Hazel stayed with us for two weeks in August / September of 2025 and we had a lovely experience with her. She helped immensely with weeding the grounds, cooking for the residents, designing puzzle afternoons for the other volunteers and staff, and designing a detailed map of the plants and fruit trees around the castle grounds. She was always polite, respectful and great to be around. Thank you Hazel!

We feel very lucky to have Jens and Fanziska staying with us. They are two amazing people that helped us out so much. They both have experience with practical work and helped us repair and maintain our barn. They did as good a job as any professional carpenter would've done. Their intelligence and common sense were apparent from day one. They are not afraid of working hard, or getting their hands dirty, and they take pride in doing a very good job. They helped look after our animals, weeded our vegetable garden, spread a lot of compost, fixed our barn, and took great care of two rescued hedgehogs. Their enjoyment of helping out with our big and and small projects made it even nicer to have them around. They are great company, and we had many good and interesting conversations with them. We miss them, and hope to see them again! The world needs more people like them.

We had a very nice week with Wouter und Leen. Unfortunately it rained a lot so we weren't outside so much. But our kids had so much fun with their son and we all learned so much about cows, milking and cheese making. Thank you a lot, we hope for another moment to visit you again!

Timea is a very pleasant, intelligent, and honest person. She is great to talk to, with lots of interesting perspectives and experiences from all her travelling. She's not afraid of getting her hands dirty, and she helped us plant, weed, look after our animals, harvest seeds, prepped the ground for our greenhouse (spread soil and compost), and make a dead hedge. Her attention with the animals shows she really cares about them. We really enjoyed having her stay with us and she contributed to a very relaxed and easy-going atmosphere. She gets the jobs done efficiently, and she took care of our home as though it was her own, and pointed out things that needed doing that we hadn't noticed which we were very grateful for. We really enjoyed hosting Timea and can highly recommend her!

The week I spent with Kaća and Nenand and two other volunteers was super interesting and fun! I am very happy with my time there. We didn't have to work hard or anything but there were always things to do, like making beenbags, concerts, watering the garden, cleaning up and just talking to all the people that come by. I really enjoyed the conversations with so many great people from Kruševac and this beautiful place you built there! Thanks a lot and I hope to see you:))

Tina is ray of sunshine, and a delight to have around your home. She is punctual, conscientious and eager to learn new things. She is also very clever and practical, which makes it a pleasure to teach her. She very quickly understands new things, and has a very good intuition for practical work. Even though she's never done a task before, she performs it with the efficiency and skill of someone who is already familiar with the job. She looked after our animals, giving them food and changing their waters. She also helped us clean their living space. She also did a very good job with weeding our vegetable beds. She planted trees, spread compost, harvested potatoes, collected branches and made woodchips. She is tidy and left the accommodation in perfect condition. She also introduced us to some Taiwanese dishes, which were all very, very lovely. She is such a wonderful, calm, and caring person that we already miss very much.

Keegan and Lauren have just left after helping me for two weeks, and I can say without reservation that they are spectacular workers and super houseguests. There was a lot to do to get my boat ready for winter, including sanding and painting the hulls, removing boat furniture for winter storage, and organizing my tools and storage areas. They did everything superbly. They were also great houseguests, fun to be with, appreciative of the provided meals, and good kitchen cleaners. I highly recommend them to other hosts. And to Keegan and Lauren, I wish you the happiest of weddings and the best of success in locating your perfect place to live.

Spent two weeks with Mana Leo's community, wish I had more time to spend here! The journey from Dili to Baguia was indeed a long one but worth it! Flew in to Dili, took a taxi (USD20) to the bus terminal and a bus (USD5) to Baucau's Old Town for about 3 - 4 hours and spent a night there. Woke up around 7am+ to catch another bus (USD5) from Baucau to Baguia and it took about 6 hours with a few breakdowns. The home was a simple one and very much liveable. Meals were simple as well, a lot of rice and vegetables! Spent time teaching English and Computer lessons at the school, helping out with HoMusanIda and Baguia Fort and mainly got to know how the Timorese led their lives in Baguia. Do bring a portable speaker along to aid in your English classes, the students love music so it will be a plus if you can teach English in a fun way. Will hope to come back one day, thank you Mana Leo and family for having me!

