We enjoyed hosting Franzi and Erik. They worked hard and enjoyed being part of our family and exploring Raglan.
We had an amazing time staying with Jill and Paul! They are such kind and welcoming people, always up for a great chat. I especially loved our conversations about art and culture, and we learned so much about both New Zealand and South Africa from them. Their dog, Douggie, is the absolute cutest—so cuddly and full of love!
Jill and Paul were

During our stay, Erik helped get rid of spiders with poison, pressure-washed the house, and did some weeding and dirt spreading. I focused on cleaning the windows, skirting, and pantry shelves, as well as vacuuming and removing spider webs outside. The work was straightforward, and we always felt appreciated for our efforts.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’d come back in a heartbeat! We highly recommend staying with Jill and Paul to anyone looking for a great Workaway experience in Raglan.
We really enjoyed having Fernando stay with us. He was very hard working and willing. He also shared lots of stories about his travels, art and life. He appreciated our hospitality and friendship and liked Dougie our exuberant puppy. Thanks Fernando and enjoy your travels in Vanuatu.
I highly recommend staying with Jil and Paul! These two wonderful people. They were very attentive to me at all times, treating me like a son. Their home is incredible, and I thoroughly enjoyed helping them with their new start there. Vom Host für Workawayer (Céline & Anthony )
We really enjoyed having Anthony and Celine. They fit into our home well and worked really hard. Celine was with us for a week, but Anthony stayed for a month. He was polite and willing to help in any way we needed. We highly recommend them.

My boyfriend Anthony and I spend an amazing time with Jill and Paul !
We were warmly welcomed by Paul and Gemgem (the queen of the house). We had a wonderful week eating Paul's great food and listening to his historical anecdotes.
We mainly cleaned around the house and painted the interior.
I left for a 3-week vacation of my own, but Anthony

Anthony therefore had the opportunity (and the chance) to meet Jill. He really enjoyed the time spent with them, the various discussions and really felt like a fully-fledged member of the family. Paul and Jill were also there for him despite his dislocated shoulder and his inability to work for some time.
On my return from vacation, we had the chance to go to the batch with Paul and Gemgem to do some painting, go for walks and enjoy (again and again) the delicious homemade bread!
Paul and Jill are now part of our New Zealand trip.
Thank you for your kindness, welcome and hospitality during these 4 weeks!
We give Gemgem a big hug. ❤️

We stayed at Jill and Pauls place for almost a month and we really enjoyed our time there. They are both extremely kind and open minded and we really had the feeling that they cared for us and wanted to make us feel welcomed. We even got two separate rooms and could borrow their bikes whenever we wanted. Furthermore we had a lot of fun with the

On top of that Jill did help us a lot to find some extra paid work which was also easy to coordinate with our work at their place, since they have a completely flexible working schedule. Our tasks at their house included tidying, cleaning, sanding and painting and we could always ask Paul for help if needed.
Moreover, we got the most delicious food there and especially Paul shared a lot of NZ-facts, great stories and travel advice with us. And even the area in which their home is located in couldn´t be better. Glendowie is a rather quiet but extremely nice area. There is a little park quite close to Jill and Paul´s house and St. Heliers Bay isn´t far either. Furthermore it is also possible to visit Auckland using public transport.
Summing up, we want to thank Jill and Paul again for the wonderful stay and would highly recommend their place.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Jill and Paul are some of the nicest people we have met...ever! They are so inviting and easy to talk to. They make you feel very comfortable and invite you right into the family and other events with open arms! We were lucky enough to join in a kiwi road BBQ which was excellent (both company and food). The work was meaningful and Paul was generally around for guidance if needed. It was such a pleasure to come help this family out and getting to know them. Amazing people and any workawayer would definitely be lucky to get a stay here. They have 3 awesome pets Dusty, Morrison and Cookie whom you will also come to love.
Thanks for the great stay Jill and Paul, all the best!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

My stay with Jill and Paul is actually described best by a quote from Paul on my first evening. I thanked them for the warm welcome and told him that I already felt at home. His reply was, as if this was a matter of course: “Well, you’re at home.”
And this feeling got more intense all over my stay, although I was only with them for one week. If
… read more you have the luck to stay at Jill’s and Paul’s, you have the opportunity to stay with two really nice and impressive persons, whom you can also learn a lot from. Together with another WorkAway guest, my task was mainly to help renovating the laundry. It basically felt like staying with my real family at home: helping them with some stuff (there will always be something to do, as the two of them have a quite big house), eating amazing food together, and sleeping in their children’s old rooms (they are already old enough to have moved out). We learned all the skills needed for the “job” from Paul, who liked to teach us how to do something patiently even if it was the third or fourth time, and who most of the time worked together with us.
The house is located in Glendowie, a suburb of Auckland, maybe half an hour with the bus to the city centre (the other way round, it can get more complicated). In the house, there are also staying two animals: the silent cat Cookie and the boxer Dusty, who is the calmest and laziest but also best trained dog I’ve ever seen. Eating is awesome, if you stay at this beautiful family: only fresh ingredients are used and every evening one of your “host parents” cooks a lovely dish (of course, they are happy, if you join them or cook some meal of your choice one day). In the evenings, they often go out but if they don’t, you can have highly interesting conversations while enjoying a good glass of wine or a beer together.
I had an amazing time as Paul’s and Jill’s “host son” and will be very happy whenever the opportunity arises to use their warm offer to visit them again. Thank you for the great time with you and for always making me feel so welcome!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
