Woaw! So many adventures in two months, my camera roll filled with 2 500 additional photos is proof of that! This experience will remain etched in my memory forever. Thank you again, Dave and Jody, for welcoming me into your home and your family. It was the most memorable and unforgettable summer I have ever had (also the coolest, haha). Dave and Jody's living environment is a change of scenery, surrounded by nature and animals rather than people and other infrastructure, which is very enjoyable. For me, my primary goal in doing a workaway was to improve my English: mission accomplished! So, when I left France, I had no particular expectations. Every day was full of surprises, and I loved going with the flow of Dave's lifestyle, which is very busy. I discovered one of my new favorite foods: moose! Delicious on the barbecue. As far as aviation goes, it was truly an extraordinary place! Whether it was seaplanes, amphibious aircraft, firefighters, doctors, or tourists, there was something for everyone at Anahim Lake Airport. I also really enjoyed hearing Dave's stories about the former Workaways he had! It was very enriching (if you are reading this and decide to embark on this adventure, you will hear my stories soon enough lol). In fact, I got to meet three of them during my stay! We are a bit like a big family ^^ I will stop here, otherwise I could talk for hours and reveal all the secrets of this wonderful experience that awaits you. I am very happy to have had this first Workaway experience with Dave! A thousand thanks! See you soon, and give all your animals a hug for me ;) Laeticia

We had such a great time at this beautiful place. We felt very welcome and already had the full Sweden experience at our first day, when we jumped into the lake together with Mari and Finn. We were very flexible in planning our days, so we also visited Uppsala and went hiking from time to time. We really enjoyed talking about food and nutrition with Mari - and of course eating all the delicious veggies and apples from her own garden. Mari made sure that we ALWAYS have a side salad with EVERY meal, that definitely is one thing we will remember :D And of course we worked in the garden together and we can't wait to see the result next year, when everything is blooming! We would love to come back and play another round of The Mind and Uno together. Thanks for having us and hopefully see you soon, Luca & Christin :)

Damián and Julian, I wanted to send a massive thank you for the three incredibly memorable weeks we spent together. Your energy, enthusiasm, and genuine kindness made this time truly special, and I am so grateful you chose to spend it with me and my family. It was such a pleasure getting to know you both. I'll always remember the fun we had—from the emergency party and the emergency dinner to our simple but perfect pizza nights. Our trip to the Cowboys pub was a highlight, and I especially loved the moments where you taught me some French! You were absolute stars when it came to helping out. The work you put in on the field and caring for the farm—the cows, chickens, dogs, and cats—was a huge help, especially as you noted I have a lot of work! Beyond the farm, you kept the house impeccably clean, which was simply amazing. Your review was so kind, mentioning that I was "always willing to share all his knowledge." That meant a lot to me, and I was thrilled to help you improve your Spanish! I'm glad I could use my English to help you learn, and it's fantastic to hear you're leaving feeling more fluent. Finally, my parents asked me to send their deepest thanks as well. They truly enjoyed spending time with you while they were working on their new project. Knowing they got to connect with you made their time here even better. Thank you for everything, from your help on the farm to your wonderful company. You were the perfect guests, and I hope our paths cross again someday. All the best, Léo

I really had a great time with Peter and Ann. Both are very nice and have a good sense of humor. You can learn a lot from Peter there – language skills, about olives, homemade bread, and honey. Ann is a very good cook. It’s a really beautiful place, and the dogs are very sweet.

