    Description

*Currently for women and couples only*

(I had a workaway account for a while but I couldn't take any people because that land had only a small hut, which I wasn't able to extend. But this year I bought 1.4 hectares of land with an old farmhouse that I need help with.

It's a beautiful land full of ancient trees and it has old-style buildings reflective of the old lifestyle of the people of Lithuania. It's a very quiet area, and though some neighbors are around, you may not even see them. So it's a perfect spot for people looking for spending time in peace in nature.

I'm looking for volunteers who can stay for at least one week, but ideally, I'm looking for LONG-TERM volunteers. Please do not apply for a shorter-term stay, therefore.

I would take one or two people maximum. If we get along, you can stay as long as you wish.

The kind of people I would most likely vibe with would have great interest in spirituality, traveling, and to whom maintaining peaceful and warm relationships is important. I would like to invite the kind of person who is calm and is okay in a company as well as on one's own. I would not vibe with someone into a partying lifestyle and whose not living by morals.

    IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

This place has no running water. You can boil water and there are enough large buckets to take a bucket bath in your room. At the moment, rooms don't have locks but your privacy won't be disturbed.

This place has only a compost toilet inside home, and an outdoor one.

So this farmhouse has no such conveniences, therefore people with the experience of living this way should be okay with it. But if you've never experienced life like this but only a city life, it can be tough for you.

You will have your own room. It's very quiet here, so you are welcome to read or meditate.

You will have two days off a week.

Work will be done around 5 hours a day, and you can take breaks when you need it. I'm not particular about when work should be done, so you can wake up when you want and start work when you feel ready.

    FOOD

I eat meat but most of my food is vegetarian. I prefer, therefore, people eating in a similar way. For vegans, it will not be ideal, as vegetables are definitely not the main thing eaten here.

It's mainly milk and eggs (I get them delivered fresh from farmers here whenever I need them), spaghetti, bread, butter, sweets, and some veggies. I have many apples as there are many apple trees on the property. I make jams and apple cheese with them.

This place is good for people who want to relax in nature, stay stress-free, detox from city living, drink fresh well water and eat local produce. It's good for people who want some peace and quiet in their lives. It's not so much about cultural exchange but I'm sure they can learn something from seeing how a person of another culture lives, I guess.

Current work would be taking water from the well, emptying wastewater and compost toilet waste, and probably some grass and bush cutting. There could be also the need to collect apples and maybe going with me on a bicycle to a local shop around 6 kilometers away.

During winter, snow shoveling would be required, and if I manage to get a machine for this, it would be done with it. Otherwise, it would be manual.

Other occasional work would be taking coal from the barn close to the house, and filling a container near a house with wood from the barn.

Home work could be painting, cutting apples and making jams, and other things that come up about home repairs or food.

To get here, the closest city to get to is Kedainiai. From Kedainiu bus stop, you will need to take a bus to the nearest village I will tell the name of once I agree to host you. You will need to walk an hour and fifteen minutes to reach this place from the bus stand. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Kedainiai, which should cost you 30 euros.

I have wifi but not for high-data uploading. However, if a person works well and wishes to stay long-term, I would get another sim with unlimited internet which should be enough.

People with vans are welcome. There's plenty of parking space here. I would need your driving services from time to time. There is no place for toxic waste removal, however.

    Can possibly accept pets

I would accept someone with a dog if the dog is tidy, doesn't bark for no reason, doesn't damage property, and who would only stay at home in the corridor space, but not in the main home space. That space is not heated, but obviously, it's warmer than outside.
