What a legend! Having Jack stay and volunteer with us at the Hostel was an absolute joy from start to finish. He’s one of those people who brings calm energy, great humor, and reliability all in one. You could always count on him to get things done, but also to make everyone laugh along the way. Jack blended perfectly into the rhythm of hostel life — helping with daily tasks, chatting with guests, organizing little moments that made everyone feel connected. Whether it was setting up the breakfast area, helping around the pool, or sharing travel tips, he did it all with an easy-going attitude and a big smile. He’s respectful, hardworking, and full of good vibes — the kind of volunteer every hostel dreams of having. The guests loved him, the team appreciated him, and honestly, the place felt brighter with him around. Thank you, Jack, for all your help, your kindness, and your chill spirit. You left great energy behind and a lot of friends waiting to see you again in Albania. The door is always open for you — once part of the family, always part of the family!

Having Beth with us at the Hostel was an absolute blessing! From the very first day, she brought incredible positive energy, creativity, and genuine care that lifted the whole atmosphere of the place. She connected beautifully with guests from all over the world, always smiling, helpful, and ready to make everyone feel at home. Beth didn’t just help — she became part of the family. Whether it was assisting with check-ins, preparing breakfasts, keeping everything organized, or simply sharing great conversations by the pool, she did everything with passion and heart. Her dedication, respect, and enthusiasm for Albanian culture made her stand out even more. We feel really lucky to have met such a kind and inspiring soul. The hostel wouldn’t have been the same without her presence. Thank you, Beth, for your wonderful energy, for treating the place like your home, and for leaving behind so many happy memories. You will always have a special place here — our doors (and hearts) are open for you anytime!

Kerstin was a great help, always punctual and attentive in following all the instructions we gave her for our horses. She always worked with pleasure, and some evenings she even helped us in our restaurant, serving in the dining room. She proved to be precise and attentive in this role as well. We are happy to have had her here. She is a reliable, hard-working and honest person, and we will gladly host her again.

I stayed 4 weeks ,my girlfriend stayed 1 week with me in this beautiful house in Stroheim and what can I say? It was an amazing experience. First of all, the location is amazing, surrounded by a couple of houses only (which gives you quiet time and is ideal if you need to focus on your online work for instance ) , the near forest and open land, ensures you’re very close to nature. Also only a short bike ride away there are some old castle ruins, local viewpoints and the amazing Danube river and its biking path gives you enough options to explore the amazing area. As for the house, it has a very modern design and you can feel it was done with love. There's a big garden, with fresh vegetables and some chill areas like big lounges and hammocks. So eating outside or admiring stars on night skies were activities we enjoyed as well. What we loved were the animals. They gave you the feeling you’re not alone and they also are very adorable. Especially the cat Nala, who was around a lot and we loved her. Judging from her behaviour, the love was both sided😊But in nutshell to take care of them isn’t very hard, yet it shall be done regularly. And as for the hosts? We can barely imagine better ones. From the first day(when Judith came with her car to pick me up from Alkoven station and later served me some delicious homemade food, and gave me a house tour) they were just amazing. The communication was outstanding. We received daily video updates from their holiday which was a cute way to stay in touch, but obviously they communicated well, in depth and promptly when something was important. That way we always feel we can reach out if something annoying happens. We also received tips on trips from Oliver and Judith, while we were there and this was definitely of a big help. And even though we visited a lot of places, there were too few left from their list, we didn’t have the chance to see. So maybe we really need to come once again. 😊 To summarise it: if you search for some quiet time, surrounded by amazing nature, lovely animals and a big garden, while shooting and communicating with great hosts, this is a place you have to be. One note, you might consider coming with a car. Or be prepared to bike a steep hill up (for me it was doable) but I'm a very sporty person and it was challenging for me too. Having Archie stay and work with us was fantastic. He is a very very easy going, outspoken, very funny, and a hard worker New Zealander. Will miss him. He stayed for just over a month and did a lot of work - bushwacking a lot and learned how to prune olive trees. Always on time. Always talking to himself. Always with a smile. Always making fun of himself. Always there to talk and enjoy after-work conversations. Ate lots of vegetarian food (he was not used to it) and he liked it and was always thankful for the food he was served. Highly recommended to any host. If he applies for a position, grab him right a away. You will have a great time with Archie. Thank you, Archie, for your time with us. You have raised the bar for new volunteers.

Oriol y Aina son una pareja muy interesante, conversadora, divertida, muy correctos, además nos ayudaron en la irrigacion de nuestras chacras y lo mejor cocinan delicioso, cocinan unas tortas excelentes, esperamos volver a verlos !

We feel so lucky to have had Zuza and Julia as our volunteers! They were both enthusiastic, curious and such a joy to be around! We really appreciated your readiness to help, how proactive and responsible you are. We especially loved your creative problem-solving ideas and a big thank you for jumping right in to help with the shed on your very first day! Cosa posso dire di questa esperienza? Ho trascorso sei mesi nella casa con Franco e i suoi adorabili cani. La casa è vicina all'Etna, con viste incredibili. Ho persino avuto l'opportunità di assistere a molte eruzioni mentre ero lì. Franco è una persona meravigliosa. Ho imparato molto italiano da lui. Quando possibile, andavamo in bicicletta in posti che conosceva: gite meravigliose che mi sono piaciute molto. I cani sono adorabili; è stato un piacere prendermi cura di loro. È stata un'esperienza molto gratificante. Grazie di tutto, Franco.

