Description
Hi! My name is Agostino (34), I live in a small seaside village called Lido dei Pini, about 1h south from Rome. Surrounded by greenery, it is known for its large pine forest that runs along a long stretch of free beach. Here, I manage a half a hectare rural property together with my father. with a swimming pool, a donkey (Caterina) and a bamboo building workshop for the non-profit I co-founded. Through participatory natural building we promote environmental education, social inclusion, space regeneration and artistic expression.
I love travelling.
After a period in London, working hard and learning English, I decided to explore the world and I went to California. Since then, for 8 years I lived, volunteered and worked between Italy, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, UK, and Switzerland. Life brought me back to my hometown, from where I'm coordinating non-profit and working on the property.Types of help and learning opportunities

I travelled for 8 years and speak fluent English and Spanish, often I have friends visiting me from far abroad and I love it. I often go to concerts, exhibitions, cultural activities or social initiatives in Rome and around my town. I tend to be a social person, like to share and eat together with friends and family.
I'm also happy to share my experience with bamboo and social projects.
Finally, workawayers will spend time with my father, an authentic, generous Italian man from the South who used to own a restaurant in town and people usually fell in love with his food. He knows how to receive visitors and loves to do it, welcoming everyone in the warmest and most respectful way. He is probabily the most authentic italian experience you can have.Registered charity
This host is a registered charity in their country and is looking for volunteers to help with their project(s).
Help
Workawayers will mostly help taking care of the garden (planting, pruning, clearing brambles, outside work will be varied) and small maintenance or decoration projects (painting, cleaning, repairing, building etc).
Volunteers with building skills skip the line!
Those interested can help with our bamboo construction projects, learning how to design and build a bamboo zome or other structures.
Those who want to offer their social media or video/photo skills are welcome too.Languages

We provide lunch and dinner while volunteers are responsible for their breakfast. Meals are generally shared together in my father's house or in the other property. What else ...
Just 9 km towards Anzio, you can visit the Tor Caldara park, famous for its beneficial muds produced by the sulfur caves located at the end of the park, near the beach.
About 11 km away is Anzio, with its port from which ferries and hydrofoils depart for the islands of Ponza and Ventotene.
Nettuno, about 15 km away, features a charming medieval village filled with nightlife options.
10 km from Lido dei Pini, you can visit the Ardea fortress and the archaeological site of Castrum Inui.
Rome is about 1h from Lido dei Pini with public transportation. COTRAL BUS provides direct buses to and from Roma Laurentina (Metro station B Line). The bus stop is about 5 min walking from the house.
We like to spend time with our visitors but also let them their space. Getting the work done is important but we also want you to experience and enjoy local life and culture and have a good time.A little more information
