I have been using this platform for almost ten years, and every time it surprises me in the best possible way. Why? Because kindness in this world has no limits. They say every place is its people… and I live this truth! I meet people I never expected to meet. And so, I arrived at this little paradise on the border of the Netherlands and Germany, never imagining it would fill me with so much positive energy and strength. Three wonderful people. Mharoeska, Kunda and Joshima, whom I first met only for a day… but it wasn’t just them. There were also three more gentlemen…. Ozzie, my beloved Freddy, and the young crazy Doli (the cats). But as a true catman, the one who stole my heart and became my best friend was the amazing Scooby…and from then on, we called Manolis (Emmanuel), the brown Greek Kangal… and of course, the three girls (the dogs) of Manolis. I stayed for only about two weeks. And to be honest, on the very first day I broke the battery lawnmower! Yet they were so generous with me, as if nothing had happened. Helping on the farm, doing the small tasks that every countryside house needs… everything had its own beauty… The house… big and fairy tale like! The view… it carries you away! The food… homemade and strong, and from the garden. Kunda, your piano melodies were always beautiful, always taking me somewhere… like a daily prayer,,,, even if you never played my favorite solo :))) Mharoeska, your care made me feel like family!.. I won’t just remember the place …. I will remember all of you. You were the place. And you know, I wasn’t just a visitor. I was home! I cannot imagine how anyone would not want to visit this home.

My friends and I were delighted about having Ava as a compagnie. She is kind, intelligent and easy going. Very much wanting to help inside and outside. And when something was the first time and therefore done in a different way we could laugh about it. So the five stars are for her caracter and attitude. Which are far more important then being flawless. I realy hope to have News from her as she travels through Europ . And she will always be welcome. This young woman is full of potential. Thank you so much for thé time spend together.

We fully recommend Nina. She is a great workawayer. We had the great pleasure to have Nina at home for a week. She provided a great help in cutting/trimming the hedge and gardening. Nina is very respectful, very kind, very polite and very well educated. She demonstrated a strong willingness in helping us. Also we had a great time together. We had interesting discussions, lightening music, playing table games, cooking or cycling around. We spent a day visiting Toulouse together. Nina also taught us how to use our sewing machine! Nina, Thank you so much for your kindness and great help. Looking forward to seeing you again. Best wishes for the future. Let's keep in touch!

Through sheer coincidence of timing, David’s stay overlapped with another guest’s, and they actually coordinated their arrival and departure themselves, and ended up as good friends (long-term, I hope). They also cooked together and even went to the gym together most days. Guests like David make it so easy to be a host! David was very flexible about how we structured my German language practice and was willing to go along with the interests of the other German guest I was already hosting. I also need to mention his spontaneous eagerness to find tasks to take on, some of which I didn’t even realize I needed. He unclogged a bathroom drain, re-aligned my front door, adjusted the lock to catch properly, and even sewed a frayed seam on my backpack. All very much appreciated! An all-around delightful young man and a privilege to get to know. I hope we are able to meet up in Austria (or anywhere else) someday!

Gabi and Lucas were the greatest! They are super friendly, thoughtful and polite. They have a great energy, were always interested, eager to help, proactive and easy going. They helped us with an eco build, mantaining the farm and even babysitting our 15month old. I can't recommend them enough! It's like they are professional workawayers haha

I spent 3 amazing weeks with Françoise and her son. I needed a peacefull place to be and it was perfect as the location close to the river and nice view points all around her place. Françoise is very welcoming, kind and fair. She made sure that I was happy about my tasks and was reviewing to be certain the result was as she expected. I am very thankful and highly recommend to visit her if you want to explore south of France.

Hi, this was my first Workaway experience and I really appreciated it. This place is a lively and welcoming place where I met beautiful people, always ready to help and laugh together. The afternoons are free from work and there are bikes available with which you can easily go to the river or the beach. On free days you can easily reach the cities of Toulon, Cassis and Marseille or go hiking in the nearby mountains. It is a beautiful place surrounded by nature among fig and olive trees. Abi and Cedric with their cheerful little girl and their two lively dogs are a welcoming family with whom I have shared a lot of happiness. This place takes you on an unique journey and it all starts with you. When with your heart open, you'll receive exactly what your soul has been searching for. Here, you can be yourself, it's a safe place to come and be as you are. My initial idea was to stay 2 months and I ended up staying 3. Living in community is very challenging, but also beautiful and rewarding. Half way through I knew I needed more time to adjust to this different way of living, and having the chance to do so, I am grateful that I did. The work exchange was interesting most of the time, a lot of hands-on, organizing, cleaning, repairing, building. I'm happy that I was able to learn a lot about so many things, including gardening, composting, carpentry, regenerating the land and also spiritual connection with oneself and the land around us. It's a lot of work and effort to have it all running smoothly and I praise to each being with whom I shared my time there. The communal meals were such a special treat, a good way to connect with others and share a piece of who you are. Not to mention, the times we got together to move, connect, share our hearts, gratitude and shit, literally... as the compost toilets won't be emptying it selves alone. Nature offered me peace of mind and emotional comfort, but also strength and a new way to love. The calm landscape hides a buzzing life that shows you on how to be resilient in such a dry environment (summer time it was). On how to take the time to just be and listen to your own energy flow. Time has it's own way to clock around here, and although the days were long, it seemed that 3 months flew by. I learned a great amount also by connecting with each non-human being that share this land with us. But they weren't the only teachers of course, as each human being also had its way to mirror and share a story to inspire me in many ways. I can't thank enough to Ana and Anti for opening their home and hearts to each being that wishes to stay and experience what it is like to live a more regenerative, calm and wholesome life. I'm so grateful for it all and I can't wait to return and experience PFL in a different season. Sending love to all beings and nature that are part of this beautiful place.