Hosting Tamara was an infinite gift. She has been traveling full time and is full of life. So fun! She was helpful, kind, flexible, and creative. We shared fun activities. She cooked amazing food. She helped us in a variety of ways. She even bought groceries for us. I 100% recommend Tamara. Thank you Tamara for being an amazing human and a shining light in the world. You are appreciated!

My feedback is a little late, but I still often think of the wonderful time I spent there. Mona’s cooking was always creative and delicious, and I looked forward to every meal. Talking with Ron always made me feel warm and comfortable. I also really enjoyed the barbecue we had together — it was lovely to chat with everyone and share stories. Although I’ve experienced volunteering alone before, this time I met several other volunteers from different countries, and hearing their stories was very inspiring. My tasks included washing dishes, cleaning, and making beds — just small things within my ability — and I learned a lot through these new experiences. I also loved walking with the two adorable dogs; those moments were very special to me. There were two free days during my stay, and I had the chance to explore Galway. Mona kindly helped me choose a tour and even drove me into the city, which I truly appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness and for making my stay such a warm and memorable experience.

This was definitely the best workaway I have been so far. Its a wonderful place in the middle of the jungle, where you can connect perfectly with nature, take a rest from civilization, learn a lot about offgrid life and how to life in harmony with the jungle and the things it gives. With Korina, Guillermo, their kids and the other volunteers, who were there at the time, I instantly became a member of the little family and felt at home all the time. Perfect communication in all situations. The food was always delicious, outstanding and superhealthy, real junglefood. The daily task like cooking, cleaning, chopping fire wood, playing with the kids, gardening or building something were well organized and everyone could bring in some of his own skills or learn something new. Apart of the work we did fun community activities and also had enough free time to explore or just relax. All in all I highly recommend this Workaway to everyone who wants to live in the jungle with nature, find new friends, a new family and love.

We wholeheartedly recommend this place! We spent a wonderful month here. The hosts, Maxin and Klaus, are amazing people who share their beautiful home with others. The conditions in the cottage are very good and provide much-needed privacy. The garden is absolutely beautiful, with many cozy corners where you can relax, and there’s also a nice big swimming pool. Maxin and Klaus are very kind — they give Workawayers plenty of privacy, but at the same time, they offer their company, for example during shared painting sessions or meals. The atmosphere of the place is made even more special by the animals running around — three wonderful dogs and five cats. The work in the garden is not hard; it’s more about taking care of a lovely shared space. The farm is located on the edge of the town, so it’s easy to go shopping or visit a local restaurant. Órgiva is a charming little town with a great vibe, and the area around it is full of interesting places to explore — from mountains to waterfalls. It’s a real paradise! We hope to come back someday!

Had a fantastic month at the institute, the students were really nice and engaged - much better than some other schools I have been at. The town itself is small but lively and you will get a really great feel for a small Colombian town. The work itself was clear and not overwhelming, giving you lots of free time to do whatever you wanted. Wifi in the apartment was good too and I went to the gym a lot too. All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful - it never felt like work here, I would highly recommend for anyone wanting good teaching experience or a taste of a more local Colombian town. Special thanks to Anthony for letting me join in with his life while I was here. I will no doubt be back sooner or later, thanks for everything!!

Workawaying with Birgitta is plain marvellous. We enjoy each other's company very much. Sharing simple common subjects e.g. instrumental music, 50s-60s era songs, movie actors & actresses, caring for the home to ensure every nook and corner is clean, neat, organised and easy to find things. I enjoy helping Birgitta with home chores e.g. 1) hovering and mopping the floor (Biggie used to say I cleaned like ready for Christmas 😄) 2) ensuring the dishwasher is always reasonably full before commence washing whilst after job done, wait for it to dry quite completely before putting the crockeries, cups & saucers, utensils & other cooking peripherals back into the larder 3) happy to be a sous-chef with Biggie's fantastic cooking and baking 4) cleaning i.e. mowing the lawn, upkeep and maintaining her garden in a good condition ready either to grow new flower plants or putting them ready to hibernate in winter 5) I enjoy keeping the garden terrace clean i.e. sweep away pesky pine needles and fallen dried leaves. 6) Setting up the table nightly for breakfast, lunch & tea is a job as we both love food. I always welcome things to do, to ensure Birgitta doesn't have to worry about any pending urgent requirement, so that she can be contented and relax. Biggie's food and pastries is truly like Michelin Star level. Every workaway should try to experience this queen of heart lady's food. I love her salmon fish soup (oolala 😋😋😋), cabbage casserole, mushroom cheese pancake, plain pancake and traditional Finnish pancake. All these food are traditional Finnish food and I am one lucky blessed workaway to have experienced them. I have to leave Biggie in a lurch due to a sudden death of my mum versus staying the 90days as agreed. Biggie sweetheart, thank you for grieving with me when I received the shocking news from home. Thank you very much for having me and beingg an excellent host. Love you ❤️ Lots of hugs. See you next year. Looking forward to it 🥰

Laeticia was a huge asset to my shenanigans this summer. If she wasn't correcting my mistakes, she would at least ask why? Her background in her schooling provides her with a never ending desire to learn and improve. She has had an active life and schooling and it shows in her day to day actions. Laeticias computer skills are amazing. She was a great help around the house and her French cuisine is fantastic. Crepes, duck, bread, all great. Don't forget the Maroilles!! Or the Snapples......... Laeticia was very intent on improving her English which she succeeded at. Her comprehension and speaking are great. Keep it up. She will be a huge asset to anywhere she goes.
