I had an incredible experience volunteering at this homestay in Bir! Sourabh, the host, was an amazing person - friendly, welcoming, and full of interesting stories. I really enjoyed our conversations and learned a lot from him. During my stay, I got to manage operations and interact with guests at both the homestay and the café, which was a great way to get hands-on experience. I also spent a lot of time with Abhishek and Jignesh, volunteering, as well as exploring the true essence of Bir. If you’re looking for a place where you can learn, contribute, and immerse yourself in the local culture, this homestay is perfect. I left with wonderful memories and meaningful connections!

Irma merged with our home life and activities as if she had always been there. Her care, warmth and boundless curiosity immediately opened a space for us all to be ourselves, perfectly suited to the invitation we do our best to extend here. Her skills in the garden, kitchen, forest and house exceeded any expectations I might have had and it was a joy to tame ashweed for hours on end together. Irma was here on three occasions, the first time for about a month, the second time, two weeks and the third time as a guest at our Sundance support camp. She left us with a newly, creatively painted stairwell andtwo matching plaster of paris lampshades, perfectly suited to the space, the light and the movement of going up and down stairs. She brought her natural curiosity to our spiritual practice, asking intelligent questions and participating in Sweat Lodges with the utmost respect. It was a blessing for our home to have Irma here and the door will always be open for her!

I spent three wonderful weeks with Nimo and her lovely family. Nimo is a generous, wise, and hardworking woman who truly loves her child. I learned a lot from her during my stay — she’s thoughtful, organized, and always full of positive energy. Her child is adorable and full of curiosity, and spending time together was always fun and heartwarming. Thank you, Nimo, for welcoming me into your home and for all the kindness and care you showed me. I really enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend this experience to any future Workawayers. 💛

Amy was a delight to host. She is great company, cheerful, willing and carried out all tasks assigned to her efficiently and with lots of energy. Amy appreciated learning new skills and was curious and interested in the landscape and garden. I would recommend Amy as an excellent volunteer who ticks all the boxes. I wish Amy well on her next exciting adventure.

Wonderful experience at the Reserve with Cecilia and Gaston! We spent two unforgettable weeks with Cecilia and Gaston at the Reserve in Caburé-i. The place is easily accessible by bus from Puerto Iguazú, which makes it very convenient to reach. The hosts are kind, welcoming, and always happy to share their knowledge. We worked alongside them almost every day in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Sometimes we shared meals together, which made for really nice moments of exchange. Volunteers stay in a cabin with a beautiful view of the river — a peaceful and calming place, perfect for resting after work. Just make sure to bring good mosquito repellent! Basic food supplies (vegetables and grains) are provided. The neighbor sells fresh eggs, and there’s a small kiosk about 20 minutes away on foot where you can buy extra items if needed. During our stay, we did many different tasks: weeding in the yerba maté field, harvesting turmeric and ginger, building a platform over the water, extending the volunteers’ cabin, and much more! There’s always something interesting to do around the reserve. In short, it was an authentic, enriching, and inspiring experience, perfect for those who love nature and hands-on work.

We helped for almost two weeks. It was rich in experience. There was a lot to do during the harvest season and we learned a lot about organic farming. The food was excellent and Ludivine and her family were very kind and welcoming. Thank you for the wonderful experience and for the delicious apple juice.

Nico joined us from the end of August until mid-October. He is a man of few words but many actions. Very attentive to the dynamics of the place, he quickly understood every task and always did his best to be of great help at the campsite. He has a calm and laid-back personality, yet he is also ready to step into a fast-paced rhythm whenever needed. During his stay, he contributed to all areas of our daily work, including cleaning, dinner preparation, hosting guests, presentations, and assisting with any other requests from visitors. He took care of our dog very lovingly You can easily delegate thing to him very trustfully Nico works equally well on individual tasks as he does in collaboration with others. He is a genuine, kind, and caring person, easy to talk to and a pleasure to work alongside. We truly enjoyed his help and his presence with us, and we highly recommend him to anyone who has the chance to welcome him. Best of luck in your journey Eris Ani and Baks

I had a truly wonderful time staying with Fanis and Aeneas! Aeneas is an easygoing and imaginative boy, always full of energy and bursting with creative ideas. He’s also very caring, with a big heart full of love and kindness. Fanis made me feel at ease from the very first moment we met. He’s such a kind, caring, and genuinely inspiring person-it’s impossible not to feel comfortable around him. The house is nestled in a peaceful village not far from Heraklion, offering the perfect blend of tranquility and connection to the surroundings. While I was there, Fanis introduced me to the beautiful sounds of the santouri and the oud. Thanks to him, I’ve now got my own oud and have started learning to play it! Long story short, if you're looking for a meaningful, authentic experience and the chance to meet two truly beautiful human beings, I fully recommend staying with Fanis and Aeneas. Sending you both lots of love and a big hug. Hopefully see you soon! Το Αγγελικό σας

