Description
We are Jan and Will, a couple from the Netherlands. We are living in Greece since 2017. In the summertime we rent 2 accommodations for guests at our small paradise. We live in a rural part of the South-West Peloponnese, Messinia - Greece. Although easy accessible, our spot is rural, amidst olive groves and very quiet. Entertainment here you find in nature itself. The view is into a valley, to the mountains. We have 2 dogs, cats and chickens. Next to the rental, we have a number of Olive trees that need maintainance. Next to us, also our daughter is living in her own house at our property.
From WorkAwayers we ask to be hard-working, pro-active and reliable to do the jobs.
We can make you a vegetarian meal but we will not provide you with vegan food.
We appreciate to have a videocall before we decide to accept your request.

You are entering a small Dutch family, moved to this beautiful country because they fell in love with it. In our area there are lots of cultural and archeological sites to visit. Whatever we know about the area we will share with you. We, from our side , are interested in your backgrounds, knowledge and interests.
Help
Outside of the season there's a lot of work in the olive grove and the gardens among the accommodations. This means to clean the gardens from weeds, to prune and cut branches, remove old plants and plant new ones. Clean the grounds of the olive grove and around the trees.
Because most of our amenities are made of wood also sanding, priming and painting is part of the tasks.
Also I can need some help cleaning and taking care of the chickens and the coop.
Transferring the old compost to the vegetable garden and cleaning and planting in the vegetable garden.
Help is needed at the end of October - November for harvesting of the olives.
If more workawayers are staying help might be needed at preparing meals.

Accommodation
You will stay at one of our lodges. They are built by Jan for our guests in spring-summer season. The facilities are very complete. Depending on the number of workawayers you will stay with max. 3 people in a lodge. Bathroom is shared. Bed and bath linen is provided.
We provide you with groceries for your breakfast and lunch at the lodge in the outside kitchen at the veranda. We will prepare dinner a couple of days per week at our house, the other days you can prepare your meal at the lodge
In general in the weekends you are free of work and you provide your own meals. You keep the amentities clean for yourself and your companion WorkAwayers.
We do ask you to leave the place as you found it, so new WorkAwayers can stay in it.
Please remind that the accommodation you live in, is our way of earning a living by renting them out in spring & summer. Take care of the place as if it is your own.
In general works will be done from 8am untill 2pm, with a coffee break around 10.30.
What else ...
As said, lots of cultural and historical sites are worth while visiting. Nature, hiking and walking is close by as well. 2 times a day local busservice is availible, if you want to explore the area intensive it's good to rent a car.

The lodge you live in, has a small living room which could be used as a working space. It is not closed. It is an open space. The wifi connection is quite good according to Greek, rural terms.
Space for parking camper vans
When travelling in a campervan you can park at our property up untill 7 meters long. You can use water and electricity. We don't have a facility to empty your chemical toilet.
