Hello~
My name is Huini (Queenie), I'm currently taking a bit of a gap to figure out what I'm up to next in life. I used to work in software engineering but I decided to step back since I disliked the lack of human interaction. People usually describe me as bubbly, energetic and positive.
Workaway caught my interest because it seems like a great way to learn or practice some hands on skills and to give back to a community! In 2024, I did a 3-month solo backpacking trip across Europe and also hiked to Machu Picchu in Peru. In each new place I visited, I stayed with a local and found it extremely interesting just to share our own stories and see how different people in different places live. Not to mention, I loved to share my own Chinese heritage by teaching others how to make dumplings or other Chinese desserts.
My current interests revolves around cooking, yoga/mindful meditation and learning how to garden. I've also completed a TEFL and am quite fond of languages!

Quais são suas habilidades?
I love cooking and coming up with new recipes. If I had to describe the food I make, it is like a blend of chinese and mediterranean. I also enjoy making bread and various Chinese buns :).
I'm also great with computers. Did software development work for at least 3 years.
Finally, got some teaching experience as well. I have a TEFL certificate and I've taught web development online to refugee woman!
