Riley supported us brilliantly on our farm for four weeks. The time flew by and was therefore far too short. Her calm, always friendly, and approachable nature touched our hearts. If she hadn't already had a family, we would have adopted her! And she's great with the horses! No matter what needed to be done, Riley always had a smile on her face. We wish she could stay much, much longer... but we're sure she'll come back to visit us! And we're really looking forward to it! 😊

What a great, polite and hardworking young man! Quinn was extremely helpful, listened to the directions and was wonderful with animals. He has a great sense of humor, very smart and fantastic in problem solving! We felt like he was a member of our family. We hope to see him again soon.

My partner and myself organised 3 meals a day for 7 days in the context of a retreat organised by Sylwia and Lucia (another workaway host in Lefkada). The retreat was located at Lucia's place (Alnona) and centered on human-design. My partner was able to join the activities. On my side I juggled the complicated dietary requirements of one of the participants (no nightshades, no seeds, no lentils/rice/cheakpeas...) to put a meze-style meal on the table at breakfast and dinner (avg 5 dishes) and a gaspaccho or soup at lunch. All in all a very nice experience.

Washington is a very calm guy. He did the dishes in our restaurant. Unfortunately he had to leave before the end of the contract ( by telling me after leaving in the night). He was always willing to help his colleagues by cleaning rooms or things like that

Wow! This was truly a perfect experience for me. Genaro is the nicest guy, and one of the most interesting conversationalist I've had the privilege to talk to. As soon as I got to the house, I felt very welcomed and at ease, as Genaro makes an effort to make everyone feel included, and gives everyone a chance to share their thoughts.Being in the Portuguese countryside was such a relaxing setting. If you are a musician who is needing a break from the monotony of daily life, especially if you live in the city, this is the perfect place to unwind, be in a musical community and to talk, play, and experience great music. Genaro took us to a small music festival in Lisbon where we got to see some unbelievable musicians that he knows. It was really inspiring to see a thriving diverse group of artists bringing so much energy to the stage. I also really enjoyed being out in nature, going on hikes, gardening, and painting . This really allowed me to get out of my head and to enjoy the surroundings and the conversations with people. Overall it was just what I needed, and I can't thank Genaro enough for having me at the house. I hope to return again some day soon. Inshallah.

Maria was a valuable help during her stay with us. Always available, reliable, and with a lovely smile, she easily integrated into the house and with the animals. She carried out her tasks with seriousness and attention, showing initiative when needed and great respect for both the space and the people.

It was very special to have Jaco and Alex host me (and Merlot) for our very first Workaway stay. They were super warm and friendly and helped me feel very relaxed and welcome. It will be a delight to revisit in the future. Big appreciation to you both for your hospitality. ❤️

My three weeks with Sara and Flo flew by super fast, because I enjoyed myself so much with them! They both are fantastic human beings: kind, intelligent, open-minded, and ahead of most people in living a sustainable life. As for work, the main thing I did was taking off the weathered planking of part of the barn and together with Flo replaced it with new boards. In addition, I did a few other things: preparing the barn for winter, harvested potatoes, and whitewashing fruit trees. The only thing I tried to do and didn’t succeed with was preventing an extremely beautiful but stubborn door from scraping – but I will be back to make it work at some point in the future! Sara and Flo are great at communicating things clearly, so I always knew what to do and how to do it. They have great tools - which really helps (and is not always the case with Workaway hosts). Also, they picked me up on arrival at the closest train station and drove me back when I left. The wood mill is an incredible place. It is really remote (for German standards), surrounded by beautiful nature and super quiet. The night sky almost rivals the Sahara desert! Also, there are many great hiking paths nearby. I actually went for a walk to the neighboring Czech Republic one day, which only takes a bit more than an hour. Talking about hiking: I also went to nearby Markneukirchen, the main town in the area, several times – which is quite doable if you enjoy walking (though keep in mind that this is a mountainous area!). Most of the time I shared dinner with Sara and Flo, they invited me to a wonderful and memorable cacao ceremony, and we went for a hike in the nearby mountains. I couldn’t have asked for more and highly recommend staying with them. Thank you, Sara and Flo, for a great time! PS: I also want to thank the cats, Mietzer and Elsa, as well as visiting cat guest Shiva for plenty of entertainment throughout my stay!