I had a truly wonderful and enriching time with Robert and Pauline. The work was fun and varied, and they were always clear in their explanations, supportive, and flexible with the schedule. The house is beautiful, the garden is spacious and full of life, and every meal was absolutely delicious. I felt very welcomed and well taken care of throughout my stay. Highly recommended!

It was great meeting you and working together, learning about the life as a land owner in this area and just experiencing the life with you in your little piece of paradise 🏞️ The cabin was perfect and i had a lot of peace and quite close to nature 🏚️ Your recommendations for day trips were amasing and i had great time exploring all around. I highly recommend this volunteering for everyone who wish to learn about building, maintaining and living in a farm, and meeting amazing people 😃

My stay at Niki's and Eva's place was truly amazing. First of all, they are super nice and welcoming, always open for any questions you may have as well. The guest house is very cozy and well equipped with everything. During my stay, I had a room to myself which was very nice. The work tasks were always communicated clearly and not too hard, mostly it's cleaning common areas, going on a walk with Joey (the cat) and helping with some easy tasks like unloading the dishwasher. On one weekend, I was also taking full care of the two cats, since Niki and Eva went on a small trip. The location of the guest house couldn't have been any better - with direct bus transport to/from Lisbon (1:15h), it's a lovely and small/quiet beach town, with the beach 3min away. Not touristy at all and amazing for enjoying slow days. I also went on day trips in the area and got the opportunity to join some surf classes with the surf school they collaborate with, it was amazing! Lastly, the food they cooked always tasted great and was always fully vegan. I definitely would recommend this place to any traveler who loves community, nature and slow living :) Thanks again, Niki, Eva, Joey and Charly, for this amazing stay!

I decided to live this workaway in september 2025 as an adventure and an experience at this path of my life! So I arrived there without knowing so much about it.. and that was challenging and fun for a month :) Way of living out of my comfort zone, learning more the language and taking time to breath in the surrounding walks. Each day spent - outside - in the sanctuary for the full month and closed to the animals was fulfilling!! That was my first experience ever in rescue center and with animals. And I grew as a human 🙌🏼. And something that I am sure about is that they dedicate their Life and energy for animals. With love 🙏. If you go there, I invite you to have the curiosity to practise spanish with spanish and colombian-as 🤪 patience and tries 🕺🏻 And I recommend taking time to enjoy the surroundings walks! 🙏🙏 The place around is so ressourcefull

It was his very first Workaway, and I'm so happy to have welcomed him! Mykolas arrived with a big smile, a great desire to learn, and a genuine respect for the people and the place. Very willing, punctual, and pleasant on a daily basis, he quickly adapted to the tasks assigned and carried them out with diligence and creativity. He shot and edited great videos for the association, helped with the gardening, and participated in many other activities with enthusiasm. In addition to being reliable, Mykolas is a genuine, curious, and very friendly person—we had great conversations and shared some great times. I highly recommend him to all other hosts: he's a Workawayer you welcome like a friend or a little brother. Thank you, Mykolas, and good luck with your future experiences! 🌟

We had a lovely time at Litsa’s animal shelter! We stayed in June for three weeks and would have loved to stay more. Litsa is extremely sweet and is fighting a very honourable cause on the island! The island itself is really beautiful. The work was very light. We would start at 7.30 am every morning and finish by around 10am, meaning that we had the whole day to explore Amorgos. Would definitely recommend 😊

I had to admit, when Marie & Mathias sent a request I almost didn't reply them because I thought I could only offer them merely few days as I already confirmed some other people. But then I told them about it and they were willing to help even just few days. I guess as people say, some people are fated to meet so I am glad I was able to host them! They are very respectful, friendly and fun to chat with. They were able to clear some areas at my garden that could take days in just few hours too! I have no regret having them around. Wait maybe a bit, but not because of anything else but its because I didn't have the chance to host longer. XD Next host, make sure you host them longer ;D Love, Roberto / Dieter

Staying with Régine was the perfect first workaway experience! She was unbelievably kind, welcoming, and generous, and the second I walked in the door I felt right at home. She took me to markets, out fossil hunting and walking with her friends, and even taught me how to shuck oysters! In the short time I stayed with her, I feel as if I have made a lifelong friend. Thank you so much for everything Régine! I miss you already!

We were very much pleased to have Michelle help us out for a two week stay-in at our 2 animal rescue centers in Cebu with currrently 182 cats and dogs. She was dedicated, cooperative and flexible in adjusting to our schedule and tasks, was loving with the animals, much essential with this mission, easy going together in a team with another volunteer. We would love to welcome her back any time. Thank you for your help Michelle!
