I stayed with this lovely family for one month, and it was an unforgettable experience. This was my first Workaway, and they welcomed me warmly from the very first day, so I could feel comfortable right away. I am very grateful. Even though my English is not perfect, the whole family was patient and kind, and our conversations were always enjoyable. Naomi has a healthy and positive energy, and Anton is hardworking and cares a lot about his family. Lily is also very kind. They are all great cooks and can do many things. Milas and Sage are so adorable, and I really enjoyed playing with them. Their dog, Marshel, is very gentle, well-trained, and friendly. The house is close to the city, and the nearby beaches and national parks are beautiful. Meeting this family was a big blessing for me. I will miss them. I am thankful for the wonderful month I spent here, and I hope to see them again someday. I wish them always health, happiness, and many good days.

Papo and Martu are a super pleasant couple who works efficiently and fast. In addition to their nice personality, they are extremely responsible, do not need a lot of supervision, and we can say any task you give them will be done well. Martu and Papo, we wish you could have stayed longer. It was a pleasure hosting you and you are welcome back any time.

An amazing 20 days spent with J, Rhea and Liam. It was during the time of the harvest so a lot of time was spent picking grapes and helping with the process of making the wine which is exactly what I wanted to learn. There was a lot of hard work, a lot wine, beautiful animals, an awesome party to celebrate the harvest and I was even lucky enough to be invited to one of their friends party to celebrate a wedding. They helped me and were patient whilst I have been learning Italian. A beautiful house overlooking the town of Rassina in the valley of Casetino, truely a beautiful place. Thanks so much guys and I hope to see you in the future :)

I've been to Diego's posada for 3 weeks and it was a really nice experience! Diego is really chill and friendly, he teach me how to play backgammon, take me on his moto to see capybaras and discover the country side was wonderful! People who works there and guest are very friendly too! He had a lovely place with horses, sheep , a pig and a incredible dog! This is a really peaceful and beautiful. You can directly from there go hiking in the mountains arround and also go to Mariscala the city next to the posada. The task was to clean the pool, help in the kitchen and with the guest. You're free to manage you're schedule. If you want to be part of this adventure I can only recommend it!

I spent two weeks in the beautiful little town of Castel San Pietro, during the time of harvest. Giuseppe and Cornelia have an incredible property with a stunning view over the Sabine Hills. Most of the work was harvesting grapes with a little bit of gardening on the side too. Giuseppe has a very broad knowledge and I loved hearing about his family and taking in what he had to say. I stayed just outside of the town, less than a 5 minute walk in a little house called “cassette bianche”. This was my first workaway experience and I’m glad that I got to spend in in the hills of Sabine with Giuseppe and the other workawayers. Thank you so much for having me!

Bea and Christian were the most wonderful hosts and they made my first Workaway an unforgettable experience. We all worked as a team in an enjoyable rhythm, which included lots of interesting conversations and varied tasks. The setting is utterly beautiful and the buildings are charmingly built and designed. I learned a lot (including how to put up a roof, dig a furrow, and cut down a tree) and had time to explore the island, meet Bea and Christian's lovely friends, and to write and read by myself. I cannot recommend this highly enough! lots of love, Andrew

Estuvimos dos semanas en el hostal como primera experiencia en Workaway y nos encantó. Hay buenísima onda, el resto de voluntarios y Anto nos recibieron con los brazos abiertos y nos ayudaron mucho. En sí las tareas no son exigentes, aunque si viajas en pareja puede ser que ocupen mucho tiempo en total (no tuvimos tareas simultáneas, por lo que entre ambos trabajábamos 12h al día). El hostal está muy lindo pero algo falto de mantenimiento y limpieza en profundidad. Esto son tan solo dos apuntes que no hacen mella en la muy buena experiencia que vivimos. Nos llevamos en nuestros corazones todos los buenos momentos y a todo el equipo. Si pasáis por Salta, no dudéis en ir. ¡Muchas gracias!

It was my first experience abroad, and I couldn’t have asked for a better family! They treated me like a daughter and a sister. The place is beautiful, full of nature and the sweetest animals. I recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventure immersed in nature and family life. Together with the eldest daughter, we did lots of small jobs like picking blackberries, planting flowers and pumpkins, mowing the lawn — but most of all, we talked a lot and became friends. The whole family welcomed me warmly and were always kind and patient with me and my English. I will always cherish my lunches with Crystal, the mom, who is exceptionally nice and easy to talk to The caravan will start to feel like your home, and you’ll always carry it with you! I’d really like to highlight how they always made me feel like part of the family and included me in all their activities — it’s truly rare to find people like them!

