    What else ...

The region of Ticino is located in the South of Switzerland. It is almost entirely surrounded by Italy which lies to its East, West and South. The lakes Maggiore and Lugano make up a considerable part of the total area. These lakes are known with the above listed names, but are officially named Lake Verbano and Lake Ceresio.

    See:
    - Bellinzona, the capital of the canton Ticino. The city is famous for its three castles that have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2000.
    - Verzasca dam, popular for James Bond (Golden Eye) and bungee jumping.
    - The Gotthard Base Tunnel (57 kilometres), the longest and deepest railway tunnel in the world. The Gotthard Road Tunnel opened in 1980 and is 17 kilometres long.
    Hiking:
    - Tibetan Bridge of Curzutt (270 metres). Four-hour walk.
    Swimming:
    - In the lake "lago maggiore"

The climate of Ticino, while remaining alpine, is noticeably milder than the rest of Switzerland's, enjoying a higher number of sunshine hours and generally warmer temperatures.

To arrive it is the best to plan to arrive by train at Bellinzona where we will pick you up.
By airplane you arrive at Milan, Italy, and from there ( airport Malpensa) you have a train coming to Bellinzona.
