  Hello stranger and nice to meet you! Im Marco and Im about to open a Hostel in San Vito lo Capo in Sicily (this was 2016, now we are open and happy about our experience, our work and we cant wait to meet more workaway friends:) , its gonna be the first hostel in town and Im excited about it, at the same time Im a bit worried but I know time and experience will make worries disappear, the Hostel life I know it well, Ive been travelling around the world and I have been in many hostels but I never run one before.
  
  My grandfather gave this building to me in one of the most important place in Sicily regarding tourism, integration, nature!
  
  The Hostel wants to be a cultural place open also to local people, we will try to make every traveller understand the beauty of the area of San Vito lo Capo, we will try to have as much fun as we can while working and outside work, because you must love your job otherwise your wasting precious life time!
  
  The Hostel has got 7 rooms, awesome terrace with sea and mountain view, a vegetable garden, oranges trees, lemon trees and mandarin trees:)

  You can learn about Sicilian culture, about the sea, the mountain, gardening, you will ear loads of travelling stories, you can learn how to play guitar cause we have 2 guitar available for you to use, you can learn something about cooking, you can learn some italian, you can learn how to keep a hostel organized and clean.
  You can learn if you wanna learn, keep your ear and heart open and you'll get something, everyday, in your life:)

  We are starting a NEW PROJECT with the CLIMBING WORLD so we need climbers with passion to help us here especially during April-May than September-October-November-December
  
  WELCOME 2025! We now have a dog ^___^
  If you have bartending skills, if you're super flexible with working hours, if you're happy also to work at night, if you are extremely tidy and clean, like almost being obsessed with cleaning, we're looking for you during June-July-August-September (Maybe also May and October)
  
  The tasks are:
  
  Keeping the house clean and extremely tidy
  Bartending (not extremely necessary but some knoledge would be appreciated)
  Cooking
  Gardening
  General Maintenance
  
  
  We have a lot of things to keep you busy like music instruments, books, tv, some gym equipment.
  We're also organizing music jam session from time to time.
  If you are a Climber even better because I climb and I always look for climbing partners!

  Hello everyone!
  
  We will need people that are happy, happiness is a state of mind, its a way of living and loving life!
  
  You will be interviewed on whatapp or video call before you get here!
  
  Each person is welcome to stay with us minimum 20 days, you can stay longer but that depends if we get along well together:)
  
  You must be extremely tidy and extremely clean even when you're not working, this is the most important thing to do at the hostel, we really don't tolerate dirty or messy people, your own space inside the hostel must be tidy and clean all the time. We constatly check that the dorm where you will sleep is clean and tidy, if not you might be asked to leave.
  Be always on time when it's time to work.
  Sorry for being so serioud about this topic but being clean is a sign of respect for the people that are sharing the space with you.
  
  We like efficent people, people that do not need to ask what to do next, we need people who see what needs to be done and do it without asking, Obviously for the first few days we will explain everything to you =)
  At the end of the day the hostel it's a house.
  
  If you don't know how to take care of a house, if you don't know how to respect shared spaces, do not apply.
  If you have never cleaned a bathroom or kitchen in your life do not apply.
  If you are not tidy, do not apply.
  If you leave your stuff hanging everywhere, on the floor, on other people's bed, do not apply.
  If you like to take a break every 5 minutes, do not apply.
  If you costantly stop your task to talk to somebody, do not apply.
  
  I'm a very flexible person and I like to be as much clear as possible, I talk a lot in order to make sure you understand what needs to be done and how.
  Always be true with me, if you lie to me you're out of the hostel in seconds.
  
  What we need you to do is:
  (duties vary according to each person's abilities)
  
  Clean well the kitchen and take care of trash (we do this many times at day)
  Clean well the common areas after breakfast
  Clean well the rooms if necessary
  Taking care of the garden (only if cleaning is done)
  Cooking for the crew, we do not prepare food for the guest
  Bartending or willing to learn bartending (help behind the bar is a must during high season))
  Fixing bikes if you know how to do it!
  Fixing things here and there if you know how ( being handy with tools is higly appreciated)
  Playing instruments and organize small performance at night if you can and if you want (not in your working hours)
  Night Guardian
  Take care of Instagram is highly appreciated, must be pro, not beginner to do so.
  Cover me when I go swimming ^_^
  
  Very important -------> Most of the shift are about deeply cleaning and tidyng the hostel, if you don't know how to clean or tidy up, do not apply.
  Very important ----> you need to know how to cook, even simple food is fine, we mostly eat simple and natural food, if you don't know how to cook do not apply.
  
  RECYCLING is EXTREMELY important, you might need to take care of the rubbish and separate well
  what other "distracted" people have not well recycled!
  
  Shift can be morning, can be afernoon, can be evening, can be nights, you must be flexible.
  You will never work night and than the morning after unless you are a robot applying!
  
  
  Its a Hostel, everyone does a bit of everything..almost.
  
  Regarding food, everything is included but you might have to prepare it for yourself , you can use the kitchen to cook whenever you want, we provide vegetables, pasta, rice, coffee, sugar, salt, oil and many other ingredients!
  You will have all the Wifi you need!
  You can use one of our bike
  You will have discounts on tours
  You will love the nature around here:)
  
  We offer 7.5€ for each hour of work but this could change a little depending on the agreements.
  Every workawayer will be paid an hourly wage.

  San Vito lo Capo its a small place, if you have a bike in 15 minutes you have seen the entire village!
  There loads and loads of activities to do in San Vito lo Capo mostly during the day!
  Snorkelling, Climbing, Mountaing Biking, Horse RIding, Trekkings, Stand up paddle, Sailing courses, Diving.
  There are 2 national parks around here and both of them are amazing, one is called Zingaro National Park and its 11 km away, the other one is 9km away and its called Mount Cofano National Park

  we have designed our living room for digital nomads, loads of plugs, awesome wifi, amazing coffe =) You can use our kichen, our herbs in the garden, our seaview rooftop for yoga and chilling. You can go climbing nearby, swimming, hiking.