My two-week stay at the Hausprojekt in Cottbus was a very good experience (the time flew!). Special thanks to Fio for the smooth communication pre-arrival and the warm welcome and relaxed onboarding, Johan for teaching me how to sand (I never thought I'd find it so satisfying and addictive), Lu for inviting me to join two cool activities off-the-house, Anno for their kindness & the lovely drawings… and everyone else for the good vibes ;) I can completely recommend this experience to everyone and I hope to come back at some point. P.S.: As they explain in the profile, the location is TOP… right next to the cool Strombad spot, enabling lovely river-side walks every morning :-)

To walk with Mohammad in the streets of Biougra is to accompany the town mayor. He is overwhelmingly friendly, generous, curious, and a passionate educator and businessman. He cares deeply for his students, his town, and learning languages. As a professional teacher myself, I was inspired by his pedagogy- his keen ability to adapt to his student’s needs, push them and encourage them in a playful and serious manner. I learned so much with Mohammad not just about teaching but Moroccan and Amazir cultures and of course the best spots to eat in town. I immediately felt welcomed and supported by Mohammad yet I had my own independence and freedom to explore. I also felt comfortable telling Mohammad what wasn’t working and what I needed. He will be honest with you and expects you to do the same. Biougra is the real deal; cafes filled with football watching men and small stalls of honey and oils. By far, this was the most impactful experience of my travels. And then there were the students; generous, earnest and eager to learn. I felt encouraged by them and forever grateful for their trust in my teaching. Shukran!

I stayed at the property for two weeks and had the best time. Krysta the volunteer coordinator is the most warm, and bright person who instantly makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I could go on! Work was as described, I really enjoyed meeting and working alongside other volunteers. The accommodation is great, the food is abundant and the location gave me the opportunity to visit the north side of the island. The long term residents are also super friendly and it was great getting to know them and seeing how they live. We often got rides into town from them and we did activities together. This experience exposed me to new ideas, and was exactly what I was hoping for. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is open-minded and curious about community living! 10/10 Salt Spring is funky!

This workaway was a great space to learn about how much life there is in the desert – it was an environment I’d been interested in visiting, but I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did! And this was in part due to Gian’s infectious enthusiasm both for the nature itself and cultural relationships with nature. I got to experience this place in two extremes, and had fun on both ends – for a few days with other workawayers and couchsurfers, having lots of long and interesting conversations, and whilst Giancarlo was away for work, being able to have a lot of time to myself whilst volunteering with his family. There’s a calmness to this environment which I found to be great for taking some thinking and reflection time. Both Giancarlo and his parents are exceptionally kind people, easy to talk to and be around even when there were sometimes language barriers involved. If you’re heading to north Peru and looking for a real cultural exchange, couldn’t recommend this place enough! Thanks again!

I had wonderful days with Jaco and Alex. They are incredibly beautiful people, the work was pleasant, the location was wonderful. Physical and spiritual recharge. I can recommend everyone to visit them!:))

Actually, I didn’t intend to accept Martina’s request at first — but when I saw her cute picture and realized she was Spanish, I decided to squeeze her in between two other Workawayers. And that turned out to be the right decision! What made me happiest was how well she got along with the animals. She was responsible for walking them in the mornings and even introduced new games to Iva and Tom, which they absolutely loved. The way she interacted with both the dogs and the chickens made it clear she’s a true animal lover. Another important point for me was the chance to improve my Spanish. Martina was the perfect person for this, as she understands the challenges involved — having gone through a similar experience while learning English during her time in the UK. Thanks to her, I really made progress with my Spanish. But that wasn’t all: Martina was energetic, flexible, versatile and a pleasure to be around. No task was too much, too hard, or too tedious for her. She even cleaned my many windows with enthusiasm! Working alongside her was a lot of fun, and I could fully rely on her even when she was working independently. It was truly a joy to have Martina here, and it didn’t take long before I took her into my heart like a daughter. The four of us felt like a little family. If you're looking for a Workawayer who’s great with animals — I can guarantee that Martina is the best! We’re really looking forward to having her back. I’m not sure who’s more excited to see her again — me or the boys?

We were so lucky to have Aviv staying with us. It was such a great help having him! He was a very hard worker :D Whatever we asked him, he did without any problems:D He also had great ideas of his own and worked independently. He built us this beautiful stair case in the forest with full of precision. Also he was so good with all our animals which warms my heart! I can only recommend to any host :D and hope he will come back one day.

A week at Patrizia’s place was a true pleasure for us. The little village of Tatti may be remote and reached by many winding roads, but that’s exactly what makes it so charming. The views of the surrounding hills looked like something out of a Tuscany commercial. After several Workaway experiences, we have to say that the apartment Patrizia offers her guests is exceptionally comfortable, spotlessly clean, and prepared with love. Our time spent with Patrizia was also very enjoyable — we easily found a way to balance caring for our big family while being helpful with work around the house. The highlight of our stay was making homemade pasta together. Thanks to the fact that Patrizia speaks Czech, even our children — who don’t yet speak a foreign language — were able to interact with her, and that will surely be a special memory for them. Děkujeme!

Florine is an excellent Workawayer and was happy to get quite muddy while pulling out more & more weeds. We enjoyed having her at the orchard, and would be very happy to have her again in the future. After dinner we helped her with her English by playing Bananagram most nights!