I spend 3 weeks in Fyske during Sep/Oct. The work was mainly to feed and clean the sheep in the morning and walk with Step twice a day, and sometimes other things that came up, which I enjoyed very much. Berit and Steinar were very welcoming and kind to me. One day we all made apple juice and Steinar took me on a boat trip through the fjord. I had my very own space downstairs, with living room, kitchen, and bedroom. For heating there was a stove, which made it even more cozy. In my freetime, I went on hikes with Step in the beuatiful mountains around the farm. The farm is a bit remote, so I reccomend bringing things to do. I had my thesis to work on, which worked very well, so good place for digital nomads. I warmly reccomend this farm to anyone who is into cuddling sheep, playing around with dogs, hiking and having some peacefull time in Norways fjords. Thank you for everything Berit and Steinar and all the best! :)

My sister and I stayed at the farm for two weeks. We lived in this large community, averaging 25/28 people, which can seem impressive and sometimes chaotic at first :) Every day of the week, we went to work as a team. As for the various farm tasks, they were explained to us either by former volunteers or by Berk. However, we didn't receive a general explanation of how the farm works in depth, which we missed a bit. Burak is very busy, which sometimes makes it difficult to connect with him. Regarding community life, it was incredible; it's so vibrant :) There were always suggestions for activities to do together; the people are very talented! Cooking, yoga, drawing, visiting the surrounding area, watching movies :) The people were amazing; it's incredible to be all together, to learn from each other, and to experience all these special moments! It's a lot of laughter, joy, and sharing with the different people, as well as with the animals. We had the daily company of six dogs for everyone's enjoyment in the fields, on walks, or by the campfire in the evening :) and a shy cat in the house 🐈 There are also ducks, geese, chickens, and sheep that you can feed in the morning and evening if you wish :) We would be happy to come back :) It's an experience we won't forget, thank you to everyone! Talab is so kind and the work is great and really chill. The hotel is easy to find and in the centre of jaisalmer. You’re able to do the camel safari for free which is amazing - really enjoyed our stay. Thanks

The work was amazing, and they made us feel so at home. Naufal and Tutka are absolutely lovely and incredibly supportive. It was such a wonderful experience – truly a pleasure to be part of it! The children are lovely at both the school and NT academy. You also have good free to time to explore Yala. Thanks for everything!

My 3 months on the farm were more than I expected. So much going on, so many inspirations and so many new people. The Granger family is above and beoynd amazing as well as everyone associated with the Farm. People make you feel like at home right away, I felt like we knew each other already. The work was intense due to the heat and humidity but I was getting through thanks to the great patience and kindness of Jashel and Giselle. I was removing weeds from tires and plant beds, planting different things: cucumbers, hot peppers, watermelons, decorative plants, sweet potatoes, bok choi, baygan and tomatoes. I painted walls, helped at school, made juice, learned to cook kuchila, deep cleaned Pap's kitchen and shop, picked green mangoes, cut some bush and helped selling Giselle's produce. Apart from working, we also had plenty of fun times. Giselle and the family organised trips to different beautiful beaches, took us to so many limes I cannot even count, showed us the culture of Trinidad and its people, especially the Moruga vibe. Giselle is one of the most amazing women I've ever met in my life and I'm beyond grateful for her help, open heart and beautiful mind. She is a strong and fierce woman with a sweet and giving heart, great sense of humour and an amazing multitasker. Having Giselle around will get you out of any depression you might think of ;))) The house by the farm is modest and has all the facilities you need - kitchen, washroom, bathroom (be prepared for cold bucket showers and carrying water bottles up the stairs) and living room. I recommend bringing citronella oil (for mosquitoes - they're everywhere) and peppermint oil (for ants when in the field). After those 3 months I'll be coming back for carnival and I hope to be coming back continuously to this amazing family and beautiful country.

What an incredible experience! This was such a unique opportunity to do something meaningful for the environment while learning how to live simply on a sailing boat, discovering the basics of sailing, and creating meaningful connections with the other crew members. The work can be physically demanding at times and requires flexibility (especially with the ever-changing weather!), but it’s all part of the adventure and makes the experience truly rewarding. If you love nature and spending time outdoors, enjoy teamwork and want to contribute to ocean protection, I can’t recommend this experience enough.

Else was not only an amazing house guest but an incredible worker! Super easy to get along with and brought a lovely and warm vibe. We voted her employee of the month 7 days in a row. Hope to see her again sometime. Would highly recommend getting yourself an Elze.

Soukmeephon and Phoxay are two very calm, quiet and friendly people. We admire their courage to do something completely different to their own every day lives and in a completely foreign culture and we enjoyed having them here with us. They were both open to new things, eager to learn and were able to put our instructions into practice very well. Despite their quiet and unassuming characters they worked very well and we are grateful for their help with many different tasks. They took pleasure in cooking for uns several times and we greatly enjoyed the wonderful food. We wish them all the best, where ever their path may lead them. Chris & Ama
