We were very much pleased to have Elodie help us out for a week stay-in at our 2 animal rescue centers in Cebu with currrently 182 cats and dogs. She was cooperative and flexible in adjusting to our schedule and tasks, was loving with the animals, much essential with this mission, easy going together in a team with another volunteer. We would love to welcome her back any time. Thank you for your help Elodie!

Linnea is great! She is grounded, easy going, and capable. She cheerfully does any task thrown her way. She does a great job of blending in wherever is needed and staying available to help even while doing her own thing. I enjoyed talking with her and working with her. She is welcome back anytime!

We are very grateful that Bálint supported us for five days in October and enriched our workplace. We appreciate Bálint as a sociable, flexible, adaptable, and understanding person. It was a very pleasant time with him!

Zac est resté deux mois chez nous et nous avons vraiment apprécié son passage chez nous. We were very happy Maxime took very good care of our animals and home during we stayed away a few days. The days we spent together were full of joy, laughing, nice conversations and good cooking. The kids loved to play with Maxime and our dogs really enjoyed the every day walks!

Gavin and Susie were fabulous and are always welcome back! They were ready to learn new skills to help and also learnt to ride. They are extremely diligent in their work and are only to be recommended. They were extremely good with the animals and took great care always to confirm they understood all instructions before taking on tasks. A wonderful couple who will be an asset to your household.

Bryan! He is so calm, patient, hard working, flexible, a bit shy but open-minded person! When he got here, we were in planting season. He experienced from the early stage of growing organic rice : preparing the soil for the germination, land preparation, planting and weeding. In addition, he helped cleaning the farm area by collecting the fallen leaves etc. when we didn’t have much things to do. He always helped us until get the things done even in the hot weather. Also, he is so steady to go for a moring jog with other volunteers almost everyday. We are glad to know he enjoy his stay with us and the life in the middle of the jungle! As his journey goes on, we hope the workaway hosts could welcome him in your great project, and have a great time with him! :D Thank you Bryan for your hard working and your help, and for staying with us for one month! We had a wonderful two months with Claire, Shaun, Alex, Stella (the big cute dog), Fifi (the small lovely cat), and three handsome big boys (the horses). We planned to stay here for three weeks but ended up staying for two months because everything was wonderful. They are all lovely people, and I’m sure everyone who comes here will love them too. They always took great care of us. We felt completely safe, relaxed, and truly at home. We shared many delicious meals, fun trips, and lovely conversations about different cultures. We always had a good laugh together during meals. We also met their lovely friends during our stay （Peter, Diep, Simon, and others）, and they were all so kind. The animals made the experience even more special. Stella is such a good girl who loves being around people. Fifi is also very friendly, and all the horses are really handsome and well-behaved. The accommodation is super comfortable, and we loved having the chance to cook for ourselves. It’s the perfect balance between work, rest, and enjoying the countryside life. We really hope to visit them again one day. We already miss them so much!

Chelsea! She is such a organised, smart, social, flexible, friendly and hardworking person! From the very beginning, she is always ready to help us even she arrived in the early morning after 8 hours long night bus travel to our farm. When she got here, we were in planting season for both her first and second stay with us. So, she experienced from the land preparation, planting, and first weeding. Every morning she got up early, go for a jogging with other volunteers, cleaning and sweeping the kitchen and set up the table for the breakfast. When she was here, we got several visitors – a group of documentary TV crew, workshop participants, visitors, etc. She was always ready to help Kakak to cook for them and also open to talk and interact with those visitors of locals and international people. She is also eager to learn Malay language and pick some words so quickly! We appreciate to her when she showed up with saying “apa lagi?” meaning “what else (I can help) ?”. And as you can see, she is so good at writing clearly as well as speaking in public/for TV, we believe that she will be able to help you in those fields as well as hands-on tasks. In short, you are lucky if you get the apply message from Chelsea! We hope you could welcome her in your beautiful and meaningful projects and enrich her future travel! Chelse, thank you so much again for your hard working, for your care, for your love to Onii-chan, and for coming back to us after 2weeks! I had five amazing days working with Sophia and her family. All the work was done together with Sophia, who was very helpful in explaining everything clearly and thoughtful in making the tasks easier for me. I arrived quite late in the evening, and Sophia was so kind to pick me up at the train station. I really enjoyed cooking together with the family and having great conversations with Sophia and Marco. They are both open-minded and well-travelled, and I loved hearing about their incredible sailing journey across the Atlantic and the exciting adventure they’re planning next. They also shared lots of interesting stories and history about Germany, gave me great recommendations on where to go during my free time, and lent me their bikes to explore the area. Through talking about our different life experiences, I felt a genuine connection with them. I was also inspired by the way they raise their two lovely kids and how they’ve built their house with consideration for the environment. It turned out to be a wonderful learning and travel experience for me, and I truly hope they have an unforgettable sailing journey ahead!

I stayed with Kim and Pete for 10 days and I really enjoyed my experience. I was staying with 3 other girls. We all got along really well and had some cozy movie nights and walks around the area . The work on the farm was versatile and I truly enjoyed just being outside so much. Besides the daily feeding, pop picking, and watering I helped Pete with building a small shed. The best part about the stay was riding! During my time Kim let me ride her mare Mirlita for a couple of times. All the animals are cared for really well and they always made sure they are happy and healthy. In the evenings we always had dinner together and it was really nice to chat with Kim and Pete. I would really recommend this workaway for anyone who is interested in farm work and animal care away from the busy cities!

