Hi, I'm Sho!
I 'm planning to start my journey in Africa using Workaway in April 2025!
I always had great expectations of going to an unknown place.
I find it very rewarding to get out of the community I am comfortable in, to be physical in an unknown place and to experience different things.
What motivates me is meeting people ,interacting with different cultures.
What I would like to experience through this oppotunity is
1, To interact with local people and to discover "indigenous knowledge"
-I'm majoring in cultural anthropology at university and am very interested in how each ethnic group has been influenced by its surrounding environment and how this has been reflected in its lives and culture.
Therefore, I would like to deepen my knowledge of the topography and vegetation as a place of life, the impact of the creatures living there on their lives, the resulting unique diet (hunting and gathering, farming, etc.), architecture, clothing, crafts, economy, customs, healing practices, language, myths and folklore, music, and more.
Each ethnic group is full of "indigenous knowledge" such as wisdom and ingenuity that have been cultivated over a long period of human life in response to the environment. I hope that the Workaway will provide an opportunity to uncover such knowledge and rethink how to apply it to modern society.
2,Enjoy nature to the fullest
- I have loved living creatures since I was a child. After returning home from school, I used illustrated books on various living creatures until the paper was torn. I have also been fascinated and attracted by beautiful landscapes around the world, and have continued to look at many guidebooks and photo albums. In addition, observing and collecting butterflies and visiting waterfalls are no longer hobbies but rather my purpose in life, and I have been doing so for almost 10 years. I am interested in all the creatures, landforms, and landscapes that nature has created, and I hope that this workaway will be an opportunity to experience these things with all my senses.
3,Communication with local people
-And of course, I have extraordinary expectations for communicating with the local people through their language. Actually, I have learned English, French, and Spanish in addition to my native language, and learned Indonesian on my own when I traveled there. I believe that knowing a language is not only about learning pronunciation or grammar, but also about society and culture.
I'd like to learn their native language from many people.
I also hope that I will have the opportunity to discover new ways of thinking and perceiving things that I can gain through communication, and that I will be able to use them in my future life.Interesses

Quais são suas habilidades?
Since I'm still a university student, I do not have much work experience as a working adult, but I have one year of agricultural experience in Australia, where I worked on a banana farm for six months, a lychee farm for three months, and a mango farm for three months. I have also worked part-time as a cram school teacher in Japan and am skilled at teaching.
I majored in cultural anthropology at university, so I'm confident in my knowledge of peoples, cultures, and societies. I also have a lot of knowledge about nature and living things. I'm a native speaker of Japanese, somewhat fluent in English, and speak French, Spanish, Indonesian, and Bislama (the official language of the Republic of Vanuatu) at an intermediate level. In addition, I hold a drone license.Idade

As for work, I'mwilling to work hard at whatever I am given! I would like to experience improving the livelihoods of local communities, protecting the environment, working with local industries, and much more!
I'm currently planning to travel alone in African countries for about 8 months starting in early April 2025, and I plan to spend about a week in any of the host countries. However, my itinerary is quite flexible, and depending on how it is put together, the dates of my visits may not be decided until the last minute or may go back and forth, in which case I will give at least a month's notice. As for languages, I speak English somewhat fluently, and although I am still learning French and Spanish, I consider myself to be beginner to intermediate. I have a driver's license but can only drive AT cars. I'm gonna bring my own tents, so if you can't provide a place to stay, Ican work something out. I hope this will be an opportunity to learn about language, culture and customs, economics, art, nature and biology, local community issues, and much more. I'm planning to give a small souvenir from Japan to those who become our hosts, so please look forward to it!Mais algumas informações