I spent a month with Rita, Fiona, Daniela, and Raul in September. I felt at home pretty quickly and felt like a second family the are al very kindly. Fiona was on vacation, so they explained how everything works with the horses and chickens, so that when she wasn't there, I could do it myself. I was allowed to pick up the horses myself, morning and evening. It got warm pretty quickly, though, so I had to get up early in the morning, otherwise it would be too hot. Rita took me to a large shed to pick up the supplies she had ordered. It was fun to see how that works, as we don't have that in the Netherlands. I also went horseback riding, first in the arena, and then outside when Fiona was back. I didn't ride much, but that was also because it was too hot. Just being with the horses was also fun. One of the horses got a leg injury, so Daniela tried to stitch it up. It was interesting to see how she treated the wound and how she could help with some things. They also have five dogs who love a scratch, and sometimes one of them would even sleep with me. I went stand-up paddleboarding with Fiona and Sean on a river. There were lots of wild horses, and the scenery was beautiful. I also got to participate in the e-floting. I'd never done it before, so it was a lot of fun, though a little scary, but it was a really cool experience. I also went with Fiona to yoga. I'd never really done yoga before, and the first week was free, so we went almost every day, which was quite challenging but also a lot of fun. The teachers were also very kind and taught well. I also went to houses that Rita bought to resell. Rita also took me to salsa dancing parties, which was really fun to watch, and of course, I practiced and learned a few small steps. We also went to a pool party at a huge house, which you wouldn't normally be able to get to. I met new people there and had some great conversations. The food there is also really delicious, and I'll definitely miss it. It was a really fun and enjoyable time, and I did things I wouldn't normally do. I'll definitely miss everyone there, just the animals and the fun activities, and the warm weather. I'll definitely come back again because I miss it there already. Thanks for everything, and I definitely recommend everyone to go. Big hug, Krista.

Amazing students, very nice, friendly and ready to learn. I enjoyed my conversations with adult groups but also lessons with children. With teachers - Samia and Leyla I had a lot of time together, enjoying traditional Moroccan food and sharing stories about our cultures. Leyla has the nicest personality you could find. :) And addictive laugh as well. :) They are very professional in their work. Said, the partner of their school is also very helpful and friendly, always ready for a good talk. I was happy to have them all as my hosts here. FOLLOW ME, GUYS @Leyla, @Samia, @Zeyneb! :))

Veselka is an amazing person. I spent two weeks at her place and she trusted me to have an eye on her two horses and cutest dog of all while she was out and about. It was a peaceful time for me, I did some maintenance and cleaning in and around the house, painted the fence and cooked some soups to freeze for stock. The area is beautiful, I enjoyed walking in the nature and chatting with the English speaking neighbor. Veselka made me feel like home, we shared meals together and laughed a lot! She is fun and welcoming and meeting her family and friends was such a beautiful experience. Thank you so much!

I just can't thank you enough, Claudia and Simone. You did such a great job! Beside the work on the campingground, our piano and our dog also really benefited from your expertise. We were so lucky to have them working for us. We had a really lovely time with you guys! Wish you both many more great adventures on your travels.

I stayed just a week at the beach house, but the staff, Anthony and Patrica, made me feel right at home. The place is very peaceful, right on the beach in a small local village. There are some resorts nearby if you need WiFi or a place to work, and everything is accessible. The task is taking care of the place and any project they are working on. I really enjoyed my stay! Thanks for having me

I want to thank Olha for her work and involvement with our stable during her month with us. Taking care of horses wasn’t really easy for her and she faced some challenges, but we really appreciated her willingness and courage. I 'd like to highlight that she showed great adaptability in caring for the small ponies and preparing the horses food with care. Additionally, the car cleaning tasks she performed perfectly show that she is a meticulous and dedicated person. They looked spotless after she finished with them ! Olha, thanks for bringing your positivity!

Ozzie is a great host! I really enjoyed the time I spend with him. We did a lot of idea exchange and spend time together in his garden. We made couple of changes, I helped him with the garden and diy stuff during his renovations. He even showed me around in Datça. I assure you can easily get along with him. Thank you for everything Ozzie!

I had the best experience possible with Nuria, Ruben and family, they truly made me feel like a part of the family. I ended up staying a lot longer than planned, which worked out well for everyone in the end, I was made to feel comfortable and valued. The place itself is incredible if you're fond of nature as I am. I met amazing people, forged firm friendships and memories that will stay with me forever. I would highly recommend to anyone considering volunteering here, you won't regret it!
