Beschreibung
We are a community of artists from all over the world. we have artists from Ireland, Germany, Brazil, Indonesia, France, Japan, India, etc. Every year we receive many artists who desire to express their art and share it with the community and the world. Some of them stay for a few weeks, and others are here for many years.
The director of the community, has a lot of interest in puppets, pageantry, and abstract art, at the beginning he spent several years traveling around the world, visiting festivals, and looking for community projects. It's why today the community is inspired by Seattle’s Fremont Solstice and Nevada’s Burning Man festival.
the community consists of several buildings with workshops inside, a Chinese restaurant, and a residential building of 100 apartments with a first-floor theater. we also organize an annual puppet/samba parade filled with huge papier-mache puppets, stilt walkers, batucada teams, and lots of costumed school children. we also take part in other parades in all of Taiwan.

During your time here you will have the chance to learn more about Taiwan culture and also about several different cultures. We have artists and volunteers from all over the world. We are a big family working in a good atmosphere.
For those who want to learn and share their art with the world, you will find our place a valuable experience.

ANY KIND of artist with all types of skills (dancing, singing, theater, sculpturing, paper mache, painting...etc.) we have all the tools and the community that you need to make your project become reality. If you have an art project and would like to make it real, send us a message and let us know about it.

Unterkunft
The volunteering is 5 hours per day with 2 days off a week or whenever it suits us and you.
Also, we would suggest you not take a day off on Sunday, so you can help and join our Sunday activities.
We provide lunch and dinner, but it may not be suitable for vegetarians.
You will have your room and a shared bathroom. No AC and no Wi-Fi here.

How to get to us from the Airport? Take bus 1843 to "Nangang Exhibition Center" get off the bus and go to the other side of the road to take bus 817, a 15-minute ride( if you don't cross the road you will go in the wrong direction). get down at the Jinlong village bus stop. the Art Center is 500m from there.
An easier solution would be to get off the bus 1843 at the Nangang Exhibition Center and take a taxi. it is 10 mins ride, 150ntd ( $5 us) .

The main task I had was to make a wall painting as part of Natha's French project but I also helped him with other minor tasks. I also joined a Bollywood-themed Sunday party (which are regularly held at the community).
