Sakura stayed with us for about three weeks, and we are very grateful to her because she helped us so much. She is a very independent person and had no problem working alone almost all the time. She was always in a good mood and told us about her country and culture. She also cooked very well, especially her curry ;) She was very willing to do all the tasks even she didn't know how, and she put a lot of effort into them, although she is a bit forgetful about putting away her tools. But otherwise, we highly recommend having her at home. She is super creative and she paint very good. Sakura, even though I had to collect a lot of snails, now the plants are very healthy and growing well!! Thank you so much. You are always welcome. And we wish you an amazing year of travel!

I had a very positive experience! Laura was an outgoing, accommodating host, always providing us with advice on the best places to visit in and around Tunja, the best foods to try... she even took me out for coffee and lunch one day. The city itself was also quite pleasant- calm, safe, and beautiful, it felt like I was getting a view of Colombia that very few tourists get to enjoy. I also appreciated it on a professional level- working about 16 hours a week, I got to cover all sorts of English topics, from advanced grammar to basic conversation to business. Having taken the TEFL certificate a few years ago, it allowed me to hone my skills and build a stronger CV for the future, far more than certain other places I worked. It certainly helped that the students (mainly teenagers and young adults) were delightful- so much cultural exchange arose naturally from the lesson topics, and I made a few actual friends outside of the classroom. I'm glad to recommend them to both aspiring teachers and anyone interested in going off the beaten path in Colombia.

Fabrizio has been an incredible support to this team. He took the lead with responsibility and completed his work perfectly. We know that without him, the team would have been very different. Fabrizio is fun, enthusiastic, easy to be around, and truly passionate about the projects — so much so that we’re sure he’ll stay connected to this NGO, and we dream of working on new projects together in the future. Fabrizio, we love you. Come back anytime. A big hug

My dog, Elsa and I stayed with Sophie, Muriel and the family for around 2 weeks and a half. (i wish it was more time) During this time I was helping around the house with whatever was needed, brought my English knowledge to shine, worked around the garden and learned the art of making chestnut cream and apple compote. :D Hiking with David, chatting and joking with Lisa, talking to Cedric in French although i barely speak French (and we understood each other), bouldering with all of you are precious memories I'm not going to forget. Sophie and Muriel made me feel like at home and made me into a little cheese connoisseur. I learned so much from everyone, and it makes me really happy to have had this time with them. I'm looking forward to coming back! Elsa misses you as well!

Ying is a very friendly girl and is very interested in everything. She likes to learn and ask questions about what interests her, she enjoys taking photos and videos, she's very creative, and she puts her loving touch into everything she does. She helped with everything I asked of her, and she really enjoyed interacting with my baby. She explained a lot about her country and culture to us—very interesting. She's very cultured. It was very pleasant spending time chatting with her, and she was always willing to help. I wish she could have stayed longer. You can come back whenever you want with your husband and family. You are welcome.

Fantastic experience, I recommend it 100%! Enzo, Lina, and Elisa are wonderful people... there’s always something to learn, and the work is truly fulfilling. At the osteria you make bread, gnocchi, ravioli, help with service, and much more, all in a warm and family-like atmosphere. An experience that enriches you in every way! thank you :)

We had nice experience with Fakhr. And it was truly fun. He is a kind person with open heart. I think sometimes we had little miscommunication but in general we were happy to meet him.

Camille and Erika stayed with me for one week. It was a real shame they couldn't stay longer. I enjoyed talking to them, and I would like to know them better; they are very interesting women. They have excellent skills: working with their hands, creativity, cooking, and good vibes. They were very kind with my baby. I highly recommend them, and Inshallah, they will return someday. Thank you so much girls!

I spent an amazing month with Anton, Ellen, and Noah, and I felt welcomed from the very first moment. Their kindness, warmth, curiosity, and the simplicity of their everyday life made this experience truly special. The work was incredibly varied: gardening, building fences, moving planks, cooking, taking care of the animals, leather tanning, going out on the boat… and of course, attending a Norwegian mountain festival. Every day brought something new, meaningful, and enjoyable. But what impacted me the most were the people, the conversations, and the moments we shared. Spending time with such sincere and inspiring individuals teaches you so much — about others, about their perspectives, and also about yourself. This experience opened my eyes and enriched me deeply. I leave with immense gratitude. Thank you for everything — I warmly recommend staying with them.

Saved my life! During a busy time when husband was away Saskia helped with everything. House and driving and DIY. Super flexible. Kind. Funny. Easy going. Smart. And extremely willing. We were so happy to have Saskia as part of our family. Come back any time.

Triin stayed at my place for about 1 month and an half . So we had time to get to know each other a little bit. She is a quiet and discreet person but very interesting and very interested with others, there life and other cultures. So the exchange was very feeding. She mostly helped me in my sewing studio because it was high production season. For that she is both meticulous and fast. Nevertheless I could see that she have many other skills, in and outdoor. She is a very handy person who you can ask to drill a hole or hoover the lounge , what she will do both with the same dedication. She is very skilled as well in outdoor sports, orientation and tasks in nature as wooding, weeding...etc It was very pleasant to have her here and she is a person I highly recommend.

