Hi I'm Melissa, 28-year-old Italian girl, nice to meet you!

I am passionate about music, cooking - especially plant-based dishes but also traditional Italian food - visiting new places and diving into new cultures. As a nature enthusiast and someone who has grown up with pets, I enjoy walking outdoors and being surrounded by animals, I love swimming and enjoy spending time by the sea and river in the summer.

I am a calm but active person. I am also very curious to discover new things and learn new skills.

I hold a Master's degree in International Business and Development. My dream is to pursue a career in international cooperation.
During my academic years, I simultaneously worked hard in a variety of roles, including as a store cashier, delivery driver, babysitter, and help desk customer service for a multi-utility company.

I spent three months in Vietnam during my degree to collect data for my thesis about waste management, this experience helped me developing intercultural communication skills and adaptability.

Later I spent six months in Kolkata, India, working for a company in education and communication.

I am here to get new experiences around the world and connect with people :)

Quais são suas habilidades?

- I have nearly two years of experience working with children. I spent almost a year living as an au pair in County Kerry, Ireland, where I took care of three kids full-time, cook for them and in addition I was doing household chores and taking care of the family's doggy.

- Most of all, I love dogs and animals in general! I have experience caring for pets.
I volunteered at a shelter with nearly 140 dogs near Sofia, Bulgaria for two months (April-May 2025).
My first solo travel experience abroad was at 18, when I spent a month on a farm in Switzerland. I cared for baby goats (I fed them milk and hay) while also assisting with setting up tables for the farm stay clients and general cleaning duties.

- My first workaway was a cultural exchange with an amazing Turkish family and working at their walnut farm.

- Generally, I am deeply interested in social and environmental sustainability. During my academic years, I actively participated in a student group that organized activities to raise awareness about climate change and environmental issues among our city's citizens, including book presentations with authors, film screenings, and the creation of social media content. I'm not a professional, but I enjoy using Canva to try to create nice graphics.

- During my job in Italy in the customer service sector I developed skills such as good communication and active listening.