My time with Evelyn was absolutely wonderful.  I had a feeling it would be a good experience, but the reality was far beyond my expectations.  Evelyn's place is fantastic, and you can see all the love she has put into every corner of her finca.  The tiny house where I stayed was beautiful, very cozy, and had everything I needed and much more.  The finca is super well located, with beautiful views of the ocean and some other islands on clear days. It's a 15-minute walk to Los Canarios, and there are lots of hiking routes around. Evelyn is a star.  She is a very generous woman with a big heart. She is honest, funny, very empathetic, and can understand people's needs. You can tell she has traveled and had many different experiences that have enriched her as the person she is.  She made me feel at home, and I felt like part of the family. We shared a lot of time together and had great conversations in Spanish and English, which I am very grateful for, along with the boys.  Tom and Iva are absolutely amazing and lovely. I truly enjoyed every moment with them, and they will be in my heart forever.  Evelyn also gave me many great recommendations for places to visit on the island and invited me to spend time with her and some friends, too.  She is a fantastic chef, and I was grateful for every delicious meal she prepared for me. The tasks were easy and clear, and communication with her was always very easy and relaxed.  Sometimes, I worked on my own, and other times we worked together.  Walking and playing with Tom and Iva, and feeding the chicks—Alma, Bonita, Celia, and Dahlia—were some of my daily tasks that I enjoyed the most.  Working in the garden—watering the plants, planting, cleaning, painting, or helping with some paperwork in Spanish—were some of the other tasks.  A month there flew by, and I am looking forward to meeting them again. If you want to have a great WorkAway experience, learn about permaculture, enjoy lovely animal company, and discover the best spots in La Palma, this is the place! Evelyn, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for my time there.  We will see each other again soon, and you know you have a friend in me for anything. Sending you and the boys lots of hugs!

Lorenz & Janne are such wonderful young men that we didn’t want them to leave! They are exactly as described— happy, hard working, open minded, curious, and kind. You can count on them and they are always willing to try new things + with a great sense of humor! They helped create meaningful contributions to our project and they made thoughtful suggestions along the way. We have appreciated their flexibility and willingness to “roll with it”, as you do in rural Galicia, rain or shine. Shared meals, however tired we all are, has always been full of laughter and funny stories. They have been extremely supportive to our pets and given, Kiko, the wonder dog, a lot of special love and care. We would recommend them to any home and request that you take good care of them as they are dear souls!

From the first moment I met them, they were both so cheerful and friendly — not only with me but also with our guests. Even though the time they spent with guests was usually just a short moment when they happened to stay together in the share house, they always connected instantly and naturally with people, which was truly impressive. I usually have some difficulty when helpers sleep in late, because their bedding and sheets are kept in the same room, making it hard to prepare guest rooms. But he was an early riser — often going out for a morning run — and that helped me a lot. They were both very active, cooked delicious meals, and brought humor and light-hearted conversation to the house. They worked thoughtfully and efficiently, and I could completely trust them to take care of things even when I wasn’t around. They also offered many creative ideas and suggestions, which I truly appreciated. It really felt like we were equals, working side by side, which was emotionally very supportive for me. George has solid skills and a reliable attitude, while Avery is equally thoughtful and insightful — a wonderful balance as a team. They told me they would come back next year, so our goodbye was quite casual, but I’m really looking forward to seeing them again. They are a wonderful couple I wholeheartedly recommend them to any future hosts!

Wir waren als Familie mit vier Kindern 6 Wochen bei Martina und ihren Ziegen. Wir haben mehrmals verlängert und sind auch einmal wieder zurückgekommen. Wir hatten eine so schöne Zeit! Wir haben uns um die Ziegen gekümmert, den Zaun repariert, Rasen gemäht oder die Ziegen kontrolliert mähen lassen 🙃, im Weinberg gewirkt, zahlreiche andere kleine Aufgaben erledigt und im Haus geholfen. Es war immer angenehm kommuniziert was zu tun ist, da haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir haben jeden Tag mit Martina gelacht und auch gemeinsam Dinge unternommen. Unsere Kinder haben sie schnell ins Herz geschlossen und wollten gar nicht mehr weg. Geschlafen haben wir in unserem Wohnwagen und konnten ein Bad mitbenutzen, gekocht und gegessen haben wir gemeinsam. Martina ist ein ganz wunderbarer Mensch - herzlich, humorvoll, hilfsbereit.

Misa it’s a great person. Once you tell her her tasks, she always do them with extreme care and love. I would definetly reccomend her as a volunteer. As a person she’s super chilled, respectful and funny. A 10 out of 10

Chris was my first Workaway-Host ever and I‘m more than happy that it was him and no one else. Together with my friend Jonas whom I’ve met through this very platform I enjoyed and amazing stay in Bullhead City. I appreciated Chris’ effort so much. He would give us plenty opportunities to learn about the american culture and everyday life and whenever you have a question, get yourself ready for an amazing history lesson (he could also have a video for the one and other topic). The highlights Chris gave us were the trip to the grand canyon and the shooting with his old revolver. We’ve seen a lot, thanks to you Chris! I hope to see you again and thanks for being such a patient student and Workaway Host :)

I helped Jens with cleaning out the house his parents used to live in, in preparation for it to be sold. For most of my stay, I stayed at this house (in Fuglafjørður) by myself. Jens and Rigmor are very flexible and laid-back hosts who have a good balance of organization and independence. I mostly set my own work schedule, which was really nice! In my free time I enjoyed running and hiking around the town. Jens was very welcoming and invited me to several events, including his birthday party and a day of sheep herding. All in all I had a great experience and highly recommend this family to other workawayers!
