- A team player that loves to train a local team
- Shares our passion for community and nature
- Available for 1-2 months

You will learn about the local culture, food systems, and everything that grows in an Kandyan Forest Garden. You will be working with a team of locals, creating new menu options and using organically grown fruits, vegetables, spices and other ingredients.

You will receive 3 local meals
What else ...
You will be working for 4 hours per day, 5 times a week. Our days start quite early and if you are planting trees then you will start at 7am. The other tasks are more flexible but you will be doing min. 4 hours per day which will be discussed depending on the work.
It will be a learning experience that will contribute towards a great cause.
Nearby attractions include Kandy (40 mins), Dambulla (2 hours), Colombo (3.30 hours)