Late, but worth the wait (hopefully;) - here's my review. My one month stay on the farm has been such a special time that it’s hard to find the right words for it. From the moment I arrived, Abang/ Captain ;), Kakak, Chikako, Jai and the whole crew welcomed me with open arms and made me feel part of his big incredible family. The work was varied and rewarding, with tasks such as weeding, harvesting, birdscaring, building, watering. I’m so happy about how much I learned about organic rice farming. We also got to help with taking care of the chickens and ducks, which was a fun and unexpected bonus. But it was the moments in between the work that really made my stay special. Captain and his family have a way of making you feel at ease, and we would often break out into spontaneous song and dance sessions (thanks to Captain's favorite tune!). The food was also amazing, with Captain's wife Kakak cooking up delicious meals that always left me feeling satisfied and energized for the day ahead. I'm so grateful for the experience and the memories that I made during my time on the farm. If you're looking for a unique and rewarding workaway experience, I would highly recommend staying with Captain and his family. You won't regret it! Thank you, Abang, Kakak, Chikako, Jai, all the volunteers I got to know, and the rest of the gang, for everything. And a special thanks for the invitation to celebrate Hari Raya together! Until we meet next time...

A month and a half of adventures, new friends, new work experiences, and cultural exchanges! Angie and Craig provided everything we needed, including a car to visit the extraordinary places surrounding them! The tasks were simple and varied, from preparation to harvesting to packing the grapes, some renovation work, and some gardening. Thanks to Angie, I learned new techniques that I will try to implement in my vineyard. I will miss Craig's talks and his philosophy of life and hope to meet them again in the future. A very positive experience that I recommend to everyone! Thank you for this adventure! And a shout out to Gracie (the dog) who came every day to say good morning and play a little!

I spent just over a week with Sébastien and Manon, and it was my very first Workaway experience. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better start! They’re such warm, generous people, and their dog Mooi is just the sweetest thing. They set me up in a cozy room with a really comfortable bed, and from day one I felt right at home. The first few days were pretty rainy, so I hung out inside mostly, but as soon as the weather cleared up, I was out cycling along the Seine. The nature around there is beautiful, and the village has this really peaceful, charming vibe. Manon showed me what she does for work too, which was actually really interesting. My tasks were pretty straightforward — helping out around the house, doing some renovation work, and cooking dinner during the week. Nothing too demanding, and the whole atmosphere was just so relaxed and family-like. Oh, and I have to mention — Manon introduced me to what might be the best croissants in the world, from Nogent-sur-Seine. Seriously amazing. While I was there, my French got so much better too. Both Sébastien and Manon were really patient with me, which I really appreciated. I’m so grateful for how welcoming they were. It was such a great experience, and I’d definitely do it again in a heartbeat.

Eda was really great helper for us. We accept her for about 1month as Hostel helper. She Work hard and she is a very social and friendly person as well. She cooked for us some Turkey sweets which is super good. I highly recommend her for other hosts. We are always waiting your return.

If the word heart had an adjective, it would be HEARTIST because that's what I've felt since day one. A gentle, calm, friendly, accepting, creative, and full of joy experience. Toby and Maria are a family that naturally inspires one to have a beautiful family such as theirs. Jona and Kim! artists in the making! Kids full of energy and yet super respectful and curious, and sharing. Now... I know I was lucky to have been there during summer break, but I'm sure that throughout any time of the year, if you're someone who can willingly give, then the energy will be reciprocated, so don't waste this family's time and energy! because there is work that needs to be done! Work Hard and play even harder. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING! It was truly a blessing.

Julieta and Fabrizio are a lovely couple, cheerful, easy to get on with and willing to help . They got on really well with our two dogs and could be trusted to take each dog for his walk, morning and evening, see to their meals and put them to bed. Both dogs miss them! Our cats normally aren't very friendly to strangers but Monty went on a walk with Julieta which is the first time he has ever been that trusting of a guest. We enjoyed their company and learning about Argentina and would happily welcome them back any time.

