Come stay on four acres near Cowichan Lake, BC Canada.

We are a homestead, not a business. Any skills or help are welcome. We love to share our park like setting of wild meadows, a salmon stream, rain forest trail, large cedar and fir trees. It is a ten minute walk along the creek trail to town. Duncan is a 20 minute drive and its about a one hour drive to Victoria, Nanaimo or Port Renfrew. Our eco project is to make the property safe for wild animals like elk and deer to roam. And to be a stream-keeper for the Salmon who live in Oliver Creek. To make organic gardens and orchard. And restore the wild plants on the property from decades of grazing cattle.

There are biking and hiking trails abound, and it is walking distance to swim in the river or lake. The accommodation options currently are tenting or a camper. We have extended family members and friends who visit regularly. We have a fenced garden with herbs, vegetables, vines and fruit trees. We try to keep the grounds free from invasive plants like broom, black berries, and daphne. We do have solar panels to help with hydro. We have lots to do on the property, in the garden and there is always a project on the go.

Bring your skills and abilities to assist with building a tiny house,Or gardening, food processing projects, landscaping, yard maintenance, and firewood. Enjoy painting driftwood, use acrylics and watercolours, make garden name signs and wreaths or posies,. drying herbs and flowers. Share in cooking and sharing meals. We are vegetarian and occasionally fish is served with meals when we have someone who knows how to cook it. Our son-in-law just went on a big sea fishing trip. The family has moved back to Winnipeg but the fish is here

We have ample parking, water and electricity, and in the town there are amenities for dumping, re-fueling, and charging. The land is like a park with trees, a creek with swim hole, meadows, a small greenhouse, garden and forest.