This was my second Workaway experience, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity. I worked for the Davaz family for four months during the summer season (April–August 2025) at their Locanda — a lovely restaurant and wine bar located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, an amazing area for exploring Tuscany. My main tasks were serving guests and wine tastings at the restaurant, but responsibilities can vary depending on your skills and interests. I lived on the estate, where a part of the family lives and there are also the winery and holiday apartments. The accommodation was about a 10-minute drive from restaurant (on a gravel road). Having a car is essential, as the estate is in the countryside and public transport is not easily accessible. One of my goals was to improve Italian, and I definitely had the chance to do that since communication with the family, guests, and coworkers was mostly in Italian (and also in English). I had amazing colleagues from all over the world as well as locals, and I’m thankful for meeting such amazing people. The Davaz family are kind and fair hosts, they are also flexible and open to adapting to your needs. They produce excellent wines, so you can learn something about winemaking and hospitality. Also living in the Tuscan countryside is an unforgettable experience. As I mentioned, the location is perfect for exploring Tuscany’s highlights — Siena, Florence, Val d’Orcia, and many more. Just one note: summers can get very hot (something I didn’t expect at first). My favorite escape from the heat was the beautiful Parco Fluviale dell’Alta Val d’Elsa. Overall, I recommend this Workaway to anyone who loves good wine, nature, and wants to get to know Tuscan life! 🍷🌻

My experience was extremely pleasant. It was my first Workaway that worked out (first one cancel because of Covid). I wanted to move to Denmark and I didn’t want to do it in a highrisk way, so I decided to take the Workaway first. I had time to get to know the country and figure things out, and it was perfect. I helped a little bit around the house and got to know how life in Denmark works for an expat. It would have been way more stressful and expensive if it wasn’t for these two. They are kind, smart, and down to earth people. Tonka is an exceptionally good cook, experience would be worth it for the food alone. Also, the fact that they are expats themselves gives them a unique perspective and idea of how life works in different places, so I think that if you visit them, there is a good chance that you will find common ground regardless of where you are from. I can’t recommend them enough!!

Elisha stayed at my place for about a month and an half so we had plenty of time to get to know each other. She is a bubbly cheerful young person, but very mature in her mind. This allowed a lot of very deep and interesting conversations. She helped me in my sewing studio. She was very skilled and helpful here and at home as well, always keen on helping. During her free time, she could easily take care of herself, enjoying the beautiful surrounding nature and so on... Her stay felt very pleasant to me and I would be glad to welcome her again.

We had an amazing Workaway experience with Christina and Thomas on their beautiful farm. For many reasons this was a perfect match. From day one they made us feel at home, inviting us for breakfast before we’d even started and treating us like family. They provided us with our own cute cottage attached with a small terrace where we could do loads of bird watching. The meals were always delicious and authentic indian cuisine. Additionally, we borrowed their motorbike to explore the nearby lake and run errands in town. Our main DIY project was building a workspace in the workshop/garage. We enjoyed it heaps when Christina brought us tea and delicious cookies during the work hours. Thomas was always hands on and pretty much worked with us everyday. Keen to learn and very helpful along the way. We were such a great team together. The conversations we had with them were very raw and personal. We enjoyed a lot of evenings on the porch together and we even learned a new game. The openness and skill-sharing attitude made this place truly special. Thank you for a very authentic and rural experience. We enjoyed the nature and the peaceful environment so much. We can‘t wait to return in the near future to see the progress of the farm. Christina. Thomas. Once again: Thank you very much, we really enjoyed it! Quinn: we will miss you, too🐶

Hosting this family was a genuinely wonderful experience. They stayed in their van and from the very first day showed exceptional kindness, friendliness, and respect for our home and our rhythm. They were proactive, motivated, and truly hardworking — always ready to lend a hand and help us tackle many of the tasks that had been waiting on our to-do list for far too long. Their support made a real difference. Their children are absolutely delightful: polite, curious, and full of positive energy. They bonded instantly with our kids, and seeing them all play together so naturally was a joy for us. We would be thrilled to welcome all four of them back anytime. Families like theirs are rare — considerate, reliable, and simply a pleasure to have around.

David is modest and somewhat reserved, yet a very engaging conversationalist with fascinating personal experiences and challenges that he has successfully overcome. He leads a healthy lifestyle, staying active and maintaining a balanced diet. He adapted quickly to his surroundings and readily took on both demanding tasks and innovative projects, such as crafting an African-style wooden chair. He also helped build a compost bin and a wooden terrace, and repainted several walls. In addition, we shared a few Spanish language exchange sessions, as he is a Spanish instructor, and he is highly proficient in several other languages as well. David is well-groomed, pleasant, and approachable, and he was warmly welcomed and appreciated by the whole family.

Maxim has been an amazing workawayer, he accomplished every task quickly and nicely. He proposed me to do some unfinished work and it was very welcome! We shared some nice moments discussing and also discovering Assisi. I highly recommend Maxim as a commited and efficient and nice person.
