Das Beste war der Besuch der bayerischen Berge und Seen und es war schön, alle Freunde dieser Familie zu treffen, besonders den freundliche Franz und Michaels wunderschöne Farm :)

Akli joined us for two weeks and was helping in timber works as well as renovating the interior of our house.
He really is a very polite and hard-working person.
Akli helped in the forest working with the wood-splitter , cutting the wood with a circular saw and loading the wood on the trailer.
We also painted the interior of our house, including

He is a fast learner and did all the work reliable and in a very proper way.
We enjoyed the time very much and thoroughly recommend him!

Meabh joined us - unfortunatelly - only for a short time cause she had to leave us due to an injury.
She is such a helpful, polite, calm person and it was a pleasure to get to know the canadian french dialect - sometimes a challenge to me but never a problem.

EN|I spent 2 wonderful weeks with Fanny and Peter! They are both extremely generous persons who kindly invited me in their home. It was really nice to share their daily life and meet their numerous friends who are also great and funny.
For the work, I mostly renovated an old bench and table, but I also helped Peter install a cable to connect his
… read more solar panels to the neighbours, I mowed the lawn, and some other odd jobs. I felt like the work wasn't very hard and the hours weren't counted and all precise, which I appreciated.
I had a lot of pleasure speaking french with Peter, particularly when he invited me to one of his night classes! Also I could greatly practice my geman with Fanny and all the friends that came home. In only 2 weeks, I felt I made some progress! (eventho there is still muuuuch work to do haha).
I also accompanied Peter during a montain biking trip to Benediktenwand and it was really one of my favorite moments of these 2 weeks.
Fanny and Peter, thank you so so much for everything!! You truly are amazing people and would love to come back see you one day!
FR| J'ai passé 2 excellentes semaines chez Fanny et Peter ! Ce sont tous les deux des personnes extrêmement généreuses qui m'ont très gentiment accueilli dans leur maison. C'était vraiment agréable de partager leur quotidien et rencontrer leurs nombreux amis eux aussi tous géniaux et drôles.
Pour le travail, j'ai principalement rénové un banc et une table usés, mais j'ai aussi aidé Peter à installer un câble pour connecter ses panneaux solaires aux voisins, j'ai passé la tondeuse, et quelques autres petites choses. Le travail n'était pas très compliqué selon moi et les heures n'étaient pas comptées et millimétrées, ce que j'apprécie.
J'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à parler français avec Peter, notamment quand il m'a invité à venir à un de ses cours du soir ! De même, j'ai pu grandement pratiquer mon allemand avec Fanny et tous les amis qui sont passés à la maison. En seulement deux semaines, j'ai senti que je faisais des progrès! (même si il y a encore du boulot haha).
J'ai pu accompagner Peter pendant une sortie en vélo de montagne à Benediktenwand et c'était vraiment un de mes moments préférés de ces deux semaines.

We had a wonderful time at Stephanie and Peter's. They are kind, generous and passionate hosts. Because they participate in a cultural exchange with people from southern France, they had a few days of activities planned with them while we were there, a favour which they kindly extended to us as well. Added to that, Peter took us a few times to a nearby lake, where we learned the basics of sailing and even participated in the organisation of a boat race! The conversations we shared with him (in French!) were always interesting, and he never hesitated to crack a joke, which was really fun.
The workload was light, mostly household chores and gardening. This Workaway is appropriate for people who want a strong cultural exchange, with a familial feel to it.

… read more guides to discover Bavaria. We mainly stayed with Peter who will gladly show you the region. Peter is very active so be ready to hike, bike, swim, boat and met Peter's friends ! We enjoy discover this beautiful region ( green mountains and blue lakes) and learn more about the local culture by meeting Peter's friends. It's such a nice way to travel if you are looking for a cultural exchange. It was very intense, we learn a lot and really make the most of this experience thanks to Peter and Stephanie.
We helped around in the garden, with the housework, by cooking some french dishes ... and we helped Peter to improve his french.
The place is really nice, clean and with all the commodities.