Tim has many skills, is talented, hardworking, and great with our dogs. Was a pleasure and good to have a responsible and supportive man in our home. From doing dishes, cooking, building bird houses, clearing brush and taking down trees, and too many other chores to mention. He will always be welcomed back to our home.

Ryan stayed a week here and busied himself with some outdoor work, but was of particular help replacing a kitchen bench top. He brings with him quite a few handyman skills! Ryan was a thoughtful and considerate guest, interesting company and I enjoyed his presence here. He is welcome back anytime. Thanks again Ryan, I really appreciate the DIY help.

Helena is lovely, hard working and considerate. She fit well in the family and with the other workawayers. We would highly recommend Helena to other hosts.

ahhh this place is an actual dream, if your ever lucky enough to volunteer with Ninon at La Chamba do it! I was meant to stay for 2 weeks and ended up staying for 5, and easily could of stayed for much longer! Ninon is the dream boss, super kind and generous and always happy to help! the work is so so chilled, and getting to live with the other volunteers is honestly so so much fun! All the guests at the hostel are super chilled and it's just the best atmosphere! I'm sure I'll definitely be back one day❤️❤️ SO much love! 🧡

Was a wonderful experience to have Annabelle stay with us. She is hardworking, very creative and artistic (she did incredible woodburning artwork on the birdhouses we make) and was a pleasure to have in our home. Great company to be around,, wonderful and responsible with our dogs, and clean and tidy. I hope she will come and stay with us again.

I worked for a month at Temakinho restaurant and loved it. I really enjoyed the work and the people who work there. I learned how to make various drinks and coffees. The work is relaxed, nothing too strenuous, just keeping the bar organized and supporting the waiters. I wish I could stay longer, but I had to leave. The place is comfortable and is 20 minutes from work, and Tirana is my favorite city. Thank you very much for everything, and see you next time.

We directly felt welcome at Anettes place and loved spending hours in the sun on the beautiful terrace or working in the forest. Lise is also living at Anettes place since a few months and these two women have very different energys, but they complement each other so well! We enjoyed talking with them in the circle in the morning and even if we are not that spiritual, we just gave it a try and focused on what felt good for us. It was definitely a good way to get to know each other so much faster than you would normally do and also to learn a lot about yourself. When it comes to work we created a new path in the forest: Removing the weeds, cutting down a tree, placing all the sticks on the ground and then just being creative. Luca carved a moon and a sun with the chainsaw, Christin did the same with a hammer and a chisel. We also decorated the path and of course celebrated every tiny thing we did at the end of the day <3 It feels great to know that Anette and Lise will walk our path from now on and that other people will also contribute to the place in the future. Besides these really good experiences we also had some different opinions on some topics and had some serious discussions. But we could focuse on what we have in common afterwards which was a nice experience and which lets us think about the stay in a very good way. We had such a great time at Olafs and Amilias place! Even if we will stay in mind as the "sick germans" (we both had a cold and Luca had some issues with his shoulder), we made many nice experiences. As Luca is a landscaper and gardener, he did a lot of planning for future garden projects. So if you want to be part of realising them, this is your place to be! Christin did a lot of cooking, painting and some tasks in the garden as well. We also were very lucky to experience the Mossarun, which Olaf organized together with some friends (they ran way more than 100 kilometres through the forest withing 24 hours!). Even if it was quite busy from time to time we managed to talk and play games together with Olaf and Amilia or playing some music at the campfire (also together with two other workawayers). We also enjoyed jumping on the trampoline together with Kiljan, their 5 year old son and doing some workouts in the well equiped home gym. Thanks for having us and hopefully we will see each other again in the future. Maybe when we go bikepacking through Sweden next year. Luca & Christin

My experience at the Camping was incredible! something that i will not forget in my life. There is a comfortable place with a really nice vibes, starting for the greats kind of people that Ani and Eris are, every time trying to help you or talk with you whatever is needed. Also Baksi is a friendly and smart dog so i'm happy to took care of him. The camping is close to the beach and you have everything there, like hot water, electricity and the most important thing good people who receive you in the best way. I recommend everyone to have an experience here! there is a place that for sure i'll come back in the future Thanks Ani, Eris and Baksi for this amazing memory