Karlie was the 12th Workawayer I hosted here in my Workaway. She came in July when it was crazy hot in Osaka. It was the hardest time of the year to do anything here because it was simply too hot especially this year. Renovation of one of the rooms was the main task at that time. Workawayers including her had to research by themselves using ChatGPT, Google, translation app, etc since I even didn't know how to renovate the room, but I was so lucky to have her here as she was one of those proactive people who can figure out the solution by themselves without me giving specific instructions. I remember vividly how she pasted shikkui (Japanese plaster) on the wall of the kitchen, and I can still see her shadow when I see the wall every time. I would say she became a shikkui master very quickly. The main reason why I invited her to my Workaway was that she was an art curator. My goal of this place is to make it an artist-in-residence for filmmakers, but I didn't have any ideas at all. I asked her many questions about how AIRs in Europe work and asked suggestions. Probably she doesn't even remember because my questions were very vague, but I got better ideas after talking to her. I have hosted many artists as Workawayers, but I think she is the only one art curator so far (she is an artist too). It was very helpful to hear voices of someone like her with deep experiences in art curation. The most memorable thing about her was that she cooked very delicous British Chinese food! I think by the end of the day, what matters most about Workaway is cooking for Workawayers or eating food cooked by Workawayers. There are many Chinese restaurants out there, but who can taste British Chinese food in Osaka? I have to say that I was super lucky. You should host her just to taste her delicous British Chinese food! Thank you, Karlie for all your help here, and I'm so glad that I made a new wonderful friend through Workaway!

I had the pleasure of hosting Petra for two weeks and it was a wonderful experience. Petra was fantastic with my children - they got along really well and she even helped patiently with removing lice from their hair (not the most pleasant task, but she did it without complaint!). In the kitchen, she was a star. Her vegan cooking was absolutely delicious. She was also super practical: she expertly repotted nearly all of my houseplants, which has made them look much healthier. Together with another Workawayer, she also waterproofed the canvas of my yurt, which means it can last for years to come. As the cherry on top, Petra regularly gave me piano lessons - an unexpected gift that I really appreciated. It was really nice getting to know Petra and she's more than welcome to come back anytime!

Always welcome to our little forest.

Maya is an absolutely wonderful human, and really a lot of help. Her work ethic and wish to contribute is only matched by her kindness and free spiritness. She's an extraordinary traveler with many stories, knowledge and genuine wish to explore the world. She helped above and beyond any expectations.

An chan stayed at the farm for 2 weeks. During this time, she helped out many tasks in the farm. Daily routine of feeding the chicken and cleaning the coop were carried out well. The guesthouses were cleaned well and neat. An is always willing to help out even though she is pretty quiet and reserved. All the best in your studies and come back to Malaysia one day

Atsuki volunteered at our farm for about a week. Although too short to learn many things, Atsuki is always willing to learn and try new things. He is always helpful and attentive. Thank you for all your help and all the best in completing your studies

Calling my time with Vita a “Workaway experience” doesn’t quite feel right- it was so much more than a simple work-and-accommodation exchange. I truly enjoyed the daily rhythm, our dinner conversations, the laughter, and the sharing of knowledge. As others have mentioned, the work can be physically demanding- the equipment is heavy, and you’ll be walking up and down hills often- but the effort was rewarding, and I slept like a baby each night after being so well fed! I stayed for three weeks, and the time flew by. This experience is perfect for anyone who genuinely wants to embrace everything Vita describes in her profile. Vita is a wonderful person and a fantastic host. The next time I see her, it’ll be as a friend rather than a Workawayer.

This was an unexpected Workaway for sure, but a really fun experience. Loved the evenings playing pool and table tennis, and it was nice to share this with other workawayers as well. Dave is a bit of a character, but a good one.Thank you for everything, I really appreciated the laughs along the way.

I stayed with Nadine, Marcel and Lillie for almost a month. It was a lovely stay, their apartment is very welcoming and they were easy to get along with. It was lovely to share a few meals together and learn how to make a german plum cake. The stay included cooking dinners, some cleaning/tidying around the apartment, a little time with Lillie, and a few other odd jobs. It was great chatting about what was needed at the beginning of the week and making a plan, it worked really well having some flexibility on both sides to managed what was needed. Nadine and Marcel also had some great reccomendations for things to do and see around Berlin. Thank you for the workaway stay!
